  1. First TV meeting of the season and not a great one to start off with. I thought they would start with Peterborough as defending champs. For the presentation Kiri was good at the top of the show. Kelv was still understandably emotional at the start talking about Nige and will no doubt be feeling it for a while as they were very close friends. Kelv did a good job under the circumstances and Jason was good on the same lines of Louis. Not sure if Jason will carry on for the rest of the season or if they will have a guest co-host with Kelv from week to week? Not sure why Sam was there, never really been a fan of him behind the mic and just rambling on and not giving much of an opinion. Dave Rowe would be a good addition but like said stick a camera on him and he does get a little shaky but he is a good stats man and knows his stuff.
  2. Anyway back to the GP and I thought it was a great start on Eurosport. Kelv did a great job and understandably emotional without Nige. Chris was not bad and I think if they stay together they will build a good relationship on the comms. Scotty in the pits was not bad though expected Dave Rowe to be somewhere in the team. Great racing expected a bore fest but credit to the track staff as Gorican served up some great racing. Bartosz is going to be tough to beat this year I fear but it is a long season so lets see what happens. Roll on Warsaw!!
  3. Saw Midlands Today mentioned Nige on the news and also a piece is on the BBC website https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-61126833
  4. Totally shocked at this news, I saw the website and thought maybe the statement was about maybe not commentating or slowly moving away. This was the last thing and still do not believe it. RIP Nige
  5. I remember little bit back in the star they said Southampton was looking to comeback but not heard anything since?
  6. Good luck Rob and the rest of the team and hope to see Rye House back on track soon
  7. Shame to see the vandalism but fingers crossed they will be up to tapes soon
  8. I remember seeing in the star about Southampton as they were putting in a planning application but not heard anything since?
  9. There is Burton Trent Raceway though guess nobody has looked there as it is a little out of the way
  10. The new team/track has not been confirmed. I guess this might of been Bradford if they had everything in place?
  11. It is fine Godfrey will probably make up a list of riders that should meet the criteria and should deserve a place in a team
  12. I guess that will stop crowds at lower league football now
  13. Received mine the other day and read every page. 100 edition, lets hope for another 100 and many more. Well done to the team who produce this and keep fans like me still in touch with the sport while racing has temporary stopped
  14. Just got back good size crowd and good lot from Leicester as well as various other tracks. I would guess was around norm Scunny size crowd. Great meeting hope Tom is ok.
  15. I guess the current climate is not helping but what happened to Bristol as remember bit back in the star there was a guy looking to get them back up and running?
  16. Some names have been announced for Scunthorpe http://scunthorpe-speedway.com/?p=11354
  17. Just seen this on the BSPA site sounds promising but guess depends if BE want to sell https://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.38248
  18. Chris really enjoyed your presentation for Coventry Storm and also in the box was a nice change from Peter York, nothing against him but just feel his style is a little old and needed a freshen up
  19. Yes but if you read The Buzz you will know from Jeff Davies and his group there has been a couple of people who are willing to buy the stadium off BE and get it back up and running but BE prefer to sit on it and let it get further into decline.
  20. It seems to be a little vague for sports as F1 is not letting any crowds in at Silverstone for two rounds they are holding in August but on the same weekends I am going to Oulton Park and Donington for the British GT and British F3 weekends. Also my other half's family are going to the British Superbikes
  21. I am not a football fan so do not follow it much but I have heard from the local teams here who are non-league that they looking to start the season in September. Not sure if this is with/without crowds. I did read somewhere as well that non-league clubs were hoping to start normally as if they start later than usual then they will miss out on the FA Cup dates which are lucrative fixtures for them and the cash from that must only help the club keep going and help with facilities etc
  22. I guess we will see in the coming days which tracks will open and have challenges or individuals. Looking forward to August as going to some circuits as the UK Motorsport has open up to crowds and got the Rugby season starting in September so if any that open hopefully can slip them in too
  23. Will have to keep eye out see which clubs/tracks will be releasing fixtures for August - October
  24. If Yarmouth did run NL would be best for them as there would not be too many fixtures and they could fit them around the holiday season to maximise the attendance.
  25. Just finished reading the Tamworth addition of the Defunct tracks. Really interesting read as living in Tamworth I was aware of Old Deer Park but not the other track in the 30's Shame Tamworth went so quickly though fans not going when they became a Birmingham feeder side obviously did not help. Shows how times have changed as they closed due to low crowds of around 3,000, think some teams would love that figure now!
