  1. If they have lost 50K this year, scoring 9 points all season how much more money would Glasgow have lost say had they put together a side (who finished 7th). How are other clubs running with similar crowds and paying out more points money?
  2. Intrestingly Kenneth Hansen who stuggled here did well at Leicester and Coventry. While Jamrog struggled at Coventry... I reckon 8.5 would be achieveable, injuries hindered him this year. He was going pretty good (score-wise) before the injury. Be curious to see what the final PL teams look like come March 2014 (and what teams are racing at PL level). I don't think the quality will drop too much, admittedly I wouldn't think Cook and Doyle will be PL next year.
  3. I don't know what he was on at Redcar but it certainly makes you wonder. Maybe preparing bikes for the EL took its toll, maybe Dyer realised life at the top level wasnt all fun and frolics. That being said he made great strides in 2013. The performances I saw from him at Berwick were very impressive, bikes looked very quick. A Berwick fan commented to me maybe he had rode himself out of a team place for 2014. Good rider maybe not No1 standard but a Heat leader.Remember when Wilkinson had has golden spell in the PL a few years ago with Scunthorpe, banging the points in left right and Charlie. While doing this he was appearing for Ippo in the EL and not scoring many points and that was what was losing him money. It's a shame this is happening to the lads who ride in this country. Speedway used to be a living for these blokes at one point. Yet you get foreign blokes who can afford to sign for our clubs and miss meetings if and when suited. While there is the argument the UK should have a single race night. I like the fact we have had a spread of meetings throughout the week I think it makes us unique. Thankfully we didnt cave into that to suit into the foriegn riders schedules...
  4. Disgrace in 2009 when Barker wasn't allowed to double up in my opinion. As much as Dave Tattum came across as a moron. I actually agreed with him 100%. Yes rules are rules and Ben was 0.4 over but even still... Farcial in my opinion Admittedly Dyer's scores slackened off but we've heard the odd rumour odd about Dyer then again scoring paid 16-17 points and returning doesn't sound right. Poor with his money or just "another" speedway myth.
  5. I do find it worrying Micky Dyer cant afford to race British Speedway, from a financial point of view. Just where is the money going? Seem to be losing a lot more riders these days..
  6. I think its a good idea, I agree with the point about I'd rather guys were riding solely in the UK (admittedly in 2 leauges) as opposed too riding in the 3 or 4 different countries week in- week out. Dont see why Doyle and Cook should be punished for it. Whether they make it abroad is another matter
  7. Hope Somerset go on and win the final, best team all season be good to see the Rebels take it
  8. Dyer wont be back, Skidmore I'd imagine is nailed on....
  9. Which ones were decent teams? I'll be interested in your reply Screm
  10. Well we have neither so really mid table is about the best we can hope for, as long as the boys are having a good time playing crazy golf on race days. It's not bad luck, we're just not very good
  11. Berwick will be mid table..... lets not kid ourselves here lads
  12. Could Linus Sundstrom be PL bound? If so Sundstrom, Hawkins, Bunyan, Bellego, Smith, Wilko, Carr Cheers
  13. I read certain posts and think, thank the lord I an Rae is team manager. I dread to think what would happen to the club if some posters on here had a say in team matters.... Cheers
  14. The team were not strong enough, End Off
  15. So, who are we signing for 2014? No one is making up any silly rumours at the moment, which means we must be deep in negotations with all these blokes Razor says wants to don the Bandits Black and Gold. How about 1. Oliver Allen 2. David Bellego 3. Josef Franc 4. Matej Kus 5. Stuart Robson (now that he's on the decline) 6. Liam Carr 7. Paul Starke A team of commited guys right there, if they can gate, race on a grippy but not too grippy track, deal with the inconsistancies of referees, race on slick tracks, attend all matches (not just the first 5), could be the team that packs Shielfield to the rafters. BigEddie may very well see the Bandits lift there first trophy since 1991.
  16. Heard in the latter part of the season this very possibly would be Glasgow's last. Personally I think the promotion put a team out destined to flop, whether Biggart new this pre-season (if he didnt) more fool him. No number one in site no James Grieves two things you associate with Glasgow. Stadium is a complete mess realistically who is going to want to take over Glasgow? Feel sorry for the fans, I will remember them for the entertaining riders they always had and great champions of 2011
  17. But as I wrote in a post a few weeks ago. John said in a interview with GRT media (pre season I think) that he had assembled 7 riders who were not just turning up for pocket money. Reading between the lines obviously riders have done this... but it probably happens at all clubs, too some degree more than others. I totally agreed with John on this, yet we carried two riders for most of the campaign Some will argue Aspegren maybe wasn't suited to Shielfield, looking at his Swedish scores and home track in Sweden, while maybe not as banked as Berwick was fast, big and in Hammarby's case very slick. Yet another Swede smashing Bogdanovs, AJ and Lindback on the Thursday then coming to Berwick and managing 2,3,2,0 against the might of Doolan, Lanham and Morten Risager. It was interesting this paticular rider stated how he regretted leaving Berwick, maybe because we tolerated his inconsistancies or new no better. Either way he had the talent to be a much better rider. Totally agree Scott Wethers has done a honourable job for the Bandits, Smith and Bellego definitely go the extra yard wider where other riders wouldn't. While I don't into buy all the Ricky was a No1 malarky. What I liked about Ricky was his professional approach, scoring the points week in week out, no missed meetings, no going Mike Tyson in the pits just coming in and doing a job. Currently I don't think it is so simple for Berwick to just have a good team going on our past years. But I look forward to seeing what happens in the coming weeks.
  18. But my question would be why is this continuously happening?
