  1. Evidently he was ill. Now i know he's always been known as a bit of a sicknote, but against that sort of field surely he could made the effort. When reaching the world final was every riders dream, some rode with a broken leg to get there, as i'm sure many of the older forum members will remember.
  2. Danny and Lewis hardly did their claim much good over the weekend. Hardly top class opposition, but both well down the field.
  3. Certainly got the impression he wants to go with the 3 youngsters, so one of the old guard will miss out. On current form it has to be Scott.
  4. Thanks for that Rabbit, i certainly thought it was strange at the time, but this explains it.
  5. No sir, it wasn't a moan, moan, moan, as you put it. Your poor arguement is about the old days, when riders teamed up for a very shortwhile. Nowadays we have betting in running, all that will have to stop if we have riders lending bikes to each other. The bookies cant lay odds if they dont know if a poor rider is coming out on his usual machine, or one of the faster guys has lent him one. Emil and Hans dont ride for the same team in Sweden or Poland, it was purely a case of Emil's team trying to beat Jason by offering <what they felt was> a faster bike. To the best of my knowledge it's never happened before, and certainly not at the sharp end of a meeting.
  6. I'm amazed more hasn't been made of Hans riding Emil's bike. This is an individual event and betting odds are fixed as such. Bookies set the odds on all sorts of factors, and if riders start swapping bikes i reckon bookies will stop laying odds. I know bikes are set up for the individual in many cases, but Kennett would not be 100/1 if Jason decided to lend him one of his rockets 2 minutes before the meeting. Those who backed Greg each-way, would have been hard done by when he was passed on the last lap by a lent machine. I'm sure the F.I.M. will put a stop to this!!!!!!
  7. I'm fairly optimistic about this one, lets face it, they cant afford another bad one here. But even if the gp is crap, at least there's footy over the road at 4pm, and the meeting at malilla on the sunday might make the weekend worthwhile.
  8. Top post Doug!!!! P.S. There's 5 of us coming over for this meeting, any forum members from that part of the world going to be there?
  9. I know we all go on about this idiot every year, but he's so bloody awful it's hard not to have a monthy/yearly rant.
  10. Poor track, poor meeting, poor crowd. They doubled the prices and halved the crowd, i knew as soon as i saw they were charging £33 to go on the back straight the poles would stay away. Over the years the poles have filled the place, but there was no way they were going to come in thier thousands at those inflated prices. As for the track, sadly it's the same in poland this year from what i've seen and heard, the 3 meetings i know about have all been the same, slick track and hardly any passing. At least it was nice to see emil and freddie do so well.
  11. Certainly the worst format around. No 3 from the home side rides No 3 from the away side in all his 5 rides. At least with the 4 team meetings you got variation.
  12. Thats a shame, always enjoyed the german system with 4 fairly equal teams. But at least the brokstedt meeting is still on for the 1st may <thats the only one we've booked to go this season>.
  13. When it comes to flying to poland, it's got to be wizzair for me. Even the seats are fairly comfy, and when there's a problem, you can actually email customer services, and not only do they reply, they will also give compensation when it's warranted. I've booked 4 flights with them this summer, all under £60 return. Sadly i've still got to use ryanair for the swedish and german trips, but at those prices i'd be a mug not to.
  14. No mention of a super prix this year, and as the last one is at gollob's track i assume there isn't one. I suppose they cant afford it this year after what happened in germany.
  15. I recall when cardiff was first mentioned, postlethwaite was smirking on sky stating that the weather couldn't spoil it. Is this why the organisers have kept very quiet? In this claims culture we now live in, if they said "yes, we were negligent" then they could be sued, i'm no legal man, but somebody somewhere has to have been negligent for this to happen, could the organisers silence be hiding something?
  16. My subscription ran out 2 weeks ago and i keep receiving it, but i wont bother to renew next season. As well as no intregity, they dont appear to want to make a profit either, but if they want to keep giving me freebies i dont mind. P.S. Great post speedwayondisc.
  17. Cant believe sky didn't insist on an interview with bellamy or olsen, surely the paying public and the tv companies, deserve a full explanation as to what exactly went wrong, and why it was <apparently> impossible to sort out. But all we got was a short statement from bellamy. We felt last year was a waste of £150 as the racing was so crap, but at least we saw some and had a fun weekend. But on the bright side for those who can afford it, what a weekend next weekend, G.P. on a decent track on the saturday, and the 2nd leg of the polish final just down the road on the sunday.
  18. This must have been the most expensive "challenge" match ever. Was is all sponsored? or were they hoping for a massive crowd to pay for it?
  19. Just a thought. Who the majority of folk would prefer to see in next years g.p. series? The top 3 from this, or the top 3 from that thing in poland.
  20. Subedei and myself have been stating on various threads that kus is better than sitera, once again he proved it today. Well done to emil, hopefully he's done enough to get a wildcard for the g.p. series.
  21. And a bloody good afternoons entertainment too. For you people who travel to g.p.'s, you should really try the bundesliga final one day. 28 heats on a well prepared track, and the whole day cost just over £70 <plus whatever it costs to get to stansted>.This is the 3rd one i've been lucky enough to go to, and i will certainly be going again. Entertainment gauranteed!!!! Unlike the overpriced g.p. series.
  22. Can anyone confirm the start time for the bundesliga final at berlin wolfslake on oct 3rd? I assume it's the usual 2pm, but i'd like it confirmed before booking flights, currently £36 day return with ryanair.
  23. Me and the wife will be there. Do you know what race format is being used? last year at abensberg it was 4 man teams plus reserve with 16 programmed heats then 4 more for highest-lowest scorers. It seems what you've listed are 5 man teams, so can we asume a 25 heat format like in the senior world team cup?
  24. I enjoyed most of the weekend, just a shame the most important bit <the racing> was so awful. Hopefully they can produce a half decent track this year.
