  1. Ah, guess that possible then, because the European Youth Speedway is held in Vissenbjerg on August 1st-2nd. So whoever is picked to represent Sweden for EYS will ride the test match, I presume? Time will tell.
  2. Sweet dreams! No, I haven't heard anything. I've been to the Swedish Youth Championship Qualifier 1 today, and talked to several parents to riders going to FIM Youth Trophy in Rybnik in July, and they didn't mention anything about test matches. I also know one of the members of the youth committee, and I'm sure he would have told me if that was the case. So if I'm not kept in the dark...
  3. So, top 6 advances to the final I guess, since it was 5+1 from each of the other two semifinals. Laguta, Lampart and Conda looks like potential top 3 men, with Hadek and Dudek as two of the other probable finalists and a Polish battle for the 6th spot? Eh, what do I know...
  4. Agree, this looks to be a cracker in comparison to the other qualifying rounds. I wonder if I could clone myself so I could be in Cardiff (where I'll actually be, but looks the 3rd most interesting meeting to me), Kumla for the 2nd semifinal of the U21 World Championship or Gorican for this exciting looking meeting. Stupid FIM fixture list!
  5. Västervik and Linköping are two of the easiest track to find I think. For the Västervik track, it is only one exit from route E22 towards Västervik city, and the track is located to the left after possibly 2 km off the E22. You can't miss it. For Linköping, go for route 35 towards Västervik/Åtvidaberg. As you exit the city, follow signs for "Motorstadion" to your right.
  6. Of course, here you go: "I don't care how it goes" Scratched - then the speedway star rages against Dackarna The successful Dackarna team are rocked by a schism since veteran Peter Karlsson was left out of the team. Karlsson reacted hard against him being scratched. -"If I'm not in the team, I don't care how it goes, If I'm honest, Peter Karlsson says to Sportbladet. Målilla outfit Dackarna lost the against Elit Vetlanda. Afterwards, all the talk was about why Peter Karlsson, aged 39, had been left out of Dackarna's line-up. -"I have no comments about that" says team manager Morgan Andersson. For Peter Karlsson, being left out of a line-up hasn't happened since he made the debut with Örnarna back in 1985. Choosed Martin Timell When he couldn't race in the top meeting, he didn't care to watch the meeting, neither on TV or at the track. He choose to see "Äntligen hemma" (popular TV programme about house renovations) instead. -"If I'm not in the team, I don't care how it goes. But someone called and said it didn't go very well for Dackarna". -"But that's not fun. You really want to be there when it's a derby clash and at my favourite track". The reason Peter Karlsson was scratched from the top meeting was that the team management wanted to test Dane Kenneth Bjerre. But Peter Karlsson was very surprised to say the least. "Don't understand why" -"I don't understand why, and I told them that when I got the message. I'll see if I race in the next meeting, I hope so, but the decision is in the hands of Dackarna. Even the expert commentator on Canal+, former Team Sweden manager Mats Olsson, was surprised. -"I wouldn't have scratched Karlsson in this meeting, especially since Karlsson rides very well in Vetlanda.
  7. I'm shocked! Interesting signing in the long term perspective I guess. I have seen him twice on Polish TV broadcasting and he sure had a great meeting at Torun's new stadium (3,3,1,R,0), and being a rocket from the gate certainly is good start. Vargarna are in town (Vetlanda) on Tuesday and I hope they bring two of the trio of Woffinden, Kus and/or Dudek instead of some of the old-hands or short track specialists.
  8. Anyone who have ridden in Sweden before? It could be Charlie Gjedde...

After the fantastic semifinals between the two teams last September, this can hardly be described as a classic derby clash. A few good heats were served, though far apart. Highlights being Hampel's last bend blast around against Bjerre in heat 3, the Hampel/Jonasson maximum against GP riders Jonsson (tactical substitution) and Andersen, Jonsson/Lindgren's maximum against a chasing Hampel in heat 13, but most of all a fantastic heat 14 which was worth the admission money alone! Elit Vetlanda (home) 55 1. Lee Richardson 0-3-2-3-3 = 11 (5) 2. Peter Ljung 2-1*-0-0 = 3+1 (4) 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 3-3-3-1-2* = 12+1 (5) 4. Thomas H Jonasson 0-0-2*-0 = 2+1 (4) 5. Ludvig Lindgren 1-0-N-0 = 1 (3) 8. Niklas Larsson For Elit Vetlanda, Richardson had an uncharacteristic bad first outing, but overall is rock solid as third heat leader. Ljung was a bit more into the races than the score suggest, but a paid four is not good enough at home. Hampel has a dud ride in 90% of his meetings, this one was no exception, but can always be counted upon to deliver heat victories. Jonasson was slow all night, but somehow managed to fend off Jonsson in heat 8. Crump had to work some for his points today, he might have actually enjoyed that. Hougaard blew hot and cold, go figure. Gomolski did a great job as a No 7, mainly thanks to good gating, however a paid eight seems well paid for the job done. For Dackarna, Jonsson produced some exciting races, as well as racking up points. Wasn't close in his last, but nevertheless deserved his score. Schlein was way better than before in Vetlanda, beat an opponent in each of his heats and you really can't ask for more than that. A pleasent surprise. Bjerre looked slow and passive for most of the night. Lindgren had one of his better Vetlanda meeting for ages, but earned it all for sure. Andersen had a fighting third outing for the Dackarna outfit, but one can wonder if he should have had that (a third outing) in the first place. Klindt was a disappointment after his splendid effort in the semifinals last year, thought it has to be said that the opposition was much tougher at reserve this time. Lindgren did what could be expected around this track. Man of the match: Jason Crump Most exciting rider: Andreas Jonsson *-*-* CURRENT STANDING: 1. Elit Vetlanda, 6, 5-1-0, 11p (+78) 2. 10. Well, well, that makes it an much more interesting meeting, for sure.
  11. PREVIEW OF SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 7 Tuesday June 9th 2009 PIRATERNA - IKAROS SMEDERNA at Lastpartner Arena, Motala Piraterna have hit 60+ points in both their home meetings so far, against Lejonen and Vargarna respectively. They are once again missing the services of Emil Sajfutdinov, but stand-in Rafal Okoniewski has been scoring well, with a paid ten last week as an example. The personal average has forced one change, with Antonio Lindbäck dropping to reserve, while Daniel Nermark takes his place in the main body of the team. For Ikaros Smederna, Wieslaw Jagus are missing for unknown reasons, and his place will be taken by Robert Miskowiak who makes his season debut for the Eskilstuna team. This change will no doubt make it near to impossible for the away team to take anything away from this one. The most interesting thing isn't if Piraterna will win, but if Lindbäck will take his third straight home maximum? Will Miskowiak take his chance? Can Kasprzak break his bad slump? Piraterna (home) 1. Rafal Dobrucki 2. Rafal Okoniewski 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Damian Balinski 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Linus Sundström 7. Antonio Lindbäck ( 8. Thimm P Norberg ) Ikaros Smederna (away) 1. Robin Bergqvist ) *-*-* VÄSTERVIK - ROSPIGGARNA at Sparbanken Arena Västervik Västervik can finally bolster one of their standard line-ups, as their injury lists have gotten smaller. Tomasz Gapinski have - once again - been scheduled to make his Västervik debut, and thereby pushing Chris Harris down to reserve where he'll join Anton Rosén, one of the biggest surprise packages of the 2009 Elitserien season. Rospiggarna will have to wait another week for the Sebastian Ulamek transfer to be finalized at the federation (all roster movements will be done on Friday), so Henrik Gustafsson and Chris Slabon will likely have to show some promise if not to be a line-up casualty when Ulamek enters the squad. Västervik (home) 1. Bjarne Pedersen 2. Tomasz Gapinski 3. Niels-Kristian Iversen 4. Grigorijs Laguta 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Chris Harris 7. Anton Rosén ( 8. Pontus Aspgren ) Rospiggarna (away) 1. Robin Burestad ) *-*-* VARGARNA - INDIANERNA at Norrköping's Motorstadion After an abandoned meeting (due to rain) last week, Vargarna are hoping to finish all 16 heats on Tuesday night. From the line-up that was supposed to meet Västervik, Joe Screen has been left out and replaced by countrymen Tai Woffinden. Fellow Brit Edward Kennett have also been left out of Tuesday's line-up, with Niklas Klingberg getting a chance at reserve. The injury to Simon Gustafsson has been a problem for Indianerna, but now they can welcome him back to the line-up, alongside Leon Madsen. These riders are replacing the duo of Matej Ferjan and Niklas Eriksson, while Jesper B Monberg steps up in the main body of the team after a successful meeting last week. He could be in for another good score as he rides on one of his former tracks, but how the three heat leaders will handle the tight Norrköping track is written in the stars. Vargarna (home) 1. Scott Nicholls 2. Adam Skornicki 3. Adrian Miedzinski 4. Tai Woffinden 5. Adam Shields 6. Niklas Klingberg 7. Kim Nilsson ( 8. Jonas Andersson ) Indianerna (away) 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2. David Rohlén ) *-*-* ELIT VETLANDA - DACKARNA at Vetlanda Motorstadion After an impressive draw at Lejonen two weeks ago, Elit Vetlanda have still opted to make some changes ahead of this derby clash, as Karol Zabik and Sebastian Aldén have been replaced by home track specialist Peter Ljung and Polish reserve Adrian Gomolski. All in all an expected line-up by the home side. A bit more surprising is the move in the Dackarna camp, scratching Peter Karlsson in favour of Kenneth Bjerre. "PK" usually rides very well in Vetlanda and can always be expected to produce stiff opposition for the home riders. Bjerre is however no slouch around Vetlanda either, and this could very well be an exciting and close meeting, with the memory of last year's semifinal in mind. This meeting will be broadcasted by Canal+. Elit Vetlanda (home) 1. Lee Richardson 2. Peter Ljung 3. Jaroslaw Hampel 4. Thomas H Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Patrick Hougaard 7. Adrian Gomolski ( 8. Robin Aspegren ) Dackarna (away) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Rory Schlein 3. Kenneth Bjerre 4. Fredrik Lindgren 5. Hans Andersen 6. Nicolai Klindt 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Niklas Larsson ) *-*-* Lejonen doesn't ride this week. *-*-* All meetings can be followed on www.speedway.nu (official) or www.elitspeedway.nu (unofficial) from 19:00 local time.
  12. If there has been no changes, it's a 13:00 start according to previously released information by SVEMO. Can't find any other information on Västervik's website.
  13. Southern District Youth Championship - Round 2: The second smallest youth track in Sweden produced some exciting speedway, despite quite a few ruts on the track. The trio of Engdahl, Thörnblom and Thorssell are the top three in the southern district, and also took the rostrum places in this second round which produced no major chocks even though the 8th place for Anton Bredin was a pleasent surprise. No run-off is held to seperate the top three in each round, as all places are decided by countback. However, if there are tied scores for the top three in the aggregate championship after all rounds, then there will be run-off(s). Jacob Thorssell and Mathias Thörnblom are tied with 26 points each with one round to go (Västervik on August 30th), while the fight for the bronze medal should be between Jonas Engdahl (22p), Kenny Wennerstam (21p), Björn Nilsson (21p) and possibly - but not likely - Västervik rider Oskar Karlsson (19p). 1) (15) Jonas Engdahl, Dackarna, 14p ( 3 3 3 2 3 ) 2) (14) Mathias Thörnblom, Gnistorna, 14p ( 2 3 3 3 3 ) 3) (11) Jacob Thorssell, Elit Vetlanda, 12p ( 3 2 2 3 2 ) 4) (12) Björn Nilsson, Gnistorna, 11p ( 2 2 2 2 3 ) 5) (6) Tobias Nilsson, Västervik, 10p ( R 2 3 3 2 ) 6) (9) Kenny Wennerstam, Elit Vetlanda, 9p ( 1 3 2 0 3 ) 7) (5) André Karlsson, Västervik, 9p ( 3 1 1 3 1 ) 8) (4) Anton Bredin, Dackarna, 8p ( 3 3 1 1 0 ) 9) (1) Oskar Karlsson, Västervik, 7p ( 2 2 1 1 1 ) 10) (13) Henric Lindqvist, Elit Vetlanda, 6p ( 1 0 3 2 0 ) 11) (8) Freddie Broms, Dackarna, 6p ( 2 T 1 1 2 ) 12) (7) Rasmus G Strandberg, Elit Vetlanda, 4p ( 1 1 2 0 0 ) 13) (3) André Koch, Gislaveds MK, 4p ( 1 0 0 2 1 ) 14) (2) Joel Kling, Dackarna, 2p ( 0 0 0 0 2 ) 15) (10) Andreas Runesson, Elit Vetlanda, 2p ( 0 1 0 1 0 ) 16) (16) Johan Jensen, Dackarna, 2p ( 0 1 0 0 1 ) Heat details, courtesy of Swedish Speedway Result's website, www.speedwayresultat.com. Southern District U23 Championship: Robin Aspegren won a fairly entertaining U23 championship, in a spectactular run-off with a hard chasing Robert Pettersson. The two had meet in heat 8 with Pettersson passing Aspegren on the final bend, and it looked like a repeat in the run-off as it looked like Pettersson had made the pass, but Aspegren found some final grip on the outside to hold on for a win. Home rider Anton Göthberg, who have missed a lot of time due to injury, produced some fine rides and may I say that I'm very happy for him. Top bloke, and a top father, who have helped me out several times when needing a guest for various teams throughout previous season. Great to see him back in top form! Christian Isomettä probably feels disappointed as he missed the two minute time allowance in the crucial heat 11 against Göthberg and Pettersson, and therefore had almost no chance of winning this meeting. 1) (4) Robin Aspegren, Elit Vetlanda, 14p ( 3 2 3 3 3 ) +3 2) (8) Robert Pettersson, Lejonen, 14p ( 3 3 2 3 3 ) +2 3) (14) Anton Göthberg, Lejonen, 13p ( 3 3 3 2 2 ) 4) (12) Anders Mellgren, Elit Vetlanda, 12p ( 2 1 3 3 3 ) 5) (9) Christian Isomettä, Dackarna, 11p ( 3 3 M 2 3 ) 6) (6) Ted Hagansbo, Elit Vetlanda, 8p ( 2 2 3 1 R ) 7) (5) Tim Gudmunsson, Dackarna, 8p ( 1 2 2 2 1 ) 8) (10) Olof Nilsson, Dackarna, 7p ( 1 1 1 3 1 ) -) (3) Oliver Berntzon, Solkatterna, 7p ( 1 2 1 1 2 ) 9) (2) Mikael Berntsson, Gnistorna, 6p ( 2 0 1 1 2 ) 10) (11) Joel Larsson, Dackarna, 5p ( T 3 R 2 0 ) 11) (7) Pontus Sundström, Dackarna, 5p ( 0 1 2 1 1 ) 12) (13) Kalle Fleetwood-Carlsson, Dackarna, 3p ( 1 1 0 0 1 ) 13) (15) Jonas Einarsson, Dackarna, 2p ( 0 0 0 0 2 ) 14) (1) Albin Näreby, Gnistorna, 2p ( 0 R 2 0 0 ) 15) (16) Eric Åshede, Dackarna, 2p ( 2 0 M 0 0 ) Heat details, courtesy of Swedish Speedway Result's website, www.speedwayresultat.com. Looking at the previously announced line-up, there were some changes: Niklas Larsson had to withdraw due to work commitments, being replaced by Albin Näreby. Dennis Andersson had to withdraw due to suffering a concussion in Denmark on Wednesday, being replaced by Oliver Berntzon who rode "outside the competition" as he doesn't ride for a southern district club, or for a team with a co-operation deal with a southern district club. (However, Oliver lives in Gislaved and being a previous Lejonen youth rider, he was a perfect choice to make it a complete field) Robin Zymek also had to withdraw, but I don't know the reason.
  14. Unless ACU (in association with FIM) can swap places between Lewis and Tai, so that Tai races in Hungary and Lewis in Sweden. It has happened before that riders from the same federation can swap places like this.
  15. Apparently Nicolai Klindt had been excluded for touch/tape in heat 2, and was replaced by Niklas Larsson.

  17. Yes, I remember the last regular season meeting of the 2007 season, and Miskowiak rode very well in that Smederna vs Elit Vetlanda meeting. He also have some decent form for his Polish team Ostrow this season, though perhaps not sensational, at least looking as his scores.
  18. PREVIEW OF ELITSERIEN ROUND 6 Tuesday June 2nd 2009 Elit Vetlanda will not ride this week, but the other meetings are: DACKARNA - LEJONEN at G&B Arena, Målilla Dackarna are missing the services of Grzegorz Zengota who crashed in practise before last week's meeting, but with Rory Schlein back in the line-up, Dackarna are fielding one of the "standard" line-ups. Lejonen have bigger problems though, with Chris Holder and Nicki Pedersen being out with injury and Leigh Adams obviously unavailable for this one (why?). Assuming Riders Replacement will be used for Nicki (as he has been nominated as No 2, it looks likely), the Lions have replaced Holder, Adams, Suchecki and Pedersen with Watt, Ulamek, Swiderski and R/R from last week. Dackarna (home) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Rory Schlein 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Hans Andersen 6. Ludvig Lindgren 7. Nicolai Klindt ( 8. Niklas Larsson ) Lejonen (away) 1. Dave Watt 2. Nicki Pedersen R/R? 3. Sebastian Ulamek 4. David Ruud 5. Piotr Swiderski 6. Dennis Andersson 7. Ricky Kling ( 8. Robert Pettersson ) *-*-* IKAROS SMEDERNA - ROSPIGGARNA at Smedstadion, Eskilstuna The thought by team manager Bosse Jansson was that Martin Vaculik should replace Krzysztof Buczkowski from the 52-44 winning team against Indianerna last week, but an injury sustained in Poland on Sunday forced the Slovak to withdraw, and being replaced by Krzysztof Buczkowski who rode in the team last week. Rospiggarna have left Charlie Gjedde out of the team after his performence at Elit Vetlanda two weeks ago. Chris Slabon gets another shot at second string, but must produce now, otherwise Sebastian Ulamek will be waiting in the wings. Ulamek will move from Lejonen to Rospiggarna when the second transfer period closes, and will be available for Rospiggarna for the league round on June 16th. Ikaros Smederna (home) 1. Krzysztof Kasprzak 2. Magnus Zetterström 3. Daniel King 4. Mikael Max 5. Wieslaw Jagus 6. Linus Eklöf 7. Martin Vaculik Krzysztof Buczkowski ( 8. Robin Bergqvist ) Rospiggarna (away) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Henrik Gustafsson 3. Janusz Kolodziej 4. Chris Slabon 5. Ryan Sullivan 6. Maciej Janowski 7. Jonas Messing ( 8. Robin Burestad ) *-*-* VARGARNA - VÄSTERVIK at Norrköping's Motorstadion The Wolves lost heavily in Motala last week, going down 64-31 against Piraterna, but they will always have the possibility to score well at home, today is no exception. Edward Kennett and Tai Woffinden have been replaced by Joe Screen and Niklas Klingberg, the latter slotting in at reserve. Västervik comes from a moral boosting draw at Dackarna, but still have opted for some changes. Anton Rosén is back from his injury sustained in the Nordic U21 Final in Elgane, and he will team up with former Vargarna rider Kevin Doolan at reserve. AFAIK, Doolan should've ridden last week, but couldn't make the arrangements to get there, and was then replaced by Pontus Aspgren (5 paid 6), who returns to his standard place as the No 8 junior. Vargarna (home) 1. Scott Nicholls 2. Adam Skornicki 3. Adrian Miedzinski 4. Joe Screen 5. Adam Shields 6. Niklas Klingberg 7. Kim Nilsson ( 8. Jonas Andersson ) Västervik (away) 1. Bjarne Pedersen 2. Grigorijs Laguta 3. Chris Harris 4. Niels-Kristian Iversen 5. Tomasz Gollob 6. Anton Rosén 7. Kevin Doolan ( 8. Pontus Aspgren ) *-*-* INDIANERNA - PIRATERNA at Sannahed's Motorstadion (TV-broadcasting by Canal+) Canal+ have made a good choice for their TV-meeting this week, being in place for this local derby. The two teams invested hard during the off season to make them challengers for the Elitserien gold, but both - and especially Indianerna - have had their up-and-downs so far. The Indians gives Matej Ferjan another chance at home (where he can be fantastic) while Jesper B Monberg drops to reserve to replace Renat Gafurov. Niklas Eriksson replaces Alexander Edberg at reserve, but that won't make much of a change as David Rohlén most likely will take his heats, as he have taken Edberg's heat in previous meetings. For Piraterna, Daniel Nermark drops to reserve while Rafal Okoniewski is going the other way. They are once again missing Emil Sajfutdinov, but the Pirates should come to this one with some confidence anyway. They beat Vargarna by a massive 64-31 score last week, have been doing better overall than Indianerna and also won a pre-season challenge at this track back in April. This could be a cracker! Indianerna 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2. Joonas Kylmäkorpi 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Matej Ferjan 5. Rune Holta 6. Jesper B Monberg 7. Niklas Eriksson ( 8. David Rohlén ) Piraterna 1. Jonas Davidsson 2. Damian Balinski 3. Rafal Dobrucki 4. Rafal Okoniewski 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Linus Sundström 7. Daniel Nermark ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) *-*-* All meetings can be followed live on www.speedway.nu (official) or www.elitspeedway.nu (unofficial). Personally, I haven't decided if I should to go to Målilla (only 50 km away, but bad weather expected), find someplace where I can watch the Canal+ meeting, or stay at home and follow the live updates. Time will tell.
  19. Thank you flagrag, that has made my day! I think you have summed it up nicely, I'm afraid... GO SWEDEN!
  20. I know you only posted the link, and you asked me to take no offense by the article, and I don't take any offense from that article, since it is obviously written by an angry fan. (I take offense when serious journalists make non-objective comments, as I think we have had a few away journalists doing that this year. ) Just as I wrote in my previous forum entry. The writer is entitled to his opinion and trying to explain the history behind this, and I don't take any offense from that, as I said. Of course the home team decide how to grade a track, as long as it is deemed "not dangerous" by the referee. It's not the first time a referee has decided to order a re-grade of the track prior to a meeting, it has happened in Målilla as well. I can fully understand the irritation if the referee is inconsistent (and called it raceable at first and not later on), which might have been the case here, from what I have read. That would be a problem. If the referee had given the track the thumbs up at first, and then changed his mind and ordered a re-grading if the conditions hadn't changed, then yes, I guess that would be frustrating. However, in our first league meeting, the referee (Lindroth, actually) order some minor track work very close to the starting time, but if he considered it to be a safety risk, then it's just to start doing that job. What can we do about it?
  21. None taken. I have learned not to read too much into fans' Internet forum opinions regarding meeting reports, as they are often written shortly after the meeting and usually are written in anger/disappointment over something, so it gets so biased it's actually laughable than anything else. I find it more frustrating when actual journalists writes non-objective crap about the opposition team's riders, track, arena, or whatever. Their job actually is to give an objective view of things, not thrashing och ridicule the opposition. The quote above is from the article, and if the writer thinks Holta can't/won't ride on a grippy outside line surface, then he hasn't seen a heat Holta has done throughout his career. If there are one rider who thrives on a grippy outside, it's Holta. Also, if you want to trash the referee in an article, it might be a thrustworthy thing (towards the readers of said article) to be able to write his name correct. As I said, I take no offence from that. However, as I wasn't in Eskilstuna for this meeting, I have no idea what actually happened and can't give an honest opinion of who was right or who was wrong, so I simply won't do that.

Robin Aspegren For Lejonen, Holder was good, but perhaps not as sharp as I feared, however meeting Crump three times obviously limited his scoring. Ruud was lighting fast, and usually brings his "A-game" when facing (one of) his former team, Elit Vetlanda. Adams saved a point for Lejonen when passing Richardson in heat 16, but one heat victory in five outings is not enough. Suchecki was excellent for his starting average of 4.15 in the main body, beating one riders in each of his heats, due to good gating ability. Pedersen didn't make a gate all night and looked nothing like the one he should be. Kling at least won heat 11, which save his night. Andersson was good, and is a solid contributor from the junior position in this team. For Elit Vetlanda, Richardson showed once again that he is - by far - the best Brit in the Swedish league, despite needing a heat to adjust to a track he had never been to (I think). Zabik took Pedersen on a wide trip on the first bend in his third outing, allowing Hampel to fly away in the distance, but otherwise did nothing. Supposedly dropped to fourth on the pecking order among the squad's second strings after this performence. Hampel had one poor heat, as usual, but worth his points. Jonasson was quicker and more "into" the meeting than the score suggest, but withdrew after a heavy crash in his second. Crump, well, what can you say? What a rider! Aldén scored well, even though one or two points more could've been found in the scoresheet. A paid nine is good nevertheless. Hougaard was OK, lost a paid second place in the final bend of heat 11 due to a lost chain. Man of the match: David Ruud (despite his heat 16 last place) Most exciting rider: David Ruud *-*-* Rospiggarna didn't race this week. *-*-* A little bit of both I guess, but mainly becaused the effects of the crash. He was better than the score suggested and could've come out in heat 13 if he had been heathly, but according to local newspaper Vetlanda-Posten he opted out of the meeting as he had a headache and a sore/stiff neck.

  25. PREVIEW OF SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 5 Tuesday May 26th 2009 PIRATERNA - VARGARNA at Lastpartner Arena, Motala After crushing Lejonen in the home opener, Piraterna have had two difficult away meetings and two huge losses, so they should be happy to see their home track again. No major changes are made from the line-up which lost in Vetlanda two weeks ago, Emil Sajfutdinov is still unavailable, but the rolling average moves Rafal Okoniewski down to reserve with Daniel Nermark going in the other direction. Vargarna took a surprising point against Dackarna last week, but have still opted to make a change at reserve where Joe Screen has been replaced by fellow Brit Tai Woffinden. Piraterna (home) 1. Rafal Dobrucki 2. Antonio Lindbäck 3. Jonas Davidsson 4. Damian Balinski 5. Daniel Nermark 6. Linus Sundström 7. Rafal Okoniewski ( 8. Tomas Bäck ) Vargarna (away) 1. Scott Nicholls 2. Jonas Andersson ) *-*-* IKAROS SMEDERNA - INDIANERNA at Smedstadion, Eskilstuna For Ikaros Smederna, Troy Batchelor is out with a long term injury, giving Krzysztof Buczkowski his second meeting of the season at reserve. The Indians are also missing one rider due to injury, namely Simon Gustafsson, perhaps a bigger blow as they now lack scoring power from the junior position. However, Renat Gafurov (with 15 points in 6 heats in his last appearence at the track) slots in at reserve, and the Kumla outfit can also welcome back Joonas Kylmäkorpi from his stint on the injury list, replacing out-of-form Matej Ferjan. Kenneth and Rory Schlein have been left out of the line-up, with Hans Andersen and Nicolai Klindt getting back among the seven starters for the Målilla team. Västervik can welcome back Tomasz Gapinski from injury, but now face a questionmark in the availability of Anton Rosén who crashed in Norway on Sunday. He is a doubtful starter on Tuesday night, but no more info is available at the moment. Dackarna (home) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Grzegorz Zengota 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5.
