  1. I notice that Tony Rickardsson is having his now regular day off after a GP - Nicholls replacing him in the Unia Tarnow line-up. I've a feeling this will do still further harm to Rickardsson's chances in the GP. He's showing little or no respect to the leagues and it is now affecting his GP form, in my opinion.
  2. I think we need to pay special attention to what Crump said. He didn't just say it was different from practice, he said it was completely different from a league meeting. Edit: Anyway, after an ear-bashing from the formidible Mr Clemens, hopefully young Olsen will see the error of his ways.
  3. I think TR had one or two "blonde" moments tonight. Is it just me, or is he taking "blonde" to extremes in terms of his hair? I blame Matt Ford.
  4. Only I know the answer. Anyone else is just speculating.
  5. Easily sorted - just mess around with the signposts when you see Olsen coming and direct him to Orebro instead of Eskilstuna.
  6. Didn't know you had a proverbial - proverbials possibly.
  7. For one particular poster - who shall remain anonymous - try putting Rickardsson's name in where Crump's was and see what you think. It would've been another awesome GP win from the great man - did enough in the qualifiers, got through to the final and then walloped everyone in the final. Rickardsson did it often enough last season and this particular poster was in raptures. Crump wasn't lucky, didn't have luck, he was just brilliant.
  8. Well, a rather tedious GP, although it did liven up towards the end. And Crump's two battles with Hancock were wonderful races. As a general rule of thumb, I feel a race is good if you don't notice the annoying noise that heralds each new lap. Alas, I noticed it far too often tonight. Anyway, congratulations to Jason Crump on his win. And, as ever, here's my thoughts on the individual riders: Leigh Adams - Made the semis, but he'll be disappointed with his showing, although he did look quick enough. I thought he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time on a few occasions tonight. Bjarne Pedersen - Pretty dreadful really. He had one good race, but didn't look remotely like making the semis. Antonio Lindback - Started very badly, but picked up a bit as his races got that little bit easier towards the end. Jason Crump - Brilliant. Always looked a likely winner and, ultimately, was the winner. Andreas Jonsson - Obviously wasn't pushing it too much because of his injury. Scott Nicholls - Started very well, but ultimately was very fortunate to make the semis. He looked culpable for his fall in his last qualifier and then he might've been excluded in the re-run had Kasprzak bit the dirt. But Kasprzak didn't and Nicholls made the semis, where, as per usual, he flopped. Greg Hancock - Was outstanding most of the night, with only one really poor ride when he lost control and dumped BP in the fence and was excluded. A very good GP from Hancock. Tomasz Gollob - Looked slow, wasn't making the best of starts, but made the semis. And that was about all he deserved. Jaroslaw Hampel - A much better showing from Hampel, which you'd expect as it's his home track. Probably be a bit disappointed at missing out on a place on the podium, but at least he made the final. Matej Zagar - Where'd he come from? Was rather anonymous for most of the meeting, but made the semis, then the final and finished third. Excellent. Tony Rickardsson - Awful, just awful. Needs serious track time, or he'll finish nowhere. Should take the leagues more seriously. The competition's much tougher this time around. Nicki Pedersen - Looked super-fast all night, but made a mistake in the semi and missed out. Krzysztof Kasprzak - Did okay, no more and no less. Piotr Protasiewicz - It just doesn't happen for PePe in the GPs. Should give them up as a bad job. Niels Kristian Iversen - Won a race, but that's about it. Lee Richardson - Won a race, but that's about it.
  9. Well, I think it's too late in the day for TR. But, if he wants to stand any chance at all, he'd better make sure he takes his league racing a touch more seriously henceforward. Might even be an idea to get his begging bowl out and see if someone'll give him a place in the Elite League.
  10. To my mind, Rickardsson is now paying the price for treating the leagues with such disdain. And it's not just the BEL - he only shows up in Poland when he feels like it.
  11. But PK's a little like Piotr Protasiewicz - it just doesn't seem to happen for him in the GPs.
  12. There's usually one on Kenneth Bjerre's website, according to Garf. Anyway, last season TR raced seven times in the Wroclaw GP and won each and every single time. I suspect he'll not get everything his own way this time around. For one thing, I think TR's lacking something this season and for another, the opposition's that little bit tougher. And Wroclaw is now the home track of Jason Crump. I'm going, as ever, with Tomasz Gollob to win, followed by Jason Crump, Jaroslaw Hampel and Bjarne Pedersen.
  13. It was cancelled due to the weather. At the minute I don't think there's been a re-staging date announced. Actually, the Torun-Rzeszow meeting was announced as being cancelled - to be re-staged on Thursday - and then went ahead anyway.
  14. No, definitely 1986 that he joined the soon-to-become Orange Dictator at Hackney. The same season that Jessup moved to Mildenhall and Les Collins to Edinburgh.
  15. Did he have a season out of the sport between Hackney and Arena Essex?
  16. Well, 1988 would be Arena Essex and, if my memory serves me, 1985 would be Kings Lynn. Edit: The memory is going, it was Swindon in 1985. And his 1985 figures, in case you ask, were (British League and League Cup only): Malcolm Simmons..38..291..23..314..7.89 Meetings..points..bonus points..total points..average. Interestingly, of course, Simmons was also team manager of National League Hackney in 1985 - he joined them as a rider the following season.

  22. What connection speed have you? I have the pictures fine - and in the meeting I saw half of (Gorzow versus Rzeszow) there seemed mountains of passing - without sound. But that's because the speakers are broken on my PC and I can't be bothered to fix them.
