  1. No. It can be anyone the BSPA or SCB (not sure which body) proposes.
  2. If he can't stand the heat, he ought not to be in the kitchen.
  3. It is good to see people finally coming around to my way of thinking. Three Grands Prix down and not a single heat win from one of the British riders - is that 60 Grands Prix for the former British champion without a sniff of a win?
  4. According to speedwayworld.tv: THE Ullevi Stadium has a proud history of staging top-level speedway having staged nine World Finals as well as three Grands Prix. The last World Final to be staged at the Gothenburg venue took place in 2001, and was won by spectacular Danish racer Jan O Pedersen. Its previous appearances on the Grand Prix schedule occurred in 2002, 2003 and 2004, and on two of those occasions the meetings were won by a rider taking top spot in a GP for the first time. Leigh Adams finally broke his duck at the 2002 Swedish Grand Prix, whilst it was Hans Andersen's night in 2004 on the first time he had ever reached a GP Final. The circuit will place its own unique demands on the riders as, at 416m it is the longest on the calendar and much bigger than several of the field face in their regular league racing. And the overall standings are much closer than they have been at this stage of recent seasons, where the pattern has tended to show one rider making a flying start. This year, Nicki Pedersen holds a narrow two-point lead over Tomasz Gollob, with Greg Hancock and Leigh Adams close behind after their strong performances in Leszno. Sweden is also the first round of the 2008 SuperPrix, with the meeting winner guaranteed a place in the big-money shootout at Gelsenkirchen in October. Taken from: http://www.speedwayworld.tv
  5. Where have my posts from earlier in this thread gone?
  6. He hasn't the best record in Poland, so it's a gamble on the part of both parties. He'd probably be better off in Britain, but his average is prohibitive.
  7. He had signed a multi-year contract with Czestochowa, so it would presumably have to be with their consent, unless they've cancelled his contract, or he's bought his way out of it.
  8. That's a little unfair to drop a cog's great hope - unSteady scored a point. Simon Stead for the GPs? Tee hee Mrs Miggins, tee hee.
  9. Ah well, there was a typical sportowefakty.pl moment, HenryW, you know what they're like. They first had Lawson third in the race off and then a little while later he was second, with Vodjakov having an engine failure.
  10. No, Trees, submission is not an option. You keep fighting, you hear me. We'll never let BSI break our spirit of defiance, will we?
  11. Agreed. And it would show just how poor the Elite League stuff is in comparison. And if they showed Bydgoszcz meetings I just don't think the screaming imbecile Pearson would be able to cope with a lap of Emil Sajfutdinov without collapsing with excitement.
  12. Give them a chance, youngster, the meetings haven't been long finished - expect them to be available later tonight or tomorrow.
  13. Well, not sure about that, but he's a hell of a lot better than Sullivan in the wet, obviously.
  14. Not altogether sure Andersen appreciated it in Ht 10. But what about little Wieslaw Jagus - brilliant, so far tonight.
  15. I think I'm right in saying that young Andersen was the last Ullevi winner in the GPs. Why rush back just to be humiliated? I really don't know why he bothers with the GPs.
  16. There's a big open meeting at Ostrow on Sunday, so the Ekstraliga meetings are tomorrow, well, apart from Gorzow versus Rzeszow which was staged last Sunday.
  17. None, I would say. The Polish authorities decide the wild card for Bydgoszcz and I can't see them looking beyond a Pole - maybe a second go for Jaroslaw Hampel or perhaps Janusz Kolodziej?
  18. The Bydgoszcz versus Daugavpils meeting appears to be on-line now - hunt back through Lawrence's post and you'll find details of how to access it. But it was a bit of a stroll in the Polonia stadium for Bydgoszcz, with only the Laguta brothers offering resistance.
  19. So, now we have both Bjarne Pedersen and Lubos Tomicek wearing the No 11 race jacket?
  20. Thing is, would the Elite League pairs have been doomed if Olsen was there to nod his head at the riders?
  21. Quite the contrary, young fellow. I'm serene and content, as I always am when those of limited intellect, seeing their beloved former British champion fail miserably, again, resort to the sort of post you managed above. You just continue crying into your beer and listening to the endless list of excuses your hero comes out with.
  22. First of all, no I didn't, I said that Richardson was probably the most consistent British performer in the Polish leagues over recent seasons. And since there were a good 2-3 seasons when the former British champion couldn't even get a gig in Poland, I don't see how anyone can disagree.
  23. Well, his statistics for final appearances is SEVEN in FIFTY-NINE Grands Prix. That's not good, is it? Yes, he qualified for this year, largely by knocking Harris flying in Germany last year. But he shouldn't have been in after failing to qualify for last season and the season before that. If it wasn't for his nationality, he'd only have about half the appearances he has.
  24. Okay, finals - tell me how many finals? Nevermind semi-finals, they're irrelevent. Finals, how many? You might be surprised. Edit: By the way, just in case you don't know, young fellow, the answer is that he's made just SEVEN final appearances.
  25. But he's never remotely looked like winning one. And he's had 59 goes. Only EIGHT riders have ridden in more GPs. And they've managed 76 titles between them. That's an average of nine and a half each. If he wasn't British, he wouldn't have appeared in half that many GPs.
