  1. Well, in the semis, I'm cheering for aTomek Gollob and the champ. After all, I've got credits on them in the competition.
  2. What a fantastic race Ht 19 was. And what a magnificent effort by Nicholls. Think 3rd was poor reward for his efforts in that heat. But Sullivan's on fire tonight and TR is very determined and super-quick. Hope Nicholls makes the semis. He deserves to for his efforts tonight.
  3. Sounded like Bans Beilsen to me. Definitely need those ears syringed. But what about aTomek Gollob? Into the semis for the 1st time this season. A super win in Ht 17.
  4. Every time Gollob makes a half-decent start, the race gets pulled back.
  5. A super performance from Nicholls so far tonight.
  6. Another great ride from Sullivan. Well done to the fellow. But Adams is distinctly off colour. TG in with a great chance of the semis. As for the championship, it looks more and more like a 2 horse race.
  7. Better make that appointment with the doctors then. Another fantastic ride from TR. He hasn't looked this determined in a few seasons.
  8. Is it just me, or do you forget the annoying sound effects when the racing heats up a bit? Didn't much notice them at Eskilstuna once the racing got better and the same tonight. Edit: Did Billy Hamill just say Cardiff was the "monacle" of speedway. Or do I need my ears syringed?
  9. Another great ride by the champ. But credit to Sullivan. I thought he did okay at Eskilstuna without getting the points he deserved. But he's getting them tonight. B Pedersen well off the pace. I still think the referee was right about Lindback. The guy had little chance of making the bend and went down.
  10. A rather pathetic submission from TG there. He had the corner, why didn't he hit the dirt like TR did in the heat before? As for Lindback, in the UK with a British referee, he'd probably be back in the re-start. But not with a Polish referee.
  11. I'm saying NOTHING. It gets me into too much trouble.
  12. Maybe a little "payback" for TR after Crump's movement in the re-run of the Eskilstuna final.
  13. TR a bit lucky to get away with that start. But he's riding well and so are N Pedersen and Crump. Good to see Gollob getting a 2nd, but he looks slow.
  14. I can't see Lindback getting away with it 2 GPs running. Think maybe his error in his opening ride was playing on his mind. A good showing from Sullivan so far.
  15. Lindback continues to impress. Okay, a bit of a silly mistake on the last bend, but he'd ridden a good race earlier in the heat. Still, a good learning experience for the fellow. I see aTomek Gollob has changed engines. Didn't do him much good. Maybe he'll come strong later. A super 1st heat for the champ. Edit: Think you're a bit harsh on B Pedersen, Steve. He tried for the win, but Bjerre moved him out and allowed the others through. A hard, but totally fair, ride from the impressive Bjerre.
  16. That's a pretty good suggestion. Geographically Lonigo isn't that far away from Slovenia and Croatia. Just not sure whether the Italians would go with it.
  17. Depending on Hampel, I'd expect Bjerre to get the nod in Copenhagen. As I've said before, I can't see the Poles going for Pepe. More likely to be Miskowiak or one of their other young riders. I'd like to see the Swedes give Lindgren a run-out, but they might be prevailed upon to give Holta another go. Can't see beyond Ales Dryml for the Czechs. But Brhel is second reserve for the series, I think, so they might go for him.
  18. Anyone know how aTomek Gollob went in practice?
  19. How can we learn from the Danes, Poles and Swedes? Think it'll be hard. After all, the Danes, Poles and Swedes send their promising youngsters over to Britain as part of their learning experience. Don't see any British equivalents of young Miskowiak heading over to Poland to race in the league over there. That's where we miss out. We should be sending a young Britain side over to tour Poland and Sweden at the very least.
  20. I take it that of the remaining 13 riders, Bjarne Pedersen does the best rendition of Waltzing Matilda.
  21. Sure I remember Andreas Jonsson passing Greg Hancock around the outside last year, and Gollob passing Nicki P on a blast around the outside.
  22. Such a shame the fellow's sojourn into the British League was so badly hampered by a broken leg when riding for Wolverhampton in 1984. I think he could've gone so much further in the sport than he did. Still, he was superb when he returned to the National League. A great little rider, super to watch and a real credit to the sport.
  23. HenryW, good luck with that letter. To be fair to the Polish authorities, Protasiewicz has had his chance and has never really performed at GP level. All he had to do to be in the series full-time this year was finish better than 13th and he couldn't manage it. To the Polish authorities, he's history, in my opinion. We'll never know, but there's a good chance Protasiewicz wouldn't have scored higher than Kasprzak at Wroclaw anyway - he's not scoring higher than Kasprzak in the UK and I doubt he is doing so in Poland. As for the SWC, it may not have been the team the Poles would have liked to send over, but it did well enough. And it could reinforce the idea of giving their youngsters a chance.
