  1. 8 team Premiership(for tv rights) & north/south Championship racing home & away twice might be on the cards.
  2. For the benefit of Bagpuss. the link is Monday's initial news item having Bickley in & not Rowe. There is no mention of the Danish team except that it will follow.
  3. Yes. The craft of a team manager is where to put your 2-5 with either of your reserves at 6 & 7. At Swindon this year, in the Supporters Cup, Swindon were wise in the 13 heat + 2 nominated heats to have their 2nd top heat leader at 3 & not 5 like others did.
  4. I wondered why they were in our section when I first saw the topic. A few more to put on ignore, then.
  5. Loan fees are now paid for borrowing assets from another club though you can buy via a transfer fee riders from another club. I think Ayres might be ours, now, even though he came from the NDL, he rode enough meetings to become our asset. Barker might be a BSPA asset as when Coventry folded, there were issues between an ex promoter who bought their assets which the BSPA then took over. I am not sure but think Garrity, also comes into this category as he was initially swapped with MPT but the BSPA took over. Kinsley is another from the NDL who has ridden CL only for us. Allen I would think is a Somerset(Elite/Premiership days) asset & Lambert a Kings Lynn asset. I could be wrong, though, but it is just my take on things but rules change every month/week to suit.
  6. Awaiting mine in brown envelope, normally around 2pm.
  7. I thought that system was opposed as being too dear.
  8. Albert has put this spot on about our times to run a meeting, helped by the referee, riders & clerk of the course when rain threatens & if memory serves me right, our quickest was around 70-75 minutes. This is helped by having a prepared surface which does not build up a "berm" or ridge of shale which then requires the tractor(s) to come out. Having no interval helps but with some clubs leasing their stadiums for race nights, the stadium owners need to maximise their profits by having an interval.
  9. Over the last few years, I seem to remember that if a rider is an asset of a club, they have 1st choice. If a said rider wants to leave & another club asks for permission to use him, then the parent club may release him. I think Howarth was the rider in question & Sheffield were waiting a while for Workington to name him or not.
  10. The weather forecast has somewhat changed with no rain throughout the day. http://www.metcheck.com/WEATHER/dayforecast.asp?zipcode=Scunthorpe&locationID=56905&lat=53.6&lon=-0.7&dateFor=20/10/2019 Mind you, there is time for that to change, and the line up.
  11. This last Saturday in the Football League, 2 matches were postponed in Division 1 & 1 in Division 2 due to International call ups.
  12. With Leicester having to split their side up & depending if Nicholls goes nearer to his home on the south coast, could we make up a team of Douglas 8.31 (it would be a surprise if we could get him back, our asset!) Auty 7.61 Allen 7.26 Ayres 5.51 Nielsen 4.51 Palin 2.00 & if the limit goes up to 42-42.5 then riders that have done well this year at the EWR are, if possible, one of these - Rowe/Perks/Ostergaard/Doolan
  13. There is going to be a few withdrawals on this new date as a few other meetings have now been rearranged for the 20th.
  14. Scunthorpe Rider of the year - Jake Allen Most impressive against us - Ryan Douglas Most surprising against us - Grobauer & Ostergaard
  15. I checked on his performances in Australia last year & I don't think he is at a standard required for Britain.
  16. WOH! The 3rd "witch" has come out of hibernation to stir the pot(get it) . Nice to hear from you again but we will almost all be going back to slumberland after the season & AGM.
  17. They have tried it before at a lower level than 8.5 & Scott Nicholls proved that if you take it to court, you WILL get your own way.
  18. or reply but DO NOT quote him as then we have to read his drivel!
  19. The weather forecast has been pretty much the same over the last 3 or 4 days that I have checked with rain forecast all morning & in to the afternoon. There is a non-speedway amateur meeting on early on & I do not know how they prepare the track for this, whether it is light on shale. This meeting should finish around 3pm when Rob & his crew will prepare the track for the NLRC in better conditions.
  20. I can't find any rules on the BSPA site but I can find them on the SCB site.
  21. I would put money on Perks to win this but in Leicester's away win, the 3 heat leaders were 1. Garrity 4. Nicholls 5. Douglas
  22. Is that fit for one team or both? It depends on the attitude of riders with a quiet word in the ref's ear.
