  1. Yes, I'm actually quoting myself... A Youtube clip from heat 22 (Final) is available in my post above, but another couple of heats from the Championship Final have been posted on Youtube; and (Last Chance).
  2. SWEDISH CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL at G&B Arena, Målilla Attendence: 3095 A quite entertaining meeting actually, IMO the most entertaining of the three finals held this weekend. Heat 14 (Freddie Eriksson, Eric Andersson, Ludvig Lindgren, Antonio Lindbäck) was the best of them, and certainly made my top 5 list of "heat of the year". 1) (7) Andreas Jonsson, Dackarna, 13p ( 3 3 1 3 3 ) +3 2) (3) Fredrik Lindgren, Dackarna, 10p ( 3 R 2 3 2 ) +3 +2 3) (5) Thomas H Jonasson, Elit Vetlanda, 12p ( 2 3 3 1 3 ) +1 4) (16) Peter Karlsson, Dackarna, 11p ( 3 1 3 2 2 ) +0 5) (15) Mikael Max, Lejonen, 8p ( 1 1 1 2 3 ) +2 6) (6) Jonas Davidsson, Piraterna, 10p ( 1 1 2 3 3 ) +1 7) (12) David Ruud, Lejonen, 10p ( 2 3 2 2 1 ) +0 8) (10) Magnus Zetterström, Indianerna, 7p ( 1 3 2 0 1 ) 9) (4) Daniel Nermark, Piraterna, 7p ( 2 2 0 1 2 ) 10) (13) Ludvig Lindgren, Dackarna, 6p ( 0 2 3 1 0 ) 11) (11) Antonio Lindbäck, Piraterna, 6p ( 3 2 1 R R ) 12) (2) Eric Andersson, Masarna, 6p ( 1 2 0 2 1 ) 13) (8) Freddie Eriksson, Getingarna, 5p ( 0 0 0 3 2 ) 14) (14) Henrik Gustafsson, Rospiggarna, 5p ( 2 0 1 1 1 ) 15) (9) Peter Ljung, Elit Vetlanda, 4p ( R 1 3 0 R ) 16) (1) Daniel Davidsson, Valsarna, 0p ( R 0 0 0 0 ) 17) (17) Niklas Klingberg, Griparna 18) (18) Anton Rosén, Masarna Last Chance (Heat 21): 1. 3. That's a good summary by arnieg. I must admit Dennis was probably the best rider on the day, at least he was one of the surprise packages in this final, alongside Pontus Aspgren. Thomas didn't really stand out, and rode a bit conservative for most of the night, but upped his game when it was needed the most, though under huge pressure by Dennis. As a Elit Vetlanda fan, I'm very happy for Thomas as he was able to take the crown on his final junior year. I hope it's a night he will remember for quite some time. Well done THJ!
  4. For the Junior and Senior finals it's 20 heats + Last Chance (riders 4-7) + Final (riders 1-3 and LC-winner) For the Youth final it's a straight 20 heat meeting.
  5. DOH! I should have worded that better. They don't ride on Tuesday.

  7. Thanks! Yeah, I had my hopes up for tonight to finally watch some more Elitserien action, but the rain was the winner in Motala. Just got home, so I'm off to bed, but I'll write the details from the other meetings sometime tomorrow.
  8. PREVIEW OF SWEDISH ELITSERIEN ROUND 12 Tuesday July 21st 2009 LEJONEN - ROSPIGGARNA at Axelent Arena, Gislaved With Nicki Pedersen out with an injury, Leigh Adams steps in for his fifth meeting of the year. The Lions also takes back Piotr Swiderski after the Pole missed their last meeting in Kumla two weeks ago. The replacement then, Tomasz Jedrzejak, didn't have a good night at all and only scored 1 point. Lejonen could actually have fitted Zbigniew Suchecki below the 42.00 limit, but Ricky Kling stays in the line-up after a good performence in Kumla prior to the World Team Championship. Rospiggarna on the other hand didn't have a good meeting before the WTC break, as they lost by ten points at home to Vargarna. The possibilites are limited for Rospiggarna with Sebastian Ulamek out with an injury, so the same riders get a chance for revenge, leaving Chris Slabon out of the line-up this time as well. Lejonen (home) (46) 1. Leigh Adams 2. Dave Watt 3. David Ruud 4. Chris Holder 5. Piotr Swiderski 6. Ricky Kling 7. Dennis Andersson ( 8. - ) Rospiggarna (away) (50) 1. Greg Hancock 2. Travis McGowan 3. Janusz Kolodziej 4. Maciej Janowski 5. Ryan Sullivan 6. Henrik Gustafsson 7. Jonas Messing ( 8. - ) *-*-* DACKARNA - INDIANERNA at G&B Arena, Målilla A hectic week with five meetings in as many days starts in Målilla on Tuesday night (the Målilla club hosts a Division 1 meeting on Wednesday, as well as the Swedish Championship Finals on Friday and Saturday). As reported by Ghostwalker on another thread, Dackarna have signed Krzysztof Buczkowski as a replacement for the injured Rory Schlein, but as he won't be formally transferred until Friday, it will be Grzegorz Zengota filling in at No 2. Otherwise, there are no changes to the Dackarna line-up that beat Piraterna by ten points away, two weeks ago. Just as Dackarna, Indianerna can't use their acquistion of Magnus Zetterström this week, all transfers will be finalized by SVEMO on Friday. So Renat Gafurov gets a shot at glory instead of Matej Ferjan who failed to deliver in round 11, and the Russian would certainly need an excellent performence to stay in the line-up following this week's meeting (with the addition of Zorro). Dackarna (home) (52) 1. Andreas Jonsson 2. Grzegorz Zengota 3. Fredrik Lindgren 4. Peter Karlsson 5. Hans Andersen 6. Nicolai Klindt 7. Ludvig Lindgren ( 8. Tim Gudmunsson ) Indianerna (away) (44) 1. Grzegorz Walasek 2. Jesper B Monberg 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Renat Gafurov 5. Rune Holta 6. Leon Madsen 7. Simon Gustafsson ( 8. Freddy Godlund ) *-*-* PIRATERNA - ELIT VETLANDA at Lastpartner Arena, Motala The Pirates comes from one home meeting to another, though that was two weeks ago. Emil Sajfutdinov isn't in the team for this one, being replaced by Daniel Nermark who are making his way back from injury. The Andersson & Andersson management duo makes more changes, with no rider actually wearing the same race jacket as in the loss against Dackarna. Elit Vetlanda hasn't been riding since the draw in Västervik, on June 30th! Still, the riders have been busy and four from the Tuesday night line-up rode in the WTC, for four different countries. However, from that line-up in Västervik, when Lee Richardson was missing due to kidney problems, there will be one change, as Karol Zabik (pointless in three rides) makes way for Richardson at No 3. Piraterna (home) (38) 1. Damian Balinski 2. Jonas Davidsson 3. Daniel Nermark 4. Rafal Dobrucki 5. Antonio Lindbäck 6. Robert Kosciecha 7. Linus Sundström ( 8. Jeremia Thelaus ) Elit Vetlanda (away) (58) 1. Jaroslaw Hampel 2. Jurica Pavlic 3. Lee Richardson 4. Thomas H Jonasson 5. Jason Crump 6. Sebastian Aldén 7. Patrick Hougaard ( 8. Robin Aspegren ) *-*-* Västervik should've meet Ikaros Smederna, but they'll ride a challenge instead, against a Masarna and Daugavpils combination. CHALLENGE: VÄSTERVIK - MASARNA/DAUGAVPILS Västervik: 1. Bjarne Pedersen, 2. Niklas Klingberg, 3. Niels-Kristian Iversen, 4. Przemyslaw Pawlicki, 5. Chris Harris, 6. Pontus Aspgren, 7. Fredrik Andersson Masarna/Daugavpils: 1. Grigorijs Laguta, 2. Eric Andersson, 3. Billy Forsberg, 4. Artem Laguta, 5. Maxim Bogdanovs, 6. Andreas Westlund, 7. Anton Rosén *-*-* Vargarna doesn't ride this week. *-*-* The three Elitserien meetings can be followed on www.speedway.nu from 19:00 local time (18:00 in Britain). I'm not sure about updates from the Västervik challenge.
  9. I have been trying to get a grip with the situation in Ostrow tonight, where Ostrow should have meet Gniezno in a Liga 1 meeting. From what I have been able to find out by translating several of the news articles on Sportowefakty.pl by Google Translate; Both teams found the track unsafe, referee Marek Wojaczek didn't, and when the teams refused to ride, Mr. Wojaczek deemed that both teams have surrended the meeting by Walk Over status! There are also talks of riots after the meetings, with fans fighting with the police! Sounds chocking! Could any of our Polish forum members confirm that I have understood it correct? I would be interesting to find out what will happen with this meeting, and so on...
  10. Gate 1 hadn't been that much of an advantage before the rain came, I rather suspect that the track conditions made Gate 1 more of an advantage in the later stages, so "luck of the draw" (in combination with the changed conditions) would seem a good reason why things turned out the way it did. Wins from gate positions, heats 1-19: Gate 1: 5 Gate 2: 4 Gate 3: 4 Gate 4: 6 Wins from gate positions, heats 20-25: Gate 1: 4 Gate 2: 0 Gate 3: 1 Gate 4: 1
  11. Completely agree with that. Being a team manager myself, though on a lower level of course, most if not all riders don't have a clue of the scoreline. That's the team manager's job, to coach the team.
  12. From what I've been able to find, it's Wolfslake (German Bundesliga), Outrup (Danish Division 1) and Rawicz (Polish Liga II).
  13. I'm not sure how many that's interested, but tonight, the Czech Republic joined Poland, Sweden and hosts Denmark in the European U19 Team Championship Final by winning the Semifinal in Moorwinkelsdamm (Germany). Points, accoring to the live updates on www.speedway-forum.de, are: Czech Republic 43 1. Michael Hadek ( 3 2 3 2 2 ) = 12 (5) 2. Pavel Pucko ( 2 1 3 1 3 ) = 10 (5) 3. Michal Dudek ( 1 3 1 2 3 ) = 10 (5) 4. Jan Holub ( 2 2 2 2 3 ) = 11 (5) 17. Vaclav Milik ns Finland 36 9. Kalle Katajisto ( 3 3 2 1 1 ) = 10 (5) 10. Niko Siltaniemi ( 2 1 - 2 2 ) = 7 (4) 11. Jari Mäkinen ( 3 1 2 1 2 ) = 9 (5) 12. Timo Lahti ( 3 2 2 3 Fx ) = 10 (5) 19. Aki-Pekka Mustonen ( 0 ) = 0 (1) Germany 33 13. Erik Pudel ( 2 3 3 3 3 3 ) = 17 (6) 14. René Deddens ( 1 1 3 3 3 F ) = 11 (6) 15. Marcel Helfer ( 0 2 1 - 1 ) = 4 (4) 16. Sebastian Eckerle ( 1 - F - 0 ) = 1 (3) 20. Franz Winkelhofer ( 0 ) = 0 (1) Ukraine 7 5. Andrej Kobrin ( 0 0 1 0 2 ) = 3 (5) 6. Stanislav Ogorodnik ( 0 0 0 0 0 ) = 0 (5) 7. Sergei Borisenko ( F 0 0 0 - ) = 0 (4) 8. Voldomyr Teigel ( 1 0 1 1 1 Fx ) = 4 (6) 18. - Thanks to the speedway-forum.de, I've been able to put together a scoresheet, based to those updates. So the final in Holsted (Denmark) on August 23rd will be contested by Poland, Sweden, hosts Denmark and Czech Republic. BTW, what kind of team would Great Britain had been able to send to this competition had they been willing to enter?
  14. Credit to you after me having that dig at Elite League. (Ah, we do need to have a laugh at this forum once in a while...)
  15. To work around the Elite League would mean to ride on a Tuesday (Sweden) or Sunday (Poland) because that's the only days of the week that isn't used by Elite League (AFAIK, we also have a h*ll of a time being allowed two Wednesdays for the Swedish Elitserien play-off by the BSPA). I wonder how many days in a week is necessary to run speedway in Britain...eight I guess.
  16. After being down in the hole for most of the meeting, I must admit I'm chocked that Sweden actually made it through in the end after such a sub-par performence from several riders. At least we enter the final as underdogs, that's normally a good things for Swedish teams (in all kinds of sports).
  17. No-one will ever know. Thankfully, for the Russians, they didn't go into the first semifinal with the same attitude, but then they made the final (yes, a chock, but anyway...). If they had ridden with two youngsters (say Artem Laguta and Igor Kononov)* instead of Roman Povazhny and Denis Gizatullin or Renat Gafurov, I'm not sure they would have gotten to the final. Though we will never know that either. * No disrespect to either of those, as their names were only used as an example.
  18. That's a fantastic result! Sweden have always had a tough time against Denmark in the youth class, and from the 2001 season and forward (from which I have results), I don't think Sweden have actually beaten Denmark. (I'm missing the results from the Nordic Cup in 2005, therefore, I can't say for certain...) Sweden came close back in the 2003 Nordic Cup in Norway, but Nicolai Klindt beat Simon Gustafsson in a run-off. Hats off for Jonas, Victor, Fredrik, Jacob and Kenny. Well done!
  19. So if I have got all things right following the Holsted updates, this should be the final standing, though it should be considered unofficial of course. 1) (3) Mikkel Michelsen, Denmark, 14p ( 3 2 3 3 3 ) 2) (10) Rasmus Jensen, Denmark, 12p ( 3 3 1 2 3 ) 3) (4) Mikkel B Jensen, Denmark, 11p ( Fx 3 2 3 3 ) +3 4) (1) Jesper Schaff, Denmark, 11p ( 2 3 2 2 2 ) +2 5) (9) Victor Palovaara, Sverige, 9p ( 2 1 2 2 2 ) 6) (13) Jacob Thorssell, Sverige, 8p ( 1 2 3 0 2 ) 7) (12) Jonas Engdahl, Sverige, 8p ( 1 2 2 3 0 ) 8) (16) Kenneth Dyrvig Jensen, Denmark, 8p ( 2 1 3 1 1 ) 9) (5) Kenni Nissen, Denmark, 7p ( 2 Fx 3 0 2 ) 10) (11) Kasper Lykke Nielsen, Denmark, 7p ( X 3 1 2 1 ) 11) (2) Emil Gröndal, Denmark, 6p ( Fx 0 0 3 3 ) 12) (14) Krystian Pieszczek, Polen, 5p ( 3 1 1 Fx 0 ) 13) (7) Nikolaj B Jakobsen, Denmark, 4p ( 3 1 0 Fx 0 ) 14) (6) Kean Headley, Denmark, 3p ( 0 2 0 0 1 ) 15) (15) Emil Nörret, Denmark, 3p ( 0 0 1 1 1 ) 16) (8) Fredrik Engman, Sverige, 2p ( 1 0 0 1 0 ) 17) (17) Jonas Jensen 18) (18) Sam Jensen
  20. If I understand it correctly, after three rounds it is: 8p = Mikkel Michelsen 7p = Rasmus Jensen, Jesper Schaff 6p = Kenneth Dyrvig Jensen, Jacob Thorssell 5p = Mikkel B Jensen, Kenni Nissen, Krystian Pieszczek, Victor Palovaara, Jonas Engdahl 4p = Nikolaj B Jakobsen, Kasper Lykke Nielsen 2p = Kean Headley 1p = Fredrik Engman, Emil Nörret 0p = Emil Gröndal
  21. The track in Motala is roughly 4.5 kilometers from the train station, according to Eniro. To calculate the route, enter "Centralstation, MOTALA" in the "Från" field. Also, enter "Motorstadion, MOTALA" in the "Till" field.
  22. Hats off for the Russians! They fully deserved it, and seeing the smile on Roman Povazhny's face at the podium really made my day, that was true happiness. Also, the result was great for speedway as a sport, I hope it catches on even more in Russia now.
  23. I will. Målilla is only 45 minutes away, so I'll be there for all three meetings.
  24. If you want to fly cheap, going out from London/Stansted to Graz (Austria) on Friday October 2nd by Ryanair costs £ 35. The return trip, on Monday October 5th, costs £ 42. (Graz is 114 miles from Gorican) Ryanair route East Midlands Airport to Budapest on the same dates cost £ 53+44. (Budapest airport is roughly 160 miles away) Ryanair route also fly London/Stansted to Trieste in Italy on Friday/Monday for £ 76 both ways, though Trieste is 200 miles from Gorican. Easyjet fly daily flights from London/Stansted to Ljubljana in Slovenia, 130 miles away. Easyjet also fly daily flights from Luton and/or Gatwick to Budapest. Wizzair fly from Luton to Zagreb (closest one at 75 miles away), out on Friday and back on either Sunday or Monday, your choice. Me and a couple of friends are making arrangements to go from Sweden, and we have discovered the price for car hire can differ a lot. Graz is roughly half the price of hiring in Budapest for example. That would be worth taking into consideration, but in our case, the lack of cheap air flights from Sweden (or Copenhagen) makes Budapest the cheapest option, despite the expensive car hire. At least we are able to split that on 4 persons... We haven't checked for hotels yet, so I have no information there. However, with Croatian capital Zagreb only an hour away, one surely are able to find a hotel there, if not possible in closer cities. I have also found this link on tripadvisor.com, maybe it can be helpful.

Lejonen, 9, 3-1-5, 1/2, 8p (-26) ------------------------------------------------ 7. Piraterna, 9, 2-0-7, 1/2, 5p (-27) 8. Rospiggarna, 9, 2-0-7, 0/2, 4p (-106) This should, by my own calcuations, be the correct standing if all of Ikaros Smederna's meeting have been removed. However, this standing should be deemed unofficial until SVEMO has officially re-calculated the standing following Ikaros Smederna's bankruptcy. *-*-* Next week is an off week due to the World Team Championship, so next round won't be held until July 21st. Lejonen - Rospiggarna (46-50) Dackarna - Indianerna (52-44) Piraterna - Elit Vetlanda (38-58) Västervik won't ride, as they should have meet Ikaros Smederna, and Vargarna won't ride either as they were supposed to be the odd team out from the start.
