New Points System For Gp 2007
Subedei replied to tomazpozrl's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Funny thing is, you never really see Jason Crump have mechanical gremlins, do you? So, is it bad luck or poor preparation? I'd say a little of the former and a lot of the latter. -

I've already given my top fifteen in another thread - it includes neither Steve Johnston nor the vastly over-rated serial failure. -

I wouldn't have had Lindback back for 2007. And if BP fails again in 2007, I wouldn't have him around for 2008, unless he qualifies via the qualification tournament. I don't mind people being given a second chance, but come on, Nicholls, who can't even finish above Steve Johnston in the Australian Championships, has had how many chances now? -

I fear that your reasoning is unreasonable and fatally flawed. In your original post you say that the GPs are for the "best fifteen riders in the world" and use this, incorrectly in my view, to justify Nicholls' inclusion. But where does that leave Harris, who not even the broadest of imaginations could consider to be remotely near the top fifteen in the world. -

And Harris? Are you deluded enough to believe Harris is one of the top fifteen riders in the world? -

Sub. I do wish you would give over as well as your continual sniping at Nicholls is really boring and repetitive. We all know your feelings so you have no need to keep telling us at every opportunity. I very much doubt if Scott has done any begging to get in the 2007 G.P's as it's not his decision who is in and who is out. So he is in - hard cheese for you but good for all the British fans who will enjoy seeing him in the G.P's this year. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> When a Nicholls failure results in his elimination, I shall, as you say, "give over". -

Almost as tedious as Nicholls' imunity from the harsh reality of having to actually qualify for the GPs, but not quite. Everything. Please explain. I wish Nicholls would give over begging. This is just a pathetic attempt by BSI to improve Nicholls' chances of qualifying by right. I wonder if he'll be in the qualification tournament this coming season? I doubt it - beneath his princely status. I hope this attempt fails and that once again I get to watch the terminally deluded justify the unjustifiable - it's such fun. -

End of the day Rico, a rider could win all the GPs, but still not be world champion. This is nothing more and nothing less than a shameful attempt to make Nicholls' performances in the GPs look better and give him a chance of managing to qualify for 2008 "on merit". -

Ah, bless their little cotton socks, for trying to help a serial failure to qualify by right. -
Yes, I think we'lll leave that there - we don't need to know about people filling your holes young Hammond.

It was solely EasyJet and it was solely down to the weather this morning. EasyJet voiced concerns over the re-surfaced runway in wet conditions. No doubt these will be addressed by the operators of Bristol airport - I believe EasyJet want strips cut into the re-surfaced runway to aid braking when landing.

But Cardiff gets bigger every year, doesn't it? I think you have a point young Meynell. If Crump rides away into the distance again, I think interest could go downhill very rapidly. I mean, leaving aside Krsko and Bydgoszcz, the GPs were of a very poor standard in 2006. The SWC is a far more engaging spectacle and more compelling by far. Adding new GPs seems little more than a desperate attempt to regain the initiative. -
Strangest of all, Nicholls eighth? And Chris Louis above Mark Loram?

Ticket Prices For Cardiff 2007 .
Subedei replied to tony159's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The event is crap - poor racing on an abortion of a surface. The only thing that's possibly any good would be the atmosphere and the paying public create that, not BSI. Year on year people talk less about the speedway and more about the atmosphere. -

I wouldn't have had Messrs Nicholls or Richardson in the GPs last season. Andersen didn't perform in 2005 and was replaced by Iversen, who subsequently didn't perform in 2006 and has been replaced by Andersen. Tomasz Chrzanowski didn't perform in 2005 and was replaced by Protasiewicz for 2006, who didn't perform and has been replaced by qualifier Jagus. Now, after two years of failure Richardson has been replaced by Harris. It seems only the pauper prince Nicholls is immune from paying the price for failure. Jonsson seems to perform at his best when the tracks aren't in the best of conditions - Malilla, Cardiff and Latvia, for example. Gollob on the other hand, seldom shows any interest in such conditions. Both have the talent, but it seems something else is missing. Jonsson could make a run for the title and he's my "outsider", but I think it'll be a one Crump race. -

This is about potential winners and not serial losers, so why should I mention him earlier? -

He won a couple of GPs last season, which is, I believe, more than even Greg Hancock managed. And it's hard to imagine Nicki P gifting GP wins to Crump as easily as Hancock did a couple of times last season. -

I disagree, which, I guess, won't surprise anyone, since I'm not the agreeing type. To be sure, Crump didn't retain his title after the first time he won it, but he finished second behind a runaway Tony Rickardsson and he won a couple of GPs along the way. Neither Nicki P, Hans Andersen, or anyone else in the field for that matter, are of the calibre of TR. For me, this coming season is a one horse race and Jason Crump is that horse. -
