Beowulf replied to A ORLOV's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You may well laugh ! I went to a world championship qualifying round (remember those ?) at Stoke refereed by Frank Ebdon. The meeting began bang on at 7:30 and the 20th heat was done by 9:00. We were in the pub by 9:20. Nice one Frank 😁 -

Any chance of a favour, change the title to include the king's Lynn match ? -

Leicester V Wolves Prem. 01.09.17
Beowulf replied to Barrow Boy 2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If Bjerre hadn't been injured the score would have been a lot closer. -
Swindon in the final, the other tie 50/50

Somerset Rebels Vs Poole Pirates 01//09/17

He isn't, everything he has 'achieved' is due to being handed top teams on a plate by Ford. -

Be reasonable, Lions had very bad luck in losing Lasse Bjerre and already using R/R. We did not need the points, Leicester did. -

Prediction anybody ? The match doesn't have much importance for Wolves with regard to our place-off place. But it could mean a lot to Leicester with regard to the relegation play-off. Sill think 47-43 to Wolves. -
Wolves official site saying he sustained a chest injury in heat 7 fall. Not sure if he will be fit for tomorrow night at Leicester.

Rye House Vs Poole 28/8/17 7.30pm.
Beowulf replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
You are entitled to your opinion about the Wolves track, as you prefer larger tracks. That however doesn't make Monmore a bad track just because you don't like it, which appears to be what you are insinuating. -
Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House
Beowulf replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
There is no way in your situation that 6 home losses can be considered as 'unlucky'. Poor team, period. -
Rye House V Kings Lynn / Kings Lynn V Rye House
Beowulf replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes you did, but at the same track and on the same night Rye House weren't able to ride their fixture. This may lead to the fixture not being ridden before the cut-off date, possible meaning Rye House being eliminated form the play-offs. Some people may then consider Poole being lucky.............................................................. -
Is This Swindon Team The Best Of Recent Times?
Beowulf replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No idea who are going to get, out of our hands.............................................................. -
As it turns out, it wouldn't have have made any difference ! And I'm a Fred fan.
-
i'm know we are using r/r but 4 heat winners is poor.
-
And there you have it, we help anyone who asks. Fair play to the Robins, 2 home defeats and a draw ( I think) and still finish top of the league. That is some achievement.
-
I'm very happy to hear that 🤔
-
Updates saying Doyle delayed on the motorway, start put back to 7:45. Hmmm......
-
Quite. Surely the easiest team is Poole at the moment ? That would leave Wolves with Belle Vue and I don't think we would make the final.
-
We haven't, with respect, had a no 7 all season !
-
Fraught with danger picking possibly the second strongest team in the top 4. No doubt in my mind though, Swindon are the strongest and the team in form, an unbeatable combination ?
-
Surely you pick Poole ? Knock out your 'local' rivals and progress to the final.
