Rose tinted glasses that only sees the one side of racing, WINNING. -

"Racing was shocking" ................... How many times have we heard this when teams get beat. The weather plays a big part and track prep is NOT the same every week for every team. The riders, if able & want to, need to adapt. P C apologised for the track conditions because your riders wanted their perfect track. Not long ago he apologised for the performance at Eastbourne. (Get the picture now do we.) "Under normal circumstances" ? What is this? End of season meaning having to get meetings on before the deadline! Get real! Teams could, if they tried, could have brought meetings forward when the weather was fine, even on their (many)alternative nights when it suits. -

It is because they changed the shape of the track to make entertainment a priority, similar to off track, but they have not been getting the big wins they had before. This has led to a few posters saying "we need to get back to winning" but winning & entertainment does not compute with some up north. Win or lose at the EWR, we enjoy our racing & THAT is the priority, THE FANS. Last week it was the attitude of their riders, almost beaten before they start, similar to some of the riders that were at the CLRC & at a previous meeting for a certain, nameless, rider. -

When the weather is fine, why stick to a regimental fixture list drawn up in February. Promoters should get their heads together to see if they can bring forward meetings. Even using guests Track specialists, can improve a team if rider availability a problem. -
It is on the Glasgow v Berwick thread now quoting rule 18.1.8 19th in PL 15th in CL but posters saying that has now been extended to 19th also. Why have rules!

It was a dodgy weather forecast last week & you used track covers. Where are they this week? -
Cheers. I have seen the dates of 23/9 & 26/9 for Play Off 1 & 30/9 & 3/10 for Play Off 2 in the fixtures section. It is just that I have seen meetings for 16/9 & 17/9 & wondered if these were still within the cut off point. I know, from the results last night who the top 4 are so was just wondering when the final league positions are to be sorted by, to see who finishes top & has the choice.
-
On what date are the final positions sorted. I have not seen any dates for PL or CL. Surely, it should be on the BSPA site in the League Table section.

And that was a late change & guest available at short notice although Garrity has been performing well. -

I would think that most of the shops are closed or are closing around 5 or 6pm so the car park is emptying to allow supporters to park. -

If you go to the One Stop & have a meal in Wetherspoons before or around 6pm, would this cath us out? -
Talk about a guy in need. He will be at Birmingham on Wednesday for Scunthorpe. Thursday is a rest day. Friday he is at Glasgow. Saturday he has 2 meetings at Berwick. Then back down to Scunthorpe for our last meeting on Sunday. Since his break from Redcar & signing for us, he must be the most over used rider out there since the start of July.
-
Yet again, if a team is more successful than others, they will be trying to cram all their fixtures in in a short period, similar to Workington last year, & all at a time when then weather is turning for the worst & a bit cooler. I thought this year cup competitions took priority over league fixtures to get them finished by a certain date so all competitions are not at the end of the season.

No, sorry. I am just pointing out the situation of banning riders. Cookie hits an official at the 4's a few years ago & gets away with it. At Eastie, he was wound up by the announcer, then took matters into his own hands by not waiting for all the introductions to take place & riding off, with 2 others following. He, also, this week rode onto a track when track work was being undertaken & had to have his cut out removed. Josh Auty, 2 years ago for us, quit then changed his mind, & only got a 14 day ban. This is where, I think, Jenkins should only get a 14 day ban.

Glasgow v Scunthorpe CL 31/8/19 @ 7pm
IronScorpion replied to Paulco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You can only beat what is put in front of you so whether it is a poor team or a suspect track, you have to adapt. Sadly, Glasgow didn't but looking at the teams I was hoping we would get at your reserves & Sam Jensen on his debut. 10 heat wins from our riders does tell a story, though, & Cookie had 4 of your 5! -
I have said this for a while now in that riders, when not getting paid, have to continue riding because of the threat of withholding their services & a 28 day ban. If riders are not paid they should be allowed a 7 day leave of absence with the club suffering with no facility.

Tac sub for Glasgow at ht 7, 10 heat wins for the Scorpion riders, a well deserved win. YES, YES, YES. -
Len should fight for the ban to be 14 days only unless rules changed from 2 years back. Returning for same team means ban to be 14 days, in the interests of speedway, though.
-
Was Jordan Jenkins hit with a 28 day ban for withholding his services? As I have just been on your website to check news on Drew, I noticed Jordan has changed his mind & Kent applied to re-introduce him straight away. Will his ban now be changed to 14 days?

Practice not compulsory, Eric. Just look at the amount of Polish League meetings we have had this year on Fridays before a GP. -
Riders might have been signed, just not announced yet.
