Well it is relevant to me. I was looking forward to seeing Tai at BP tomorrow (actually today). I didn't question Emil's commitment to British speedway when he came to BP, I just sat back and looked on in awe. Each meeting is an event. Enjoy it for what it is. You seem to suggest that a rider has to be fully committed to our national sport for his appearances to mean something. That is, with respect, a rather outdated concept. Are the foreign riders participating in the Polish leagues "committed" to Polish speedway? I think the pay cheques out there might have more to do with it. There are riders. There are meetings / races. Enjoy one taking part in the other and be thankful that sometimes you see something quite memorable. The fact that Tai is British, the fact that some believe his loyalties are more Australian, are all meaningless. We can claim him as ours when he rides for GB but otherwise he is no more or less "valid" as a participant in "our" leagues than Max, NKI, or any other rider, foreign or carrying a British passport.

It's not so much hindsight as "I told you so" 2 years ago. I was not happy to see Dougy leave Leicester at the end of 2021. [apologies for posting on the "wrong" thread]

Weight may not be a factor in top speed, but it will be in terms of acceleration. Coming out of the start or exiting the bends are theoretically improved by a lower weight. I say theoretically, because the assumption is that the rear wheel can get the power down on the track the same, regardless of the weight applied. This is clearly not necessarily the case. So there may be an optimal weight. Maybe a rider needs to of a certain weight but good, aerodynamically. Hell this is more complex than I'd thought when I started this response

Good job I'm not a BV fan. I might take offence Edit: Whoops. I just noticed you are. A BV fan that is, not offended

So if you know that, why not tell us which club?

And that was 2016. You'd have to say he was a better rider then. So assessed at 6.50 now? Discuss.

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023

Clearly not. But watching those highlights through, I still thought we might win despite knowing we didn't. It's such a shame. Because had we won, we've have been talking about it for years. It was truly a special meeting. -
That is so wrong on so many levels.

World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023

I loved tonight's meeting. A great event that had me shouting at the screen. Sorry neighbours. But I am persuaded to the line of argument that says the semis and race off should not be at the same venue as the final. Preserving the track for the final meant the earlier meetings were spoilt by a hard packed slick track that wasn't what we'd expect for a world class meeting. -

Ah but, for all his brilliance, he did drop 4 points from his 5 rides. But I'd have him in my team, at a push. -

It was a really exciting meeting. Some great racing. And we nearly did it. Analyse the arse of it if you will, but we gave the Poles a really good run for their money on their home turf. And we eclipsed the Danes and the Ozzies. -

This possibility of putting a good rider, even your best guy, at 5 and shuffling the team according to their allotted gates, is new and maybe not fully exploited facility as yet. The Czech Republic showed us the way on Wednesday with Vaclav Milik at 5. The gates analysis is more subtle. Do you replace early, wait to see if the gates go the way we all "know" they are going to be and what about the possibility of TS rides? And don't forget the 6 ride maximum. At last, team managers have something to do. Unless, of course, they put the whole thing into ChatGPT -
Survival of The Premiership?

Ah but. If you have a North / South divide, riders can still double up. Sorry, I'll get my coat. -

Live Updates obviously saw my post. But I have the evidence Serious point: They are looking for a texter. -

You think you've got problems. Live Updates has this meeting titled as King's Lynn vs Leicester. Let's hope that none of the Peterborough team see this or it could be a bit one sided! -
I didn't say it was valid or might work in Nick's favour. I'm just guessing in the absence of any public facts. Like everyone else.
-
The only thing that comes to mind is that Nick and his team are conducting their own blood/laboratory tests. If these show him to be innocent of drug taking and the SCB accept the evidence as admissible, that might help his case. He may, however, still be punished for non compliance with the testing procedure.

But what about a ref cam? That might be interesting.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
False dawn replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sounds like someone you'd let take the piss! -
I think you are right. Sorry for my misleading post. I think the original statement said Leicester were allowed a facility.

I think the only options for Leicester, when Nick was suspended for 30 days, was to use guests/RR or to redeclare the team with a new rider and Nick being "sacked". Sadly, on the balance of probabilities, Nick is likely to handed a ban and I guess Leicester decided to act accordingly.
