King's Lynn V Somerset 7/8/17(£10 Adults)
Najjer replied to tellboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What another great away win. I haven't seen the meeting as I don't have BT but could, maybe just maybe, could the Rebels be the under dogs and sneak into the play offs? Imagine if we did at the disposal of Poole...... -
Magnus Zetterstrom got banned for missing the PLRC to ride in Poland before. It'd be for both sides if the BSPA impose a ban.

Somerset V Belle Vue. 4.8.17.
Najjer replied to Cliffeboy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Bit harsh on Lawson that Gresham, he had a match winning performance for us fairly recently at Poole. Wolves was his first poor meeting for us. -
Nothing to do with bitter and being vindictive - it was a pure foolish move by Mart Ford allowing Kasprzak to go to one of your rivals.
-
If you think this will put riders off in future, I think you're very naive. That fact that 3 riders have been signed to come into the side to replace Holder and Batchelor shows those riders really weren't bothered. Riders always leave teams on bad terms. I remember Olly Allen being promised a team place at Somerset one year and then get dropped out of team plans just before we announced our team. Ty Proctor also dropped on the eve of press and practice one year. You'd think that might put riders off, but as if - the real world is nobody really takes much notice. All down to who fancied it and who didn't I think is the bottom line.
-
You make no sense. You state they are being denied a living, but then say they should be fined heavily therefore impacting on their living wage? You then continue to say they should be given a second chance. Buster has taken a zero policy with them and rightly so. No second chances over this sort of stance from riders.
-
With abit of luck, yep - The gap now between Premiership and Championship is closer than ever which I can only see as being a good thing. Once the fixture list is improved also, hopefully with some of the "big names" gone it'll help to reduce costs and British Speedway can get back onto the track again. As if - Certainly hasn't stopped their 3 new signings
-
Why bother with a fine? That'd be shrugged off in no time with the amount of money they're racking in from elsewhere around the globe. This stance will certainly make some riders think twice about playing games in the future.
-
I called this as soon as Holder was banned. Good on Kings Lynn I say and good riddance to Holder. One of the poorest attitudes towards British Speedway for many a year.

Somerset V Wolverhampton Wednesday August 9th
Najjer replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I can't actually remember what the last meeting was at Somerset, it's been that long. Absolute madness and insane fixture planning. If the weather though at the OTA tonight has been anything like 10 minutes up the road, then the right call was made tonight for sure. -
I wasn't aware of that, so that's my mistake. Makes it even more of an outrage that Poole released him for Kennett, when his average meant he was bound to get snapped up elsewhere in the race for the play offs. I'd of stuck with him knowing he is likely to come good more than Kennett and preventing him being signed elsewhere.
-
Kasprzak didn't do enough meetings for a new average, so should remain on his previous average. Unless of course Poole sign him on his 'big' average and start chopping and changing riders within the first couple of weeks of the season Maybe Mitchell Davey will be available too!
-
Not having a no.1 is a disaster - as proven also by Somerset. Tungate turned up for one meeting this season and we won away at Belle Vue. Since being replaced by Lawson and having a proper no.1 we've gone on to be undefeated at home and taken a point away at Leicester and a famous 3 points from Poole last night. A big no.1 makes all the difference.
-
You know it's bad down in Dorset when they're talking about signing Mitchell Davey to improve their play off chances.... good lord!

Poole Pirates Vs Somerset Rebels 26/07/17
Najjer replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Richard Lawson has to be one of the signings of the season, such a shame we didn't have him at the start of the season on this form. Sensational stuff from him and the rest of the team. Just imagine if Hougaard wasn't rusty and wracking up the points. Get on you Rebels! Can't wait to read Starman's words of wisdom... what a beating, what a beating! -

Looks like it, as Lawson rides at no.1 for us - and can't see Wright riding at no.5 either. -
Lack of meetings is not the problem, as it's not far off being any different to the old Premier League. It's the way the fixtures are scheduled that is the problem!

Bloody hell, we actually have a meeting! -
Bristol Bridge Inn is a right dump. Fox and Goose is overpriced I believe. You'd be better off travelling into Burnham itself and go in some of the pubs there.
-
I wondered that too. I've been banging on about covers for seasons now so it'll be great news if we have them on a permenent basis. Bad news for Sheffield as Howarth (another ex-Rebel too!) flies round our place, along with Josh could of been the favourites. Still not sure if I'm going to attend or not yet with no home team to follow, but looks like a cracking line up.

Chris Holder ! :- Friend Or Foe
Najjer replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As has been previously posted also, I'm led to believe Somerset didn't sign the agreement either. -
August 1st... Chris Holder to get the sack? There is no way I'd have him in my team after the past week.
-
I find it staggering that some have implied throughout the thread that Holder's actions is almost a plan to return to Poole and abit of bribery involved. When will people learn that he doesn't really give a damn about Poole or British Speedway for that matter? He's only out to look after himself and that's all. I've lost count of the amount of times when a track hasn't been like a snooker table and there's reports then that he's the loudest mouth about wanting to call the meeting off.

Poole Pirates Vs Kings Lynn Stars 12/07/17
Najjer replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Some of us were more than happy to have Lawson at Somerset. Like you say, he's been a revelation too. -
Barker will be on a converted average from the Championship, not exactly the same.
