  1. Don't worry Lisa. By my reckoning, if the next victory is as long away as the last one, you don't need to start worrying until Wednesday 11th February 2071
  2. Wow! And Poole's guest, the great Peter Collins couldn't save the day. Let's hope it's not nearly 50 years before the next victory there. Poole 1. Peter Collins (G) 3 2 2 3 10 2. 3. I think that's an academic question, where Leicester are concerned. Given the way the two parted company after the Newcastle vs Leicester match in 2021, I can't see Ty ever coming back to Leicester. Certainly while SD is the team manager anyway.
  4. I agree. Ben is an untried asset and you complain when he scores 9, including two race wins. Sack him. There would be a long queue to sign him, believe me. I'll take Danyon too. Cookie is brilliant, sometimes. Not sure I could cope with the moods though.
  5. I'm a fan of Connor and consider him a prospect for the future. But tonight is a key fixture. Despite Leicester's recent form, they'd be mad to underestimate the Gladiators. Especially as they field Hans Andersen and guest, Scott Nicholls, both of who know their way around the Leicester track. There are no certainties in this game, but Jason has to be good choice. Jason will score nowt now and Connor will top score for the Cubs.
  6. He rode even better than that. I think you'll find it was Nick Morris who touched the tapes in heat 15 despite live updates initially saying it was Steve.
  7. I think the policy is for guidance only. Personally I think there should be a minimum number of heats completed before the policy kicks in. Effectively charging £10 for 2 heats cannot be defended.
  8. It's always handy having an extra goalie, eh. Seriously, I'm sure dogs at football matches are properly controlled and cause no problem whatsoever. Either that or their owners are asked to leave.
  9. But 11 points from 3 away fixtures in 8 days, one of which was at Poole, looks pretty good by anybody's standards.
  10. Ah but. The real significance of tonight's result is that everyone now knows that Poole can be beaten over two legs. Fortress Wimborne Road is no more.
  11. We don't bear a grudge do we? But the memory doesn't fade either.
  12. If I wasn't a gentleman I might say that unlike last year, Poole didn't forget to put the shale on the track. But you all know I'm not like that. I'll just add (another) 3 points to the Leicester league total.
  13. Sounds like the "Boris style" of rewriting history.
  14. I can't quote the the post I wanted to since someone seems to have deleted the Poole vs Leicester thread. I just wanted to ask our resident vegetable who's got the big balls now?
  15. I have some sympathy for your point of view. However, as with many aspects of modern life, for me, it comes down to my own sense of responsibility. If I take my grandson to a restaurant, I make sure he behaves appropriately. He doesn't run riot or badly affect other diners. Likewise, if Lenny comes to the speedway with me, I expect him to behave appropriately. I go where I know there's space for him to settle and he doesn't cause disruption to other fans. In fact, generally speaking, it's others that insist on "bothering him" by stroking him and asking about his history etc. Not that he doesn't like the fuss, he loves it. But it's horses for courses and it is always my responsibility to make sure our visits are trouble free. I don't take Lenny because I think it's my right to do so, I take him because I don't like leaving him at home for many hours alone. I think that's a responsible attitude also. So it's give and take. No one has a right to behave badly or to take a dog into an environment just because it's allowed and then cause a problem. You do see signs saying that well behaved dogs are welcome. Perhaps the signs should say, well behaved dogs and well behaved dog owners are welcome!
  16. A very good question. I did think, at one time, that I knew. But testing it against what really happens, blew a hole in that theory.
  17. Ah but. I did buy an Aero at an aerodrome. It was one of those yard long jobs, as I remember.
  18. Good luck with that. I emailed them on the 19th May about the Championship Pairs meeting to no avail.
  19. Aren't they running greyhounds at the same stadium? Normally that means no dogs, I'm sorry to say. It's kind of ironic, for me at least, since my dog is a greyhound. But even that hasn't gained him access to other stadiums that run both sports (Sheffield, for example).
