  1. I've been having the same weird feeling. Almost reminiscent of Andy Smith back in the day!!
  2. I would agree. But I would keep the wild cards. The big advantage of the wild cards is that we don't lose a top 5 rider from next years Championship because of a previous season's injury. Bewley should not be missing from next year's Championship because he was injured and having the old style Challenge would exacerbate the need for them as anyone between 7th-14th who happens to pick up an injury JUST before the challenge would need one.
  3. So what averages are Troy & Kye on?
  4. A Polish rider gets excluded in the re-run for an incident. Obviously very unlikely and the rider in question would have to be stupid (or have his bike pack in, but is in the realm of possible outcomes.
  5. That's unlucky. Correct decision but unlucky the bike caught the dirt like that.
  6. This so: 7 from SGP 1 from SEC 5 from GP Challenge 3 WC's The wildcard is to counteract injuries that put people out of the GP Challenge. Imagine if Fricke and Lambert collide in Heat 1 in Vojens, both out of the GP & the challenge a fortnight later as Thomson makes the Vojens final. Suddenly two guys would be out of 2026 through a matter of timing. Admittedly, most of the time those WC's would end up going to the Huckenbeck's & Kvech's of this world but it helps prevent the above, or Zmarzlik being out of the 2026 & 27 World Championship if he get's carted into in an Extraliga meeting in May next year and is out for 2026.
  7. Bartosz as much the winner last night as Vaculik. 3 points separating the other 3 in the final and a win for any of them puts Bartosz under pressure. Cue Vaculik who is a further 12 points back winning. I think this shows in a World Final era, Bartosz may well not have as many world titles but his consistency is just way out above his competitors in this era. Lamberts's 3 in Gorzow and Freddie's 3 in Landshut are both killers in terms of a championship challenge.
  8. Always thought it was a shame, especially in the era when there was no World Cup or Pairs (SON), that Lindback never declared for Brazil.
  9. Kvech on course after 12. Lambert the one waiting to find out. Hopefully shouldn't matter the way Bobby has started the GP's. Heat 15 looks massive in that regard though. Lidsey, Wozniak and Lahti
  10. https://www.fimspeedway.com/news/four-2025-speedway-gp-places-on-the-line-at-2024-fim-sgp-challenge extra place on offer
  11. It would be the only way the could try and force their hand. But isn't it done by FIM Europe?? Therefore, they won't let them in.
  12. Allied with the Senedd wanting to ban Greyhound racing. They could probably do with Speedway as a backup plan. Also, IF Cardiff continues, great chance for a Friday/Sunday meeting.
  13. Oh how I wish. Maybe Phil has had a word with Camelot and I'm going to win the Euro's and revive Newport. lol
  14. You can debate whether the rule is correct or whether they should have done more to stop him competing in qualifying but once he did it, the only course of action was to disqualify him. Any other decision would have been pandering to Bartosz. (Yes, for the record, I think the punishment on that rule is completely misplaced. Should be a bigger fine but no DQ)
