First race notwithstanding TR looks a class apart. -

Crump makes the final. I only mention it because if he hadn't, I'd have been out of the competition. Edit: And has given my scoring quite a boost: 3 x 80 + 80 = 320 Shame Tomasz couldn't have pulled his weight. -

Is that not contradictory? First Pedersen beat him fair and square and then Crump has made an error by letting Pedersen beat him. -

Crump avoids Rickardsson in the semi-final. Still, the Rickardsson semi-final looks easier. -

That was posted after the first running Liontamer. Pedersen heads for the fence to stop Crump and the champ cuts back under him and away. -

Pedersen wins the re-run of Ht 20, but Crump didn't seem to offer much resistance. Can't see any advantage for finishing 2nd in the heat for the champ. Is there one? I remember Crump was always one for tactical defeats under the old system. -

Nicki Pedersen needs to stop worrying about Crump and start riding his own race, or it'll be his undoing. -

Hats off to TR - what a fantastic ride. And plaudits it Gollob for winning a race, but he's still not looking quick. Post edited. mod note- Any more nasty comments aimed at riders will lead to a Forum ban. -

It's not a particularly good "shot" across the starting line, but on looking at the slow motion Lindback did hit the tapes first. A poor decision by a very fine referee. -

I wasn't altogether sure Lindback touched the tapes, he certainly moved first, but I'm not sure he touched them. Gollob's dreadful. -

Hampel withdrew - damaged ligaments in his thumb after a crash on Tuesday. -

Nicholls certainly woke the champ up there. Think Crump was asleep. Gollob's maybe had tough gate positions in his first 2 rides but he looks nowhere near fast enough. -

What a great ride from Lindback. Gollob and TR concentrating on each other and the young fellow takes them both - splendid ride. Not looking good for Gollob, but TR will surely work things out. Not so good for Richardson and Nicholls - I don't see why they bother. Edit: And that flaming noise is still there. -

Track looks pretty good. I'm going for Gollob. Has TR ridden since Wroclaw? -
Eskilstuna Predictions
Subedei replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Must've been temporary insanity to pick the waster to finish 4th. -
He's not doing anyone any favours, least of all himself. He's got no chance of being champ while he takes this attitude. He wants to have a long hard look at the champ - never gives anything less than 100% no matter which team he's riding for. Jonsson's a talent, I'll give you that. But that's about all he's got. And it's never enough. Ask all the "future" world champs that never were. Unless he bucks his ideas up a few notches, Jonsson will be joining that list.

Swedish Gp - Practice
Subedei replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Worth remembering that Lee Richardson was quickest in practice for the Bydgoszcz and Hamar grands prix last season. -
Thing is, Jonsson is going to be back at work a couple of days later. Is that "substantial"?
-
He's the other rider in the photograph. But I don't speak Swedish so didn't understand the prose. Looking on the bright side, for Coventry types, you'd expect Jonsson to be the headline if it was serious.
-
Wish the young fellow a speedy recovery. Never nice to hear of riders getting injured. Anyone remember what happened with the last guy injured in the week leading up to a grand prix?
-
So, TR trounced the opposition and left them for roadkill in the first grand prix at Wroclaw. But who do you think is going to take the honours in Eskilstuna on Saturday? Can Antonio Lindback follow his oh-so-impressive showing at Wroclaw in his home country? Can the mighty Pole Tomasz Gollob the Great find some speed to go with his unquestioned ability? Can the hapless Brits Richardson and Nicholls put up a better showing than Wroclaw? Can the champ Crump manage to avoid a clash with Pedersen and win the thing? Or will TR show them the way home again? I go for: 1 Tomasz Gollob (I'm a helplessly, hopeless romantic, just like the Poles) 2 Jason Crump 3 Tony Rickardsson 4 Andreas Jonsson

Over to you for a response SteveHone.

Or Bruce Cribb - did he really pull his own teeth with pliers? And given the dearth of NHS dentists at the minute, has he considered a career change?
