  1. If only you knew TC just how brave I am
  2. Although SKY has helped put speedway back on the map, I think when it's on tv., a lot more tend to sit at home and watch it rather than travel and pay to get in. Although you dont get the same atmosphere you see the race from every angle and can get a cup of tea to your taste at home. I have a friend who toyed with the idea of travelling to Wolves yesterday, instead it was on SKY so stayed at home and watched it instead. Yes I could put up with listening to Sir Kelv during a meeting on tv whats wrong with him, he has lots of enthusiasm and a passion for the sport in general.
  3. Maggie I did email LL but not sure if she got it or not.
  4. Bailie House Sturminster Marshall Wimbourne Dorset BH21 4AE....... www.middleditchsalvage.com have a look at his site.
  5. Why not treat yourself and stay at Middlos if theres any room left?
  6. Lets hope not, by all accounts someone at the meeting last night said there were no accidents I think is probably more an incident, I've heard he clipped the fence and like I say being out of this meeting is purely precaution.
  7. Gary Havelock is taking the place of Mark in tonights meeting against Denmark no news on Marks injury at the moment.
  8. Mark Loram is out of the meeting tonight as far as I can make out had an accident last night in a Polish meeting and has pulled out a precaution, just waiting for Tabby to get back online with more information
  9. Hot off the press Mark Loram was injured in a meeting last night and has pulled out of this evenings meeting against Denmark. Clipped into the fence, he's pulled out of the meeting as precaution.

  11. xx Might make one of the meetings at Eastie but saving myself for Poole and Monkey World thanks to Tabby xxxx
  12. Canterbury --------- It was Home on a Saturday Hackney ------------ It was Home on a Friday Rye House ---------- It was HOme on a Sunday Mildenhall Best Onions Rings in the country!

  15. TMC take no notice of Iris it's her age Excellent publication roll on the next one
  16. Shazzybird decided bladder to close to the eyes again got very emotional reading the Joe Owen write up and then seeing Uncle Teds picture remembering Wimbledon like it was yesterday. Shazzy having a big gob shouted across the dog track to Unc as he was being chaperoned round with some ol' slap pretty young lady "UNCLE TED" amazingly ( ) he heard me over the top of all those Ellesmere Port fans for Jacko, he looked over shouted "Hiya Shazz" and this girl next to me said "Is he really your uncle" proud as punch I said "Yep Really" ok so he was never World Champ and he never won the NLRC he made the rostrum each time he went there one 2nd and two 3rds but he was my hero and today I still love him as much. He's had a lot of fans over the year but I think I own the title "#1 fan" Thanks Backtrack Editorial Staff and TMC for bringing the 70's/80s back to life for me, I harp on about the past but for anyone who wasn't there .... Unfortunately You Missed Out

  19. Just received mine off to get the kids from school now a little early but need to sit quietly in the car and read it cover to cover without interuptions. It's the best magazine I've ever subscribed to apart from here that is, this place is more uptodate than the Speedway Star we just miss the piccies thats all
  20. err,i think you want to read Shazzy`s post that K.M has quoted and it says "the last apprentice hangman at Tyburn Ok smarty pants Iris (sorry Norbold I did say it as I must of misunderstood what I was told (again)) Apparently as the story goes he changed his name by deed pole to Tyburn Gallows because he was the last apprentice hangman in Britain and Tyburn was one of the most infamous gallows in the country. Tyburn/Raymond call him what you like, he was obviously proud of the fact that this was his chosen career if he wanted to tell the "story" then sobeit at the end of the day whether he was making it up or not that was what we were told and that is what we believe. My Dad was his mechanic at Canterbury and he said he was a very lively character but really didn't think he told little fibs then again why would he have to as there are so many people on here willing to correct anything that anyone ever writes surely he would be found out

    Programmes

I'm not going to get into that one again thanks for the invite last night I received a very nasty email from a relative of the Canterbury Promotion. I really don't see waht your point is about the programmes if you were about when Johnnie Hoskins was there the programmes always had good write ups in them we still have a load in my parents loft and before you ask for them Mick the answer is NO
