  1. Irrelevant if they would sell 3 times as many race cards at £1 each, produced in house for a lot less than bought in from a printing firm and more work for £3 - especially when the riders in the score chart at wrong. £22 (assuming the car park is £2 is it??) before you've watched a race on a weekly basis is too much for most people.
  2. Me too - I seem to remember Somerset done that one season and it was much better from my point of view. Promotors piece, a page full of adverts, fixtures list and a scorecard. What more do you need? Nobody really cares anymore when the visiting no.1 was born, nobody really cares what happened on this day 10 years ago, nobody really cares what happened in the premier league at another track last week... all that stuff can be found online if you really want to know it. 99% of preppie who buy a programme want a scorecard and that's it. I don't want to pay £3 for that and I won't be either, like I'm sure many others won't either. From memory when we had the race cards before they were all printed in house on the day so cheaper to produce and also they were up to date too.
  3. I read it was £3 for a programme. Time to start printing my own I think!
  4. Not entirely sure pairing Charles and Holder together is going to be a great idea and may end up getting in each others way more than anything. I'd be tempted to swap Jack with Richard and have Richard at 4 and Jack at 5 - especially for home matches.
  5. As already explained, no - it's 1 x 8.00 or over, not 1 x 8.01 or over.
  6. It isn't - it's one 8 and over.
  7. Exactly. Charles Wright was clearly one of the riders who wasn't flavour of the month either after the presentation shambles at the end of this season and potentially wasn't being considered with Holder on the horizon. I think there would of been uproar if Wright wasn't signed amongst fans. As an overall Holder is the obvious option but there is very few better to watch at the OTA than Wright. Like you say, plans change and I'm sure this is another reason why the team wasn't announced in one go like it has been for the past what 4 seasons (?) and drip fed instead.
  8. I believe the plan was to have both if what I'm told was right - and like SCB, I've no reason to doubt it. Matt Ford demanding that we buy Holder was scuppered that.
  9. Other than MattFordFan and PooleBolton who always post absolute rubbish - I'm not sure who else has said that. I remember saying at the start of team building I didn't want either of the two Holders, but there is a lot of potential improvement in Jack so happy with that.
  10. It was mentioned on here weeks ago about Doyle signing and people said we couldn't afford him - I said at the time that wasn't the case and so it's proved. Welcome back to Jason Doyle to his spiritual home. Plenty to be optimistic about with this team, plenty of improvement in Lawson, Holder, Wilson Dean and Allen. Who knows about the Dane as I know nothing about him at all. Poole can keep Chris Holder. I'm led to believe he was on his way until Ford put a stop to that. We'll settle for Doyle though *insert smug face*
  11. Not going to lie, never heard of him!
  12. I can't remember the last time I heard the word 'snazzy' but I think that just about sums it up. The content is good though. Looks like it'll be three separate announcements too at various intervals. Think the forum will go in to meltdown when Holder is announced....
  13. Looking forward to Good Friday already!
  14. Seems though that he doesn't wanted to race on it every week - instead choosing one of the best race tracks in the county.
  15. It has been known in the past. Admittedly a few years ago but he crumbled on numerous times like a soggy custard cream when he was Somerset's no.1.
  16. It's pretty much the team that went on a bit of a roll at the end of last year with Kennett in for Wells - which makes Rye even stronger at home. I'm not sure they'll win it but they should easily make the play offs.
  17. How many profiles are you up to now.... 6? 7?
  18. It'll also come as no surprise that Charles Wright also hasn't signed for Somerset either, being a Poole asset.
  19. It would make most sense. Poole have ridden on Wednesdays for as long as I can remember and Somerset's official off race night has been Wednesday too.
  20. 50% of Poole's team is currently former Somerset riders - what's your point?
  21. I've heard Doyle is off to Rye House. Chris Holder at no.1 with a 5 pointer (Lewis Kerr maybe?) at no.7?
  22. Think you've hit the nail on the head in the last paragraph. From my point of view, I have little to no interest into the GP series or any competition like then. It's League speedway or nothing for me. And by league speedway, I actually mean Somerset speedway.
