  1. Strange how he has dropped his average since arriving at at a track he is a "specialist" at...the only thing he knows about the stmp more than others is how shale feels on your backside as he rides along it on his backside every week..
  2. Not sure how anyone can disagree really. Although I would put Wilkinson and kus level as both equally inept.
  3. The team hasn't been dealt but chosen, Bears got lucky last year with Dyer, not sure any of the VII have that improvement in them. And why just because this is the team do we have to think it is right?I will pay me money every week no matter the dross served up, I'm loyal but I am just not happy with the team, I also think others will stay away with this side if they, as I and many think, struggle.
  4. Havelock confirms Pepe Franc deal fell through and he also talked with Aussies, Germans and Danes - one thing is sure that Hall was some way down the pecking order... http://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/speedway/brian-havelock-happy-richard-hall-6751568
  5. What about Timo Lahti? without a club and I think would have done well in PL - yes would have meant others making way but losing a Wilkinson or Graversen is hardly an issue.
  6. Name four worse teams...you would struggle to name one depending on who Plymouth sign.
  7. Let's see who other teams turn to. Plenty of DU options or even you rejig more than one rider. I also refuse to believe there are no untested Danes or Swedes we could take a chance on. But we shall see,
  8. Good value? He is a lot worse than the rider he is replacing so how is that good value? He is just the cheapest option quite clearly. If he is confirmed we are in for some beatings, home and away.
  9. Hope the rumours on Bears talk are not true....
  10. The genius Rod Hunter - because he saw sense...
  11. Havelock has confirmed he has already spoken to Kauko Niemenen - who is not riding in England this year.
  12. Footballers have to apply for new work permits too so you would presume that is the case for all sportsmen. Still a shame as Kozza he would have been a very popular rider - and unlike most of our team capable of adding to his average.
  13. If we signed Tully to replace Smith - one of the few glimmers of hope - then God help us. Lawson and Smith are the real reasons for excitement for Redcar this year, given we have carried on with duck eggs like Wilkinson. Still the management cant be blamed for Smith and the current issues, but hopefully if they do need a new rider we take a bit of gamble on someone, and not a bang average performer like Tully. Feel so sorry for Kozza, would have been brilliant for Redcar and could easily have seen him becoming our captain this year.
  14. Carl Wilkinson, Theo Pijper, Christian Henry - no real reason - probs one reason I was so unhappy we signed Wilkinson.
  15. So close, but think we might have missed the mark. I would have had Wilkinson happily at reserve but not in the main body of the team why could we not take a chance on a youngster from Aussie or America in his place of him amazes me, but no doubt he remains the 'cheap' option - oh and dont forget he is a lovely chap, that's ok then - doesnt matter if he fails to do anything all season - as long as he is a good guy! Garversen I didnt mind last time, decent enough but not much improvement on Dilger IMO but again will be quite cheap. Skidmore, well he will hit his average again - dont see him adding to it - but will do his job from number 2 as well as any in the league. Delighted to have Crang in the team, good to take a chance on a rider that has those links to our Cleveland Park days. Overall, not a bad team at all and I think our three heat leaders are very good - will entertain and shouldnt get beat at home but it wont be able to live with some of the big teams unless Crang turns out to be a 5 or 6 point man which is unlikely. Dont think we will be troubling the play-off places again.
  16. If Brady does get a five, the most obvious thing to do is drop Allen with one of the reserves, leaving yourself with 11 or 12 points for two riders.
  17. As said sure more likely to affect one of the top three!
  18. Interesting in the SS that Havvy snr suggests five of the side could be British - so with Summers and Smith already signed that could mean the rest are British. I would be shocked as that would mean Skidmore is out, and probably back at Sheffield, which I guess could be their choice but be a surprise if he is not with Redcar again. Would also mean Ostergaard out, which as I have said is not bad thing - unfortunately it might mean Wilkinson returns but I really, really hope that is not the case.
  19. I think what you can say is Redcar's top three still has a lot of room for improvement - All three could and perhaps should put a point on their averages - and whilst I dont fear at all about Doyle, not sure Morris and Allen will keep theres, let alone add to them. Still make Somerset's slightly stronger, but think our second stringers will be better.
  20. Some Bears fans didnt like the way he acted late on, but I never minded him - had his off days but more than capable of hitting 6.5 IMO.
  21. Not impressed by that Somerset side, very long tail - but I dont imagine for one second they will finish with that 7 - but as it stands, expected more from the Rebels. Cleary they think young Brady can double his average or something as spectacular.
  22. Kozza Smith confirmed by Redcar officially on their Twitter.
