  1. And the same Glyn Taylor who nearly sent the club into extinction? Yes. Yes he knew how to prepare a track, that doesnt mean we can forget what an odious little man he was who was happy for the club to go the wall when he couldnt figure out how to make a profit. And when it comes to Worrall - fencing a rider on the home straight - some of the most blatant dirty riding you will ever see. And if Worrall doesnt want abuse from the terraces, he shouldnt hand it out on track.
  2. The worst crashes coming off the fourth bend were from dirty riding - with the disgusting Richie Worrall involved in more than one... And Glyn Taylor - horrible little man who almost sent our club to the wall, and who ruined the track. He had to put the kerb in but it went too far out out the first bend and ruined the line. It stopped the ability to straighten up mid corner of bend one and have the long blast around three and four, the Matty T masterclass. Nobody took bends 3 and 4 better than him....(Jason Crump and Tai Woffinden aside)
  3. Numbers disappearing every week? How would you know if you only turned up a couple of times a year? Despite our dismal showing in the years before now, the attendances have stood up very well indeed, people are now returning and we are clearly getting better crowds than Newcastle. I am only basing that on one visit to the Greyhound stadium in the last two years, but if you can do that - then I guess it is good enough for everyone.
  4. What a load of tripe, at worst we might have been below 400 to 500 - but you are saying over 200 Newcastle fans turned up? Stupid even by you very low standards. At best we might have hit 1,000 this season but I reckon 650 to 750ish average...
  5. Why does any keep referring to form - it really isnt about that this time around, there is new blood coming in with Pawlicki and Cook, as has been stated - and loyalty is a big thing here, hence why Holder and Hancock will get offers. Then a Dane HAS to be in, so Iversen is the man given how reliable he is and solid - Kildemand, as has been said isnt as popular as some. The final place will be more interesting...
  6. Hancock, Holder and Iversen will get wild cards if they want them - no doubt about it. Then as long as Pedersen doesnt want it...Vaculik will get it.
  7. Crowds are up for sure - very healthy levels. On next year's team - fairly easy I would say, go for... Barker, Wright, Anderson, Busch and Bukhave and then see what is left for last two spots.
  8. One league but split North and South to start with six man teams - half or maybe two riders must be British. Two heat-leaders Two second strings Two reserves Team building up to 36 points or so. Scrap rolling average nonsense etc...
  9. The STMP is in great condition this year, can race when we want and could accommodate this meeting, be great to see us get something like this! And the track is very fair, most good riders go very well around the track so would be a great meeting.
  10. Tobias Busch replaces Coty Garcia. Happy to see Busch back and in a few weeks should be scoring more, but just to say Garcia performed admirably for the Bears during his spell especially when at number 2. I thought he might have done enough to stay but fair enough the Bears staying loyal.
  11. Summers is a proper number one around Redcar - he should get a bag full, if he does - comfortable 10 point win...
  12. I bought it this week for the first time in a while - I don't buy at track but do I have see in supermarket. Enjoyed it. Get a bit bored by the layout of the leagues etc and team news and have never liked Grasstrack news but that is a personal thing. Content was good - keep it up Phil.
  13. In Lewis Kerr's case - they looked poor because they were poor
  14. Given how poor the last two guests have been for Garrity - R/R would work just fine - Wright, Barker, Anderson (riding like a number one) and AN other, more than adequate and would score more than the guests have.
  15. The track has too much dirt, which creates one line - it needs to be slick on the inside for me and deep on the outside forcing the riders to go out wide, but last night there was no need for the riders to go out wide as the dirt mid-track was deep enough...
  16. Jonas Anderson was brilliant tonight - he rode as the Bears number one with Lewis Kerr pretty average. Barker was excellent and Charles Wright is back to full fitness and makes a huge difference. It was a very great team performance and could have been more. Masters and Riss were brilliant for Edinburgh, hats off - but that was it. The Bears tonight showed they are real top-four contenders...
  17. If it is a limited budget - why two people in pits and two in booth? - at least one too many
  18. Wow - worst Greyhounds side in many a year - if they can't beat a Bears side without our big guns - oh dear, good job - could have been mid 60's with Garrity, Wright, Perks and Ayres!
  19. Fair to say if Barker had been riding and some better referee decisions this could have been a big win. Wright was excluded in first ride when he clearly laid his bike down as Douglas virtually stopped. And then the ref to call back a Bears 5-1 and then warn Palm Toft - who was last for moving, that was one of the worst decisions I have seen for a long time. But what can we say about Ayres - his first ride was brilliant and Perks looked like he had never been away - Ayres could be the difference between us getting in the play-offs, a few weeks and he could be as good as Perks around the STMP. And to be fair to Garcia tonight, he looked better than Anderson for me, who is not quite doing it but he isnt riding poor by any stretch. Fingers crossed for Ben, but he seems to be positive about returning this week - it is a shame as he was just hitting form. If Ben is back soon, as we hope, this Bears team could be formidable.
  20. Shame we didnt ride Scunthorpe tonight, think we would have beaten a team like that...Barker and Garrity were superb. Anderson had one fine ride in Heat 14 and as said, Bacon rode really solid and looked very steady, Williamson as expected made a huge difference, as did Mason Campton - very solid indeed - mix in Redcar specialists Cook, Jorgenson and Proctor and it was always going one way... Looking forward to Ayres coming in - will make a big difference.
  21. Brilliant signing for Redcar, not just because we are getting rid of Hall, who was poor - but shows how pro-active the new management are - we used to get sick of seeing other teams making changes, we didnt do them until August if we were lucky - we are now a club going places, and that is shown by moves like this. I personally believe riders put more in when they know that they have not got a guaranteed team place no matter how bad they ride, as was the case with us in previous years. Well done KK
  22. Garcia has improved in recent weeks - it is Hall we need to look at, must be in serious danger of getting dropped, so far off the pace.
  23. We are going to hand out some spankings this season at the STMP that is for sure. Such a solid team and Perks is doing so well. Not getting carried away as we are still in April, but pretty sure we won't be challenging for the wooden spoon...
  24. Excellent performance and yes, well done to Garcia - stepped up - he made a big difference, his points were huge. As the season goes on, the Bears will be harder and harder to beat at home - injury dependent - like with every team.
  25. Garcia is a huge problem - for me I don't understand why we didnt give Bukhave the place - unless something is stopping him - Garcia is so far off the pace, he doesnt even look reserve standard. I would give him this week and then get shot, we would have been better off with rider-replacement, especially if Perks was riding - him, Anderson and Hall would out-score Garcia by a huge amount. For close meetings like this, Garcia will make the difference...but fingers crossed our big three or on it, and that could set-up a win. Any sort of win would be good here.
