It's not crystal clear at all. As always it's open to interpretation - in particular the interpretation of the work "ineligible". So, being a bit of a smarty pant, I decided to come here and debunk Bwitcher's theory. However, if you google "ineligible" you get this: ineligible ɪnˈɛlɪdʒɪb(ə)l/ adjective adjective: ineligible legally or officially unable to be considered for a position or benefit. "they were ineligible for jury service" synonyms: unqualified, ruled out, disqualified, legally disqualified, disentitled; incompetent "students are ineligible for housing benefit" antonyms: eligible dated not suitable or desirable, especially as a marriage partner. "as a son-in-law he was quite ineligible" So the main reason of ineligible is that he is officially unable to be considered for a position. So he can't be World Champion. So, against my better judgement I have to agree - Tai should be the World Champion. Either that or speedway should make its rules to say what they mean. Congratulations Tai - 3 times World Champ!

Desite my enthusiasm having flown out the window due to Jason Doyle's injury I still enjoyed watching the meeting in the end. Big talking point, of course, was the Hancock thing. The exclusion felt harsh mainly due to the fact that it doesn't normally happen. If it was a result of the Poles protesting, you can hardly blame them though. Having been busted, I can understand Hancock's frustration at his exclusion, but we didn't, for example, see Chris Harris walk out the meeting last time out when he was wrongly excluded for Doyle's accident. Hancock should have taken it on the chin and moved on. He was, after all, trying to manouvre Holder to getting a point closer to Zmarzlik so the exclusion was fair to bring the points balance back. Walking out the meeting was pathetic really, but it was even more odd to then see him with his normal beaming smile and whooping while Chris Holder was being interviewed as if nothing had happened at all. You can almost imagine he was still grinning under his helmet when dive-bombing Nicki Pedersen recently!

The Mildenhall situation was not a dimple case of noise from speedway. Noise was going on until2 or 3 in the morning from the stadium, which is outside acceptable hours.

Very entertaining, but infuriating to listen to and hear what level of undertanding people who voted to leave really have and how they have affected this country's future. Then again, I voted to remain but don't have a full understanding of all issues either, because we were never properly informed throughout it all.

Time To Stand Up To The Polish Clubs ?
Grachan replied to Countershaftcounter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not sure how us putting a limit on foreigners is standing up to Polish clubs. It wouldn't affect them in the slightest. -
I would agree. All I've seen is a few comments on good old Facebook which may or may not be true. I would expect there to be some sort of statement should work begin, but some people have made comments on electrical work and the stadium being marked out. I don't know if that's true or not as I don't live in Swindon. That was why I wondered if you'd actually been down and looked.
-
Have you been up to the stadium to check Sidney? I have seen comments on social media saying the stadium has been marked out and electrical work is being done but I haven't been up there myself.

Sure, Hancock could be deemed as lucky due to Doyle's injury. Had the accident been Doyle's fault then maybe less so, but he was taken out by a rider who is becoming such a liability that even his Wolves team mates don't trust him anymore. However, someone had to be in the position to benefit from that luck, and that person is Hancock who, don't forget, was still very much in contention for the title anyway. Had Tai or Chris Holder done better or Zmarzlik had a bit more experience then they, too, would now be in contention too. It's true that this year has become a bit of an anti climax, and of the 3 riders that were in contention Hancock was my least favourite, but you can't knock him for being the one who is now in prime position to benefit.
-
That's it then. Hancock's title in the bag. What an anti climax. Boooo!!!

With Doyle now out I'm hoping for Woffy to do the business but he ain't quite doing it. Hancock's to lose now unfortunately.
-
Gutted for Doyle. Just as I (and presumably he) was starting to believe and he gets wiped out like that. As others have said, no way was that Chris Harris's fault. Lindgren lost control and caused the whole thing. Nearly took Woffinden out next time out too. Needs to calm down.

Hans Back Riding In Poland Today☺
Grachan replied to Crazy robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yeah. Seriously. And I don't consider myself someone who gets "up in arms" about things that are legitimate either. In fact I seem to have a higher "legitimacy" tolerance than a lot of people on here. Poole had the play-offs coming up and Hans got injured. For me, being able to bring in a new rider is a MUCH better option that using a guest. Even if Andersen isn't out for the season, he was legitimately injured and Poole acted quickly to plug the gap. Surely this is more credible than people wondering who is going to be able to use Chris Harris at Wolverhampton. That's a real nonsense. I do have issues with Lindback's average though. I think the "GP riders assessed at 8" was perfectly reasonable and made sense. But bringing in a rider for the play-offs I have no problem with. And, let's be honest, that' what Wolves did too with Woffinden to all intents and purposes. There are, of course, major issues with riders' averages that makes the whole average thing a farce at the moment anyway. -

Surely if Poole were just looking to strengthen they would have brought Lindback in for Andersen earlier, like Wolves did with Woffinden. They could have done that. No issue other than the iffy average. People are making fuss about nothing. This is better than using a guest. -
Speedway Star Article : 'lindback Adds Up'
Grachan replied to g13webb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'll take your 40.8 and lower it to 40.6. If you go into heat 15 with 43 points, you need a 3-3 to get 46 - the winning score. If both riders are of 3,3,3,3 and get a 3-3 then one averages 12.00 and the other 9.60. The 43 average drops by 2.40. So 40.60. It's very common to see people thinking the points limit should be 46 because that is the winning score - but that doesn't take the extra race into account. -
Well, if the averages were changed retrospectively from 12 matches to 8 matches, then surely Lindnack's Belle Vue average should now be valid making him lower than 7.
-
You know what I reckon. They made him a 7 because Woffinden is around 7. Totally missing the point that Woffinden has a real average and other riders are higher.

'Herbie' Hancock. It's just someone else's name.

Lakeside V Swindon 16 Sept 2016
Grachan replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I don't. Just the same old vocal minority. They were probably calling for Rosco to be sacked when he was mascot! Rosco is good for Swindon, even if his 'Aussie' experiment didn't work out this year. I agree with the major changes being needed though. Can see Nick Morris having a year at somewhere like Leicester and hopefully returning the better for it. -
Lakeside Vs Belle Vue, 21/9/16...
Grachan replied to Ace no.5's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tungate has had consistently good scores at Belle Vue this year. Not sure I'd choose him as a guest at number one though. He's due a bad one there. -
You keep on about that but there is absolutely no reason for Woffinden to be reassessed as he hasn't been away long enough. I think, in reality, everyone knows that both clybs have landed on their feet this year with Woffinden's average and the one that Lindback has been reassessed at. But of the two it's only Lindback's average that is in any way dubious.
