Future 15 Gp Stars
DartfordHammer replied to Hazzman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
IMO, Kolodziej should be a GP rider now, or at least with a wildcard. Kasprzak is a good rider, but I honestly think Kolodziej is better. -
Team Gb, Hans Andersen And The Gp's
DartfordHammer replied to Mylor's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's a nice idea, but not a good one. Hans wouldn't do it anyway, and there are still plenty of people who are determined to hold a grudge against him for 2004. As said, better to offer it to Crumpy, at least he was born here. -
Any News On The Swc Qualifiers
DartfordHammer replied to Col's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done Finland, great performance from Kylmo. Will be more than looking forward to seeing him ride in the World Cup now. -
While I had a great time at Poole in '04 (mainly because I was in the temp. stand right in the middle of bends 3 & 4 and could see everything), it's each to their own. I personally don't see why one particular track should get it every time, it's not a bad idea to move it around. Might get some tracks' promotions into gear, with advertising and how to actually entertain and all the rest of it.

Odds For World Champion 2006
DartfordHammer replied to drakey's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd either have a go at Hampel or Nicki Pedersen, if I wasn't allowed Rickardsson or Crump. Probably Pedersen for this year, although Hampel seems to be getting stronger each year. He only failed to make the Top 8 this season because he missed 3 GP's, otherwise he'd have been in no problem. -
Confirmed Wildcards Are.....
DartfordHammer replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I can't understand why Richardson is in but Andersen isn't. But there you go. Fair enough. I think it should be sorted out by qualifiers, with a lone wildcard. I'd rather see riders in there on merit (albeit a one-off meeting) than be 'nominated'. But again, there you go. -

You can't be surprised at no Loram surely? He hasn't been up to that standard this year. -
Hampel And Sullivan Out Of Lonigo
DartfordHammer replied to Subedei's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well not really. He can't finish higher than 9th, and the automatic qualification cut off is 8th. It's pretty certain he'll be in it again next season, as he's managed to get that many points and miss 3 GP's. -
Hampel And Sullivan Out Of Lonigo

I just read that myself. I hope Roman can make a good fist of it, and not embarrass himself. -
He is in no way, shape or form past it. So he's not had a particularly good year by his standards. Did you see the injury he's had to deal with? He's just not himself. Maybe he will never be the same again, but there is no way in hell that he is 'past it'.

No point bringing Loram back unless he seriously improves over the winter. He's really out of sorts. I thought two riders qualified in a mini-tournament? Or was that just for this year?

2005 World Champion
DartfordHammer replied to Sandie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
The best rider of the modern era, without a doubt. Well done Tony. That month's practice at Arena sure helped you out didn't it. -
The way I see it, he could have called both the Gollob/Pedersen incident and the Adams/Pedersen incident either way. Adams was perhaps a bit fortunate that it was on the first bend and could get away with all four back. But Pedersen was perhaps slightly unfortunate to be excluded but someone has to go, and in my opinion it was a 50/50 decision. There was clearly contact, but whether it was Nicki hitting Gollob or Gollob hitting Nicki I don't know. What is it with Nicki and that fan thing anyway? He seems obsessed with it. Err, back on track, the tapes incident I'm not going to blame the ref for as he is looking straight down the line of the tapes and I suppose cannot see them go up. I'm probably wrong, but still. Therefore, I assume that he just thought the two inside riders got a bad start. But, on that note, perhaps he should have consulted someone as to why that was the case and put on the red light. But there you go. Just seems to me as though this bloke receives a lot of criticism for decisions when it could quite easily go either way. Yes, he's made a couple of wrong decisions but who hasn't? It's not like he's cheating.

Trick To Sew It Up
DartfordHammer replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
As far as I know, all Rickardsson has to do is finish ahead of Crump. Probably more to it than that though. Let's be honest anyway, TRick is likely to win again, although like Subedei I predict Gollob to have a very good time indeed. -
Swc The Final
DartfordHammer replied to tarabanko's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I also don't see what the problem was, as only Gollob was inconvenienced by the collision. He went on to win the race through Steady's inexperience on the track, not through dangerous riding or gaining an advantage. It seems a bit like sour grapes to me. -
Swc The Final

All I can say is well done Poland. So I'll leave it at that. I'm not getting drawn into any childish arguments. -
Well, it was far more English than Greg could say last year. If I remember, the only English I ever heard him say before last night was 'thank you very much'. So well done to him on his fantastic maximum and his improved linguistics. And yes, Gollob really is simply the best. Heat 25 was shaping up to be another cracker until the Czech rider fell.

Well that massively boosts the Danes' chances. I see Walasek has replaced Kasprzak as well. -
Grodzki Strikes Again
DartfordHammer replied to SCB's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Is it really his fault that referees aren't doing anything about it? I doubt he's got any sort of thing going on with any of the referees. TRick seems like a very nice bloke to me. Mind you, so do Nicki Pedersen and Hans Andersen. I suppose the attitude changes when you're concentrating on the racetrack. I've always said with sportsmen that their attitude changes completely from their normal self as soon as they step out into the sporting venue. I always use the example of Graeme Le Saux the footballer. In person, he's a quiet, calm and generally really nice person. On the football pitch, he's mouthy with a short fuse and goes flying into tackles. Just shows what the desire to win can do. -
Draw For The Race Off
DartfordHammer replied to garf's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Here's hoping for Nicki Pedersen at No. 5, Tomasz Gollob at No. 3, Ales Dryml at No. 1 and Jason Crump at No. 4. What a final heat that would be. -
I'm not so sure, I reckon we could sneak that 3rd place. I'm not quite sure how, just being optimistic.

Rickardssons Antics
DartfordHammer replied to Eastie's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think the main problem is consistency. He had the gall to exclude Holta for something that was dubious at best, certainly not worth an exclusion, and yet doesn't take the same attitude with TRick after his elbow incident. Personally I thought it was all four back in, but because he excluded Holta he should have excluded Rickardsson for a worse offence. If he had put all four riders back in on both occasions, then I doubt so many people would be complaining. It was his inconsistency with the exclusion lights that caused the problem. -
Come on Team GB!
