  1. Budget cuts maybe???? Did he have one last year???? He couldve grown out of it???? In all fairness he must have earnt some £ this season in the GPs so why didnt he get a suit out of that - I would if I was representing my country, although a free one would be nice. Or is it because the suit maker didnt get it done in time??? Also putting logos onto an already made up suit is very difficult - wen a suit is being made its made up of several pieces which have the logos and design put on them and then sewn to make a complete suit. When I was with the USA team the guys borrowed each others suits from the year before because the funding was really really tight.
  2. Id pay to see that. A guy born in Kent with an American accent though - pretentious and I heard he likes Robot Wars too much, so doubt he'd come I heard someone saying 1000% the other day.... how is that even possible lol
  3. You have misread the rule. The "Team colors" refers to the race jackets.... its the same in the Grand Prix, in that they have to try and wear their Race Jacket at all times. It is not to say that you have to all have the same styled race suit. As I said before it is obvious Emil has different sponsors this season, and the Russian race suits were made for last season and do not feature anyones individual logos. Would you be a high scoring rider not able to display your sponsors???? Emil also has a Russian flag on his chest of his black kevlars - so it incorporates his countries colours into his suit does it not??? lol
  4. Enough of this now - shouldnt we get behind the Great Britain team whilst we still have it.
  5. I dont see why anyone should be "dropped" surely this team qualified - let them go and get the experience abroad now as well - they will only learn with track time. Adding Rico isnt really going to add much - unless of course he takes over the "senior role" from Chris Harris - in that he could ride and gauge the right set up for the rest of the guys. In all fairness we know theyre really going to be up against it with the other teams in the play offs, but it would be a good chance to continue this development and see if they could really spring a shock. Just give them that chance, they earned it.
  6. I thought he was trying to entertain the crowd and get them geed up - something a lot of riders dont do nowadays
  7. I thought the same thing Wasnt even mentioned by the commentary team
  8. Hehehe I wonder if he speaks English or a different made up language because he doesnt want to accept that its called English lol Even Americans acknowledge that they speak English whoops - I havent just kicked it off again have I
  9. Brilliant - says it how it is really. Now wish the "REAL" foundations we're put in place and venues like Scunny, Sittingbourne etc we're given support by the Authorities, and that British riders of ALL levels were actually helped to develop in their own country.
  10. Yes looking at the Slovakian flag just now I did see it last night. But theres significant difference in the symbol. And the internet is an invaluable resource which should be used if they didnt know the difference. I hate the awful pronounciation of riders names as well - if they dont know just go and ask them what it is!!!!!!! (Ulamek is a good example as it is actually pronounced WAMEK) I hate pointless mole cam, I much prefer a helmet cam - but it seems a lot like the mole...I really dont see what it contributes apart from a blurry 2 second shot of some grass. I would gladly sponsor a rider to run straight over the thing lol
  11. I dont think you even understand what the term Xenophobia means - you have seen me type it and copied it lol. How is it Xenophobic that there hasnt been a scottish rider picked.... the fact is unfortunately none are at the right level yet....how many "regularly" ride in the Elite league. Yes I WOULD like to see some of the Scottish and even Welsh contingent in the team - and think maybe in a few years Andrew Tully may be a good candidate if his progression continues. As a domestic test series England v Scotland - such has been run in the past - would be a welcome addition again - especially at U23 level. See the thing is Mr Snyper - we are not like you in that we accept what Great Britain actually is...whereas you think it should only be Scotland and nothing else England really is the most tollerable country around - surrounded by countries who seem to hate them If you dont want to be British I for one would be glad after these pointless arguments...you have to swim out in the North Sea though and then you can declare yourself as Norwegian Sorry if thats nasty but the whole thing has got silly. You need to read posts as well, I have never aimed them specifically at you...although because you've been personal in the past I will retaliate!
  12. If you look at his results in the USA - erm yes lol. The only people who called it England are those who are as uneducated as you - whereby you thinking your not British lol. Or thinking N Ireland is part of Britain.
  13. With the leathers they generally build padding into the actual suit. So they dont normally wear body armor. I think the main factor is due to cost - a leather suit can be around £700+ New Kevlars are around £500 with second hand coming in at about £100....but this would include all the different designs, colours and sponsor logos. because of so many second hand kevlars about its obvious what guys starting out would go for just to reduce costs. And not many leather suits are suitable now for speedway - due to things like speed humps etc.
  14. Makes you wonder if hes practiced on one of those bucking broncos He should be in a rodeo lol Track looked awesome and fast - typical of Peterborough about 10 year ago... better than Olsons slick shows
  15. Yeah took one for the team in a different way lol sorry dirty mind kicked in for a second there
  16. In all fairness Tai is in his first season of Elite speedway, and isnt a heat leader - he still lacks in experience, but in time im sure he will make it, he need to be given a chance though. who really couldve come into the team and made the Team win - including Rico may have added a few points but not drastic enough to pull of the win. We need to blood more youngsters and give them opportunities otherwise we end up using the same crusty riders year on year, which has been the reason why we've found ourselves in the position we are in now. The aim this season from the start was to get into a play off position - we werent expecting a shock win We need to increase development of British riders - which has been a concern of years - through training initiatives and support by authorities.
  17. I agree with you there. Even Holta was there - travelling to a different country and not riding!!!!! - thats team spirit and support. Especially with all of Scotts experience etc at this and GP level - just proves something doesnt it.
  18. Great Meeting Team GB did well, the kids did us proud and King was awesome - he was always going to be a good choice to ride at a track hes ridden for a number of years. Lewis needs to calm down though - having a go at Hampel after a race when he didnt do anything. Conda ( or as we called him Condom, Durex or Johnny lol) was looking great towards the end, and seemed to progress throughout the meeting Is it me or do the Polish riders always seem inconsistent, but know how to turn it on in a competition like this - their team spirit though is immense. Security seemed a bit lax at the end though - and they lost control a bit with regards security. Did you see the Polish team manager push that guy - lol. Not good all those people in the pits so soon afterwards Overall a good meet - and really to make the competition fair - the final shouldve been at Peterborough and not in the Polish back yard... I cant really see them being beaten now. Prediction for race off - Australia and Sweden to go through
  19. Sorry for my late response to this but... The main reason that the team is named Great Britain is the same as why there is no British team in football. There is a single British motorcycle authority - ACU - and not a separate one for England, Scotland, Wales. This then only allows that one nation into any competition. In the forthcoming Olympics a British Football team is being entered (it has been restricted before due to the separate Football authorities and yet a combined British olympic team) which is being headed by the FA and by agreement will only consist of English players.
  20. Youre really not getting it are you I was asking what is the point of asking the question "are you going to make any changes" when the likely answer is a simple yes or no. I dont claim to know everything... although do have experience as a world cup mechanic btw 59 is a good one to use round Pboro
  21. Im listening and hearing the word - Changes - but not what they actually are. Do you know what their sprocket sizes, Jets, Cam set ups are???? No. They always say "im going to have to change something" when asked the question - so whats the point in asking it - that was all I was saying.
  22. I think it should be GB - But please why cant they drop the tacky "Team" bit Its Great Britain.
  23. So many empty seats in the grandstand fully supports my earlier post - £30 is way too expensive. Back in the days of the 4TT the place was packed - and it was never that expensive, plus there was more racing!!!!
