  1. I disagree if Henning Bager and J Sedgman are at reserv, Bager would be a good reserve in the PL not the EL
  2. Bit suprised to see Ben win it considering it certainly was not a weak field. Not really sure why firiegn teams have not selected him, there loss. He's a grafter and I really hope he continues to get better. He's certainly got the confidence and I see him being Britain's No1 in 2 or 3 years Just my 2 pence worth Fisher will be ready by next Friday that is for sure!
  3. I think its great Ben is doing another year in the PL. He was magnificent in both matches I saw at the SBA unbeaten in both meetings. Certainly kept the intrest up for the Plymouth fans paticularly early doors when wins were hard to come by.
  4. Depends its all if's and but's, he could be a very astute signing, that I will say. However Bowden signing Franchetti was quite frankly stupid and probably ended Plymouth's chances of winning the PL title!
  5. Certainly agree with your first point! Did think Boxall's return to Rye House would have been the catalyst for him, he did have some good scores.... This IS probably his last chance with no Newport (at the moment sadly) competition for places is going to be tougher than ever before. He's certainly got the talent and the ability to score heavily at home but it really is up to him!
  6. Never really worked with Bunyan did it, looked a shadow of his former self when Plymouth visited Shielfield!
  7. I don't think Berwick will do a Newport at all but I think Plymouth's crowds are healthier than Berwick's I also think Plymouth's septet will cost less, admittedly Plymouth dont have the GP challenge. I still dont get your point about Plymouth doing a Newport, have you been to the SBA? its a hot bed of Speedway apart from when the lights go out in Heat One!
  8. What is a Berwick fan querying another team's crowds for? Plymouth and Berwick could both make the Top 6, bit of a turnaround from last year that is for sure!
  9. Berwick's team is sure not cheap, though we don't have Fisher or Barker we have strength in depth. I'd say there is more chance of Berwick doing a "Newport" than Plymouth. I am sure John and his chums would happily accept the Devils turnout on a regular occurance.
  10. Unlike Newport Plymouth get more than 300-400 per home match possibly this season 4x that. Ben Barker's interview was very intresting on Tuesday night, his thoughts on Fisher will certainly make Heat 13 and 15 intresting. Personally I think they will be top riders this season and the pairing will be dynamite!
  11. PL CHAMPIONS: Somerset FOURS WINNERS: Berwick PAIRS WINNERS: Plymouth TOP OF PL AVERAGES: Charlie Gjedde, Ben Barker, Ryan Fisher, at a push I'd say our "mate" Charlie! BEST NEWCOMER: Rohan Tungate MOST POINTS ADDED TO STARTING AVERAGE: Alex Edberg WOODEN SPOON TEAM IN PL: Glasgow
  12. Kenni Larsen didn't have an El place until very late last year, he was around a similar average to Fisher. I'd say they both were class acts in 2010 (Larsen that is. No1's ask for top money because they deserve it. James Wright probably was cheaper than Fisher but tell me the last time when Ryan Fisher scored 0 at Ashfield, or 3 at Berwick ... get my drift. Fisher isn't everyone's cup of tea but we need him in the PL, its as simple as that
  13. Fish is a class act at this level not sure why he hasn't got a place in the EL! If you would rather have Kristiansen, Franchetti or Smart in your team or pay to watch them against your home team Workington? Or are one of those supporters who wants the meeting over by Heat 9? British Speedway needs as many 110% commited Speedway riders and Fisher though an ex Monarch is one of those!
  14. Excellent signing, great to have Ryam Fisher back in the PL
  15. Surely Fisher is chomping at the bit for the regular action?
  16. I thought Plymouth's team was confirmed last week??
  17. Struggling? with an average gate of 1.5k-2k give me a break? If he is losing money with those sort of numbers through the turnstiles, how much are "properly run" Speedway clubs losing? I have found a few things that have been printed in the Star untrue and I wouldn't trust a word Bowden says. He said at the final meeting vs Edinburgh, "We will be back bigger better and stronger next year" and are they? which one is it Mike?
  18. Is Bowden putting together these poor teams together purposely? minimal points scoring and relying on the big crowds at the SBA. Plymouth is one of the very fewv enues left in the UK wkere Speedway is still very well attended. Hopefully he sells, his buisness intrest is not to make Plymouth Speedway a professional club but to line his own fat pocket. On the bright Barker Ashworth and hopefully will carry the fight, unsure about the other 4 (personally)
  19. Have Boxall Ashworth and Holder signed though? still nothing on the BSPA site
  20. I think its gone really fast to be honest, only 2 months to go now I'd be itching to see Ipswich paticularly your reserve pairing
