  1. Depends on where it's staged. The poles would win it with their 4th team if it was there, if it was at somewhere like wolverhampton, then we'd stand a chance.
  2. 1, ryanair to riga, probably best bet. 2&3. airport to train station 20p, 3-4 hours on train to daugavpils about £3, but coach is more comfy and is only 5 mins from train station. once there, hotel 5 mins walk, track 25 mins walk, or 15p on tram. 4. from memory only one decent size hotel, just google it, cant remember the name.
  3. Even Lynch thought it was at coventry when he was first interviewed after getting the job. Has that bloke ever got anything right?
  4. Just recieved a text from fans at track. Aussies asked if practice could be saturday morning, ole said no!! Reckon the morning will be spent making sure gate one is a darn sight better than thursday, now that denmark have got the inside gate 7 times <every little helps>.
  5. Only if they go 6 behind, then they can use tacticals.
  6. At least unsteady cant take out a team mate with this formula.
  7. Wizzair have at least 3 flights that get back into luton at 07-30ish on the monday morning, so if you've got a good boss like mine, and you work/live in the area it's an option. Done it a few times, poznan is the best option as it's comfy for crashing out, katowice usually means hanging around the train station until the bus goes at 04-30, and gdansk we just booked a cab for 05-00. You feel crap at work all day, but at least it saves that precious thing called holiday.
  8. What an absolute berk jim lynch made himself look with his comment that we've GOT to beat sweden twice. Sorry jim, but we've only got to beat sweden on thursday to get to the final, on monday we've only got to beat the czechs. And even with unsteady in the team we should manage that.
  9. looks like the reserves get the best deal here. Almost no expense getting to the meeting, most of the time they dont have to ride, and they get £1150 ish. In terms of expenditure, you've got to finish in the top few to be better off than the reserve. I know it's all about sponsorship, but i'm amazed the riders have never asked for more. Will we ever get a breakaway series? Is there a kerry packer out there who likes speedway?
  10. Whats going to happen to the g.p. series when the stars retire? Leigh, Greg, Tomasz will pack up in the next year or 2. When you look at these qualifiers, and rate them on performances in europes only 2 elite leagues, then ryan is about the best of what got through.
  11. 30 mins ago there was only two heats left, but there must be a problem with it, hasn't updated since. jesper, rico, ulamek, zagar look safe. david howe 4pts from his 5 rides. Cheesy also through
  12. Very true doug, but there's a helluva lot that dont bother anymore.
  13. You obviously were lucky, for the past few years i've been i've always been surronded by londoners that haven't got a track to go to. Work it out, how many people go to speedway on a regular basis? how many regulars dont go to cardiff? and believe me paul the sums speak for themselves.
  14. Cant see a mention of what Nicki said after the meeting, something about standing up and not accepting these poorly prepared tracks. Cant see it happening, and as with many walks of life, it wont happen until it's too bloody late and a rider gets seriously injured or even worse. I appreciate that riders can get hurt on normal tracks, but thats usually down to rider error or bad luck, these bloody tracks are poor and dangerous.
  15. Spot on about img loving the falls and injuries, you forgot to mention the sky production team and a fair proportion of the crowd also loving it. If only regular speedway followers went to cardiff then they might start voting with there feet over the appalling state of the track, but by my reckoning thousands of them aren't regular supporters.
  16. For the first time in 5 years we're giving this one a miss and having a g.p. party instead, a few friends lots of drinks and nibbles, and nobody will get searched or have anything conviscated when entering. And the with money saved we're all going to a polish league meeting, best of both worlds i reckon. But hope it's a great night for all those going and staying at home.
  17. Only problem with bydgoszcz is that they're currently 2nd division, and if the meeting is against rawicz or one of the weaker teams it wont be worth watching. Same applies to the top division this season, 3 very good teams, 2 average, 3 not so good. So if you're going to poland this season, be choosy with the fixtures.
  18. I assume because of the politics of the sport, one of the brits will have to stay in next year. Scott doesn't deserve it because he thinks he's so good he doesn't need to qualify. But how can they give it bomber? a rider who rides 2nd div poland, and struggles in sweden <last week bottom scorer> the bloke is way out of his depth, it's almost laughable when they fly past him.
  19. The start time was 16-30, i assume this was to enable greg to get there after the g.p.
  20. But this meeting was originally on the 24th. I dont know why it was switched. Maybe because of greg in the g.p.? bad decision if it was.
  21. Lets face it, apart from wroclaw and cardiff last year he's been very average/poor, if he was danish/polish he'd have never got a sniff at the gp's. He's only in there because the rest of the brits are so poor.
  22. With the series so weak at the moment, and only 7 <truly> world class riders around. Now is the time for the top 7 to make a stand about these dreadful tracks. Surely they're holding the aces now, where would the competition be without the top 7.
  23. I see scott has not entered the qualifiers, so we assume this will be his last year. Cant see any brits being good enough to come through. Put jarek back in there!!!
  24. So the "not so clean" shop steward doesn't refuse to ride a track like that, but 2 months ago at kings lynn he refused to race because of a bit of rain. I'm sure he'd have got gollob on his side if he'd started his usual "lets get the meeting off" tantrums. How can the bloke be so two faced? It's either too dangerous to ride or it's not, last night was too dangerous, but the shop steward and the others bottled it.
