  1. I wouldn't want him. Biggest whinger in speedway for many a year and has taken the mick out of British speedway far too much.
  2. Hougaard has been very poor... not to mention injury prone. It's either that or he just couldn't be bothered for the tail end of the season.
  3. It started full of promise, but like most things in speedway quickly turns into farce and an embarrassment. I haven't been since June due to the pathetic scheduling after that point. I still really support Somerset being in the top league, to drop back now would be a big fish in a small pond. But big changes are needed next year.
  4. Just another reason why it's best to do away with most of them.
  5. I'm of a similar opinion, but up until June I thought it had been a good season and had enjoyed being in the top flight. Different teams and local matches, albeit missing various opponents number 1s at times sucked. I haven't been since the middle of June now, mainly because we didn't have any fixtures for god knows how long for some unknown reason. We've then tried to fill as many meetings as possible into August, and simply put anything other than a Friday wouldn't of suited me this year. So, from a selfish point of view, that's why I haven't gone to any mid week matches. It's been a regular theme though for mid week or Friday matches that we haven't had a full team for ages now and it's simply embarrassing. I cringed when reading the press release about last weeks fixtures and the amount of guests we had because of riders being unavailable or other reasons. I go to support Somerset, and have no real interest in general speedway. I support Somerset speedway and I want to watch our riders riding for us.... not any old tom dick and Harry for the evening.
  6. Hougaard 1+1.... is he really that poor or is he lowering his average? Shocking.
  7. Run meetings in the middle of the season ffs!
  8. Hougaard has been really poor since returning from injury. Lawson's scores have dropped off badly too it seems.
  9. What? How is that relevant to anything? Literally outrageous. What a mockery.
  10. Has it though? I know he was banned initially for 28 days but I wonder if the further 9 months actually begin once the fine is paid. Seems abit daft to give him a 9 month ban when it's only going to effect the very start of next season. I seem to recall reading Danny Bird is still banned, after receiving a 12 month ban... because he never paid the fine, so the ban hasn't technically started.
  11. Anyone with half a brain cell would be able to tell that if Somerset are trying to track down Poole to reach the play offs.... having Poole riders guesting for you isn't a good idea! Partially - without wanting to sound like a broken record, if the fixtures had been planned accordingly in the first place then that would elimate half of those problems. Grajczonek was also missing for Sheffield last night because of this fixture. Not sure if Redcar were due to ride too so Wright would of been missing too for them.
  12. This has the makings of a 60-30 all over it I think....
  13. What a joke this match has become. Surely just surely, even with the amount of fixtures Swindon have left, there must of been a better date available? The fact we have Kennett and Starke riding for us is even more of a joke.
  14. So it's self employed when it suits, but 'denied a living' when it doesn't?
  15. Are you on a wind up or are you morphing into Starman? What an outrageous comment to make. If Holder thinks the track was unfit, it doesn't matter who is racing against!
  16. So not only severing all ties to British Speedway, rubbishing all of his Aussie mates except Doyle it seems. Real smart.....
  17. This just shows why Poole were mad to replace KK with Kennett. I said it at the time that Kennett is just Kennett but KK could be on par with Kennett or much better. Just shows how little inspiration and motivation there must be from Muddlo now as KK sticks a massive middle finger upto him and Poole.
  18. I haven't seen that, unless he's now deleted it? He's really not the sharpest knife in the drawer so maybe he's realised it might leave him a few quid short. Or, maybe they could replace it with the Chris Holder benefit meeting with all benefits going towards his "loss of earnings" 🙄😂
  19. I believe it's only programmed rides that count too? Either way everyone was eligible except Wright and Allen. Seems a mistake by the team manager and even more so by the referee to miss it. Thankfully he failed to score so hasn't made too many odds anyway.
  20. Like you say Gresham, we came so close to getting points out of Swindon, Kings Lynn and Wolves at the start of the season. The Swindon one was the hardest one to swallow when we on to win the match in heat 15 and it all went horribly wrong and we conceeded a 5-1. All Ifs buts and maybes but on reflection that could be crucial at the end of the season. Rye House are still in it - especially if they win tonight.
  21. Great write up as always ER, especially for those of us who wasn't there last night sadly. Seems like a right all round team performance with everybody chipping in with points here and there. I know we've made 3 team changes but to be within a good shout of the play offs after being wrote off at the start of the year for the wooden spoon is testament to everybody at the club.
  22. You're obsessed. I think Wolves would be quite happy with a point before the start of the meeting. Poole on the other hand, probably wouldn't of been very happy with the Rebels closing the gap by another 3 points....
  23. Saturday on the M5 is usually even worse!
  24. I believe that is incorrect. If you read that article also it says about tier 2 for 3 months or under employment. A speedway contract I assume runs for a minimum of 6 months. Plus didn't Ty Proctor have a 12 month 'cooling off' period last year? Justin Sedgmen definetly said he was at risk of being in the cooling off period before Belle Vue signed him at the end of the winter.
