You know i cant believe here we are just over a month away from the start of the NL Season, and team Buxton have not announced there full line up, i dont know if you have season tickets up there, but if you do,it certainly wont help boost the sales of them. I know if i were a supporter of Buxton i wouldnt be very happy with this delayed announcement. Maybe when the first meeting comes around there will be three blank spaces in the program for the three unannounced riders,

Yes this availability for 16 meetings has only come to light recently, I have never been aware of it, and to my knowledge, has never been publicly stated before, lack of support will NOT be a valid reason, indeed most Heathens fans would want more meetings rather than less, whatever the reason, then it needs to be looked at, as i think a planned minimum of 16meetings + plus P, Offs and KO Cups, would be more realistic, once again in my opinion Promoters have failed to realise, once supporters get out of the habit, its not easy to get them back, Tuesday night is Heathens Night or maybe once again, we should have a few meetings at Perry Barr .

The problem is, When wolves speedway ran a Conference side people saw it as junior or inferior racing, same at Coventry, Poole, Newport, Armadale, Belle Vue, Rye House to a point, KL struggle to attract crowds, its not the product its the perception. If Newport solely had British League racing <NL> yes the crowds would be down, but i still think it would survive, such as what Stoke did in 2011.

Maybe then there should be an alternative to the BSPA, i really like the idea of PL Teams wanting to drop down, and if the League was run correctly, i can see more teams doing that. such as Newport, it wouldnt be a great disaster if they followed Stoke into the NL, ie the Provincial League and the National League in the early sixties, why not call it the "British League" after all that is what this is really all about, encouraging BRITISH riders, the name is on the Tin.

Nigels reply is that we only have Monmore available for 16 meetings, now i have never been aware that this was the case, April to October roughly 28 weeks, of which we can use the Track 16 times. I hope the reason isnt to do with the greyhounds, because almost every Tuesday Monmore have Dog trialling sessions, so that cant be a valid reason for only having 16 meetings, so at a guess it must be a contractual thing

I await the announcement later today of the New Riders Coach, to assist Will P the Team manager, and obviously the riders, the word on the social network sites is it could well be Former World champ, and Heathens favourite Jan O Pederson, it is known that he is house hunting in the local area again, if it is, then it can only be good news for riders and team alike, bring it on.

Again junior, you miss read what he is saying, Nathan cant make the sums add up, jesus guys, have none of you been in the situation, of earning less than you are spending, you cant keep dipping into the savings you know, thats if people have any left. Gc, i dont think it is about Nathan being misguided, probably more about it being un economic, ie he cant afford to ride for them. as he doesnt have enough money coming in.

Remember The Heathens Chairman has the ear of some high up people at the BSPA, so for them to suggest NL Teams have, A fixtures against all teams, and B fixtures against SOME Teams, it must have been spoken about at the pre agm. It is an idea that is a complete joke, and one that i am wholeheartedly against. Much better that we have a meaningful early season competition such as a National Trophy ridden on a league format, for say the first month of the season for Clubs that do want to enter, such as probably Stoke, Mildenhall, The Heathens, Buxton, and maybe Rye House, i didnt put IOW in there b,cuz the main holiday season is not at that time, Then we could have a play off final double leg for the Trophy if that was what was wanted.

I just hope we dont go down the road of riding against SOME teams twice, that is absolutely farcicle, and a completely stupid idea either ride against ALL teams twice or dont bother. Far better to arrange An NL Shield mini league for the Top 4, and a NL Trophy mini League for the bottom four, that will give everyone 3 extra meetings. Also 8 Teams, means there can Be an NL Junior Championship, to be raced for, by the two reserves of each Team.

I saw on the heathens facebook page, that we may ride against SOME teams twice, that is absolute nonsense, and its against all teams twice or not at all.

You know with all the talk of good crowds down at Plymouth, i wouldnt be surprised to see Mike Bowden running an NL team for 2012, may be worthwhile running under an Exeter banner or something like that.

Really dissapointed to read this, the NL really needs more teams,especially from North of Stoke and Buxton.

3 Jobs! so he could get back on Track, well he certainly deserves some luck, anyway MM YOU know the Heathens fans as well as anyone, and if they can see he is trying, YOU know they will get behind him, whilst we may not come up with a main sponsor, i am sure they will come up with bits and pieces, and HSSC does a fair bit with the 50/50 draw.

Great stuff, we finally got one rider that i hoped would sign for us, we seem to have a competitive Team right from 1 to 7, i wish all the riders the best for 2012, and especially our three new riders JWW, BB, and DG. To be honest, things had to change after the disapointments of last season, our final points tally was just not good enough, and to finish 7th out of 10 teams,when at one time we were top, that really said it all, i applaud the management for taking the decisions that they have, sometimes its hard on riders, some more than others, but i would like to thank Armo, Richard Franklin, and Danny Stoneman for there efforts over the past season and more, and i wish them well in there efforts to find other Teams, if they do, and then come back and score well against us, I for one wont begrudge them that. At the moment we have a competitive Team, but so do Stoke and i really fancy Mildenhalls line up, that is looking good at the moment, but i think we may have the edge over both of them down at the bottom end, and Royno for me, is the stand out NL rider, lets hope he can have an injury free 2012.

Very rarely go to Club website, unless i want to check an official figure, there again maybe i am one of the exceptions.

Seems that we have signed our final rider, and it will be announced tomorrow night, you know it does my head in when Teams do this. Why dont they just announce we have signed so and so rider, blah,blah,blah. Instead we get this announcement that it will be revealed in 2/3 days time as to who it is that we have signed.

Yes, and therefore when richie moved up, that gave you another strong guy down at reserve, not disputing the fact Scunthorpe won the League, you deserved it, I think overall your guys started on a combined average well under 40, and finished on a combined average of over 48. But the fact remains, that i think the Title winning Team will need a reserve who is capable of scoring double figures, just my opinion but recent seasons have proven this.

I must admit, i was rather surprised to read the announcement that The Heathens management are in talks with 4 riders for the final team spot, I can think of two, ie Daniel Greenwood, and Nathan Stoneman, who the others may be is somehing of a mystery. I regard this last signing as being a very important one, because recent NL History has shown the need for Teams who aspire to lifting trophies to have more than an adequate 3 poiner, it needs a rider who is able from time to time to beat the more established riders at home or away, We have Richie Worral a Scunny last year, Nick Morris the year before at Buxton, Jerran Hart prior to that at Bournemouth, so as to who the 4 riders are in question, would anyone care to guess.?
