  1. Can someone explain why the commentators seem much more excited when Ipswich get a 5-1 than when Swindon get one?
  2. If you move out and hit a rider, you can knock him off and be at fault. It doesn't matter if you are in front.
  3. Why do people always say someone is in front so it can't be their fault. You can still cause a crash if you are in front. I feel that was Adam's fault though. He even said himself that he thought he was past.
  4. I posted the exact same team myself before, although I'm not so sure about Nick now. Is he on a false average or is he at his level now? This team is a logical Swindon side for next year though, particularly if Toby decides nor to ride UK and the "One over 8" rule is still in place.
  5. The ref was correct. Kelvin was talking rubbish. It's a different scenario if riders are on the same team, surely. Kelvin was just annoyed because it helped Swindon. How gutted were him and Nigel when Swindon got a 5-0?
  6. Funny isn't it. We see all the time how in the "good old day"s riders used to ride in the wet because those were, like, the "good old days". Then, when it happens now, everyone complains about it.
  7. I had them both in my 2020 team that I posted on here. Looks like someone hasn't been paying attention.
  8. Totally correct. I csn't believe how many people think all 4 should have been back after that, including Kelvin Tatum There is a major difference in two riders from the same team getting in each other's way to when it is opponents. Great win for Swindon but you have to feel for Wolves a bit because of the conditions. Same for both sides though.
  9. So what? Perks more likely to come third in the re run. He probably gave Wolves a second chance, not Swindon.
  10. Please not Eurosport. Pleaaaaaaase. Not sure I'd have Kurtz after the way he went missing in the play offs. I'd prefer Jensen.
  11. Weather forecast looks like rain all day until around 7pm, then a dry evening. If ever there was an occasion where track covers would prove invaluable, today is it.
  12. Good idea. Take all the teams still remaining in the play offs and go with the team that finished highest in the league. Excellent idea.
  13. Yes. Personally I hope we get to keep our top 2. That team I tried above did come together remarkably easily though.
  14. So, if there is one rider over 8 allowed, I would guess that we will lose Batch, Tobias (who has hinted at not riding in the UK next year) and Vissing (who has a bit of a "one season" look about him - but may still be in if the averages fit). That gives us: Doyle: 8.96 Jensen 7.86 Ellis 6.49 Perks 3.57 Total: 26.88 with 15.62 remaining. So: Morris 5.38 & Bellego 5.80 then leaves 4.44 for the final rider. Vissing is 4.43. Sorted.
  15. Poole in danger of getting turned over here. Wells was the length of a straight behind there.
  16. Belle Vue chose the gate positions. Swindon won the toss but went for heat 15.
  17. Zagar has already qualified, via the Challenge.
  18. To be fair, that stock car meeting was, apparently, a World Final. If you had a World Speedway final there you'd get at least a similar crowd.
  19. Swindon fans will definitely be cheering you on if you are against Wolves in the semi!
  20. I just don't see how it is more interesting watching a sporting event where I already know the score. I know what you mean about all the fill ins though. I normally start watching about an hour after the start and skip bits until I catch up.
  21. A highlights magazine would be rubbish. It would just be like the 15 minutes before the racing now starts, which nobody bothers to watch anyway and just fast forwards if they've recorded it. Live speedway on Sky, by the way, got me back into going, so it improved attendances by at least one.
  22. The attraction is that it helps to maintain interest in the sport. I cannot understand why people think it is a bad thing to have speedway on tv. I remember the 1990s, when there was no speedway on, and it helped towards the decline. I think a major contribution towards falling crowds has been the points limit - even more so now it is lower. I remember Oxford in the 80s. Succesful team. Big crowds. Eventually the points limit got them. Crowds visibly dropped instsntly. It's then hard to get those lost supporters back. So, another team takes over from Oxford. They then finish top, get nobbled by the points limit. The crowds drop. Then another team. Then another team. And so on, until, eventually, Swindon get to win the league. Then they get get nobbled by points limit too. Vicious circle. The only other time I've seen an instant, visible drop in crowds was when the double points replaced tatical subs. Did those people return when the tac subs came back? Not many, I'll bet. Anyone who thinks wesker sides is the key to the future, by the way, is clearly nuts.
