Many thanks to Tarabank for posting and my deepest sympathy goes to Kennys family and friends at this very very sad time x What on earth is happening to our sport! -

Poynters Coaches taking us to Wimbledon for the NLRC, oh those Scottish Tours how excellent were they we'd lose 4 days! Our yearly trip up to Mildenhall only to get there and it be rained off luckily enough the girls in the burger bar were there ready to feed us and to fill my ice cream tub up with onion rings! The 4TT and 3TT always provided good entertainment and the Championship of GB was held at Canterbury, I remember the year Mark Courtenay won and Dad had to to take his bike to pieces in front of the crowd in the main stand to make sure there was nothing had been tampered with. Awwwwww Mrs Moon, Barney and Ted mad! god help any rider that got the better of them you'd have Jackie after them closely followed by Mrs Clark! Two of the best supporters any team would be proud to have in their supporters club. Does anyone remember the meeting where Mrs Moon had her leg crushed at Eastbourne when she was trapped under the fence after an accident? Cliff and Maggie and their market stall, Uncle Ted won that many coats from them over the years he never had to buy another, I remember you could even buy a trophy off them to present at the end of the second half! Oh thats it if it's not the Hackney fans making me all nostalgic it's the Rye House fans and if it's not them it's you lot of buggas!

Those were the days!!! I remember "Buzby" being well and truly knocked off his phone perch that day, also when he was told by the ref he was excluded from a re-run and to take a look at the light because his light was showing him excluded he did no more climbed the light stand took the bulb out and smashed it ........ whatever happened to those days when riders got the 'ump and made the crowd cheer with their antics. Yes as Kev says he's really my Uncle and know one is more proud than this lil' ol' niece! Like I've said loads of times in the past (yawn yawn to some) he may never have been World Champion material but he'll always be my hero As for the old "Muvva" comment ..... watch it!

Who Should Ride For The Uk In The Wtc?

That's unfair saying that LW, Middlo has always rated Edward even before he went to Poole, if he thinks Edward or anyone else is ready for WTC then they will almost certainly get the nod manager bias or not Edward is on fire at the moment but if he does get selected it will be because his Team Manager is also TEAM GB manager nothing to do with his ability to hold his own in some eyes. -
Who Should Ride For The Uk In The Wtc?
shazzybird replied to bazaar3's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Why? they've only just come to a decision on the Cardiff Wildcard and anything can happen between now and the WTC. He probably has a shortlist but nothing will be definate yet, especially as he hasn't read any of the comments on here yet to get an idea what we the fans would like to see happen. You know what I was getting at please don't split hairs! You just named 4 of the TOP BRITS from the British Final in there including Edward who you pointed out is not a heat leader. make your mind up either they are good enough to race against the best of the rest or they're not. Anyone can be beaten Crumpy is World Champion and not won a round in the GP's yet and he's supposed to be the best! -

shazzybird replied to bazaar3's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yep the way I see it they can't do any worse than we've done in the past can they, if we don't stand a cat in hells chance with the injuries etc the normal TEAM GB squad are carrying why not prime a team up for the future now. (bias now Mark is out, let's bring in my other favs for me to cheer on ) -

Why not take the top Brits from the British final, ok not everyones favourites are there but they all went out guns blazing to win it last night. You never know til you try something new, who knows they might surprise us all -
Welcome to the forum Kieran, the rumour about Denzil marrying a girl from Eastbourne came from an ex-team mate of his who I will be having words with for getting it wrong I know a few ex-team mates from Canterbury that have been trying to get in contact with him. An email address would be great if you could pm me the details will pass them on if this is not available can pass you the rider details for Denzil to get into contact. Loftys younger brother Baz has been trying to get a contact address for him as well.

Nope nor me Kev will ask Dad when I se him see if he remembers checking his bike not sure when Dad became Machine Examiner and gave up the starting marshall to become pit marshall. Yet I do remember Johnnie Hoskins does that count Dave Piddock I can answer this one, he told me when we met up that his adrenalin rush just went and so he gave up said that if the buzz was not there anymore then it was time to retire, after retiring he never returned to a speedway meeting up until a few years ago, I saw him at Cardiff last year with Bobby Mc and Graham Miles and also is a member of the VSRA WSRA although he didn't attend this year he was there last, with Bobby Mc, Les Rumsey, Uncle Ted and Graham Miles.

Scott Nicholls In The Gps
shazzybird replied to Paula's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Now what if Havvy wins on Monday and becomes the GP Wildcard for Cardiff? OK so it's only one meeting but it's everyman for himself in the GP's we all know that. Havvy could do himself and Scott a favour next week
