Poole Pirates 2021
Starman2006 replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Sorry DC you are wrong. Fans are fed up with the ever increasing gaps in the fixtures which will not get better. The fans have no problem with dropping down. Regular fixtures a northern tour two local derbies and still see the majority of riders who ride in the so called top league. No brainer really. The powers that be ballsed up the knockout cup by calling it the suppoters cup, what buffoon came up with that birdbrained idea. How to kill a good competition stone dead. -

Perks is still improving , he needs to ride the standard week in week out, Chasing better riders will improve him further. -
Would like to see Ritchie back in that league deserves another shot, but im sure Matt would want him to prove his fitness first..

And a lot will depend on what team building average is set. Personally i think 42.50 is a decent start -
Its what the club as a whole demand You can be sure us dropping down will turn a few heads, and have the Championship promotions running for cover. We wont be going down to make up the numbers thats for sure..

It is..

Well Swindon is only 50 ml up the road. Off you go..

How about a 10 week Premier League season?

You don't half come out with some junk DC. 8-10 teams -
Its a bluff right... Ok, so when we do move down its going to knock a few noses out of joint.

Weekly fixtures same quality of racing northern tour. If Matt put a good side together which he will fans would still turn up , sponsorship would still be there. Ok, no BT, but is that really a loss ? Slightly reduced admission for the fans, maybe. Still have the play off's and final. Personally i think Weds is good but Friday would be better. Anybody who remembers the National league of the 80's will know it wasnt so bad. You will never get the big boys back here permanantly, the costs are out of bounds. League should be run April to Sept, play off's in Sept done. None of this dragging them right into October when we all know it will rain. But the powers that be need to take the blinkers off and take the ear plugs out and listen to the fans.

Im all for dropping down.
-
And where did they pluck that figure from ? Costs would be slightly cheeper, but the club still has to pay out a hell of a lot of money, insurances, St johns sheeters riders points money travel expences, Stadium Rent. The list goes on. The difference is you would get speedway vertually every week, so whats lost on the swings is gained on the roundabouts. And im very sure that Matt would puut together a top notch side. If that was the case then then crowds will still come. Hopefully back to a weds, and maybe slightly reduced admission. But if Matt put together a good side i would dobt fans would complain if the admission price stayed the same

Of course it has, even your promotion said the old track was to big. One observation for me. You put a bit more banking on the turns, for riders to come off and you would have near the perfect track. Now, is the time to do it..
-
But why mate, you have the same riders riding in that league. You would get more meetings same standard of racing But for Doyley. ok you wouldnt get a televised meeting, but is that a hardship ?, For most its a no brainer, but im sure the powers that be cough cough, will try and stop us, if thats what the fans want. The top league is finished you will never get the top boys back here permanantly. And you know Matt, he would put together a side that will still take some beating.. But again, its down to the fans to vote..Eventually. And i would be suprised if it went one league, but thats an option.
-
Only got to look at the averages mate. To me its a no brainer.
-
The standard is almost the same take a look at the averages...
-
Did you go to the old National league in the 80'S ?
-
Good post mate. And i think the majority of Poole fans would back that bottom sentance decision.
