Thanks bavarian, i'll be flying to salzburg as the times and fares are very good for a day trip it's only about 90 min drive from there.

Me and the missus will be there.

Cheers boggle, Was in landschut last season and meeting lasted at least 3 hours, as well as the speedway there was trials bikes, big blokes exhibiting big bikes and various other things the germans seemed to enjoy. As long as i'm out of there by 7-15pm i'll be happy, so if it listed at 2pm or anything before 4pm i'll be going.

Does anybody know the start time of this meeting, it's a bank holiday so i assume it's an afternoon start, i reckon if it starts between 2pm-4pm i can book a day return to salzburg and get there and back ok. I've tried emailing the addresses on 2 websites, but got both returned by server. Any help would be appreciated, especially as the flights are dirt cheap at the moment.

For those that are going <i'm sure they'll be quite a few of us there>. This info was in the getingarna prog last night. Gates open 3pm, meeting starts 6pm, entry 150kr, seat 50kr, prog 50kr. There is a combi ticket available for 225kr <obviously entry,seat,prog> if you book in advance, but that only seemed available via the local tourist board, if this is not the case and anybody knows if we can book in advance, let us know please.

Thanks Joakim. You may have joked about staying in the prison, but it sounds like a novel idea to me, and at that price i've booked it! Because of the links you gave me i also figured out it was better to sail from nynashamn. We'll be going to kumla on tuesday and nykopings on thursday. I'm doing a 3 day tour to sweden next week and fancy going to bysarna on the wednesday, from what i can gather the best route is the oskarshamn-visby ferry, if anybody can confirm this please let me know or tell me otherwise, also the accomodation looks very very expensive, does anybody know if theres a tourist info centre in visby that can find a reasonably priced room for the night. Any help would be most gratful as i really fancy going there.

There's also a lot of money to made on the spread market. If you dont think the yanks will finish 3rd <or better> in the final you can sell at 2.5, now that is easy money! You can also buy the danes and aussies, and providing one of them win you cant lose, and the profit comes on the other finishing 2nd or 3rd. You can even make money on the czechs finishing last in sweden, surely a cert.

Boggle, As you can probably see with my other reply to baz i've only got the car for 24 hours, this was booked with hertz via the ryanair site. When i booked a tues-fri trip in the middle of august for swedish league meetings, most firms quoted £160-£190, holidayautos came up with £99, so may be worth trying them. I've always used them in spain, and now they seem to be branching out all over the place, and i've never had a problem with them. The price you see is the price you pay <unlike some of them>.

Baz. As i'm getting married this weekend and i was booking terenzano at the same time, this trip was done on the real cheap. Out stansted 08-35 then back to airport after the meeting, crash out for a couple of hours then back on the 06-40. It's slightly closer to gothenburg than nykoping, but when i booked with ryanair on sunday, it was £50 return to nykoping, either way looks about 2 hour drive at the most. Only £40 for the car too.
