Yep, iris123 and have often said on here how they breathed new life into us. What a great spell that was...

At least Brian Collins left his international web site up...

There have been some superb sites over the years that have just disappeared. That's why we need some kind of central stats site that is going to stay available...

They were actually wanting him banned, he was that wild...

There seemed to be quite a few of those back then! Ironically, the one i remember was also from Wolves, when they rode at Plough Lane in 1969. As a 6-year-old, I still remember Geoff Ambrose scaring me! He only had two rides, but I remember turning away whenever he took the bends!

I was there that night! Actually, Hasse was the main reason I went to that, but he really was poor that night. Certainly not the same rider I saw at Wembley in '69, and on several other occasions. Funny thing, Steve, but that was one of my main reasons for not wanting a fixed race night. Neither of us were Crayford fans, but we went along as neither of us had anything to do that night! I just used to take off and go somewhere different on an off night...

I do miss doing the grasstracks; used to be a wonderful day out... -
There are those who will disagree, I'm sure, but I'm with you 100%...

i feel the same as you about him...

You really liked Jeremy, then? What the hell happened to you lot today? 73% possession yet Bradford had more attempts on goal than you?

Told ya!

Don't forget the brothers who are always forgotten - Gary, Mark, and Martin Chessell. They all rode for Swindon.

As I have repeatedly said on here. I prefer plain league and round-robin formats (you score most points, you win), but that's not what most sports seem to want today. Funny thing is, in the days of the old World Finals, most speedway fans seemed happy with scraping through the qualifying rounds, and then everybody starts from scratch next time...
