  1. 'Proper second halves' these days are MDL/NJL matches which are far more relevant in an era when there is a dearth of experienced home grown riders than Rider of the Night jollies ever we're. Unfortunately there are too many people that rush away before heat 15 is over, let alone stay to watch a 2nd half. In an ideal world I'd like to see every track with a junior league team in a league system regionalised enough to limit travel for school age riders and busy parents but with enough matches to give regular track time. Promotions should be encouraged to give priority to these matches over the local super star's engine test sessions and prospective new and re-emerging defunct teams should be restricted to 1 season of challenge matches with scratch teams before entering one of the junior leagues if they are really serious. Unfortunately such a set up would require some joined up thinking which appears to be beyond the capabilities of those in charge.
  2. We're in the 2nd year of the regulation that limits doubling up to 2 seasons, I've no idea what 'original intent' you're talking about. Irrespective of Jon Cook's opinions, the series of trial meetings being run to evaluate the proposed new format use 6 man teams.
  3. The new format being trialled for next season seems to be a tactical lover's delight with substitutions any time a team is behind.
  4. If they stick to the original intent then the majority of this year's d/u riders will have to choose which league they want to ride in having used up their 2 year allocation. The planned switch to 6 rider teams will have a bigger effect across the 2 senior leagues.
  5. Doesn't appear on the SCB registration list published yesterday so could well be on a 1 day licence on Friday.
  6. It's EL x 1.4 so 7.77 and a non-starter because he had 2016 average over 6.
  7. A lack of joined up thinking. The #7 restrictions only applied on initial declaration according to the regs so Robert should have been able to guest as far as I'm concerned. It's possible to read the regs to allow Edinburgh a facility which would allow them to use Davey in contradiction of a rule that says they can't. The bottom line is, it's broken & I have no faith in the people that are going to have have to sort it out.
  8. 500cc final Jordan Jenkins Tom Brennan Kyle Bickley Luke Woodhull 250cc final Leon Flint Drew Kemp Jason Edwards Arran Butcher 150cc final Nathan Ablitt Kieron McCoy Jamie Bursill Mason ORourke 125cc final Joe Thompson Dan Thompson Mickie Simpson Jordan Palin
  9. From the Rye House website; "Additionally, Birmingham supporters wishing only to watch the second match may do so by entering the stadium after Heat 14 of the Premier League match, with normal National League admission then applying: Adults £12, Full-Time Students (17-22) £8, Children (aged 12-16) £5, with Children (under 12) FREE. "
  10. There's currently one standard tyre but there was a move to introduce a 'wet' tyre and some testing was done but no conclusion reached.
  11. the 3 point NL restriction was for team's inititial declarations and now normal guest rules apply. NEG PLR means the rider is not eligible to guest when no facility is allowed.
  12. It's only Leicester that is charging £10 pound having got away with £7 last year. Every other club charges £5.
  13. From 1991-94 the Fours package consisted of 1st & 2nd Division finals on the same day at Peterborough.
  14. They got away with £7 last year when everywhere else was £5 so I guess they thought they'd ramp it up a bit more this time. Another - 1 from me.
  15. Re-read the reg and you'll see that Lanham has a lower PL average than Nielsen and EL averges are irrelevant.
  16. Storm in a teacup. The SCB did the only thing they could and confirmed that the right guest was used as clearly stated in the regs. All the ferretting around in old green sheets was a total waste of time as there was never any hint of a 'no facility' situation.
  17. See Tocha's post #9 for the appropriate regulation.
  18. Robbo was stopped from riding before by a MC decision that he was ineligble due to having a 2015 EL average. They appear to have changed their minds on that point.
  19. It doesn't though. You left out the first sentence of the regulation which contains the crucial part; "The Meeting Referee...exercises supreme control of a Meeting..."
  20. It's the referee's meeting scores which cover compliance with the regs regarding track safety & facilities.
  21. You do know that 'Track of the Year' has nothing to do with track preparation dont you?
  22. This is the line up on the BSPA site ; SEMI-FINAL 1: GLASGOW: Richard Lawson, Aaron Summers, Richie Worrall, Fernando Garcia. 23. PL doesn't always get priority though as in the regs you posted. Bewley is doubling up which brings 16.1.1 & 2 into play, and the PL match was a rearranged fixture (16.1.3) so it's game set and match to Edinburgh.
  24. Where does this 'No facility' nonsense come from when Bewley was legitimately riding for his other team?
