  1. Ebdon was consistent that day and excluded anyone who touched the tapes from either side. I had this meeting on tape for years. There's also an interview with Carl Glover, who says he told them before the meeting started that this would happen, so they couldn't argue about it. As for last night, my issue with it is that Woffinden was at the tapes and ready to race, but, because the Poles were dicking about, he moved back and cooled his clutch and waited for them. Then, as soon as the two Poles were ready, Woffy moved back to the tapes, ready to go. It was an outreageously bad decision, although, the way Woffinden rode last night, he may well have run a last in that race and wouldn't have reached the semi anyway, so not as disastrous as it could have been. I do think it was a biased decision from a Polish ref, though. That, plus Doyle's warning, should exclude him from any future GPs.
  2. Nobody would want to finish top if that happened. They'd miss out on a big crowd for the semi.
  3. Fabulous meeting, just slightly ruined by the anti-climax ending to heat 15. Every meeting I've seen from that track has produced fantastic racing. Heat 13 was an absolute classic. Doyle, Holder and Cook going at it hammer and tongs with Fricke at the back and seemingly a spectator to it all. I'm still not sure how he managed to win that! Well done Belle Vue on reaching the play-offs. It would have been a travesty if thry'd missed out thtough Bewley's injury.
  4. Are these the real dates or have you made them up? It's hard to tell sometimes.
  5. I don't think one Reading supporter constitutes "Swindon fans on the whole".
  6. I think Somerset would like Swindon to get into the play-offs and be able to choose them, because of the local derby aspect and the fact that they should be able to beat them.
  7. Saturdays would have been lost to the GPs though. If GB had embraced Sundays when they had the chance, they would have had that slot now probably. Poland, presumably, started using Sundays because it was the only day that was available.
  8. I think you are right about the double up/down and removal of tactical substitutes. I think those running the sport underestimated how much a part of the sport the TS was. It was a major discussion point at matches - even between strangers. They got rid of that, and, at the same time, made the gaps between races seem twice as long as they did before. Speedway was not just about motor bikes. It was about tactics and the scoring system. They got rid of that and changed what the sport is.
  9. I reckon Speedway in GB made a major mistake many years ago in not having meetings on a Sunday. Nowadays, speedway on a Sunday afternoon would probably double crowds at some venues as this is probably an ideal time to go to a speedway meeting. Instead, the top riders began riding on the continent on Sundays, and the Polish league took Sunday as its day. If the UK had Sunday afternoons as its fixed race night/day now, I reckon we'd be doing a lot better.
  10. His average with bonus points is 8.00, so you are predicting paid 8 from 4 or paid 10 from 5 then? Yes?
  11. I expect this will be an Eastbourne Dons situation. Eventually this team will be known as Rye House Rockets, I'm sure. If not next season, then soon after.
  12. Rye House speedway is next to a lake, though, so it does (kind of) work.
  13. At the start of last year, it worked out that if Swindon had replaced Jason Doyle with a NL rider at the start of the year, then they would have been a Championship strength side.
  14. It's a two way thing. Yes, the top flight is weaker these days, but the lower flight is also getting way above its own station and seems to be trying to set itself up as a competitor to the top flight by bringing in international standard riders. It's not all "doubling up". There are riders like Nick Morris, Craig Cook etc who could never be seen as doubling-up riders and should not be riding in the lower flight.
  15. Meowwww Not sure of the moment you are referring to, but if that happened I'm sure he knew the rule but kind of lost track of himself a bit.
  16. It's pretty clear that you can, but Swindon were prevented from doing it. Rosco was not impressed.
  17. It happens instinctively I think. they have one at Swindon sometimes and as it gets to 0:00 they are all there and ready to go. It's Pavlov's dog.
  18. Sure, meetings need to move on fairly quickly, but 60 minutes is far too short. I would say 90 minutes is a more reasonable time. You need some time between races. What you don't need is hanging around while a tractor chugs round for 5 minutes.
  19. The funny thing is, just recently you came up with a proposed side, and the only change made to the top 5 was you replaced the rider who top scored tonight for Swindon with a rider that scored 4 for Leicester.
  20. They'll never adopt it. Far too much common sense for the Bloomin' Stupid Pillocks Association (ha ha - see what I did there?).
  21. Keep: Sidney, Orlov, Orion, Frigbo, Me. Release: ReadingRacer2017, ZagarRacing, MattFordFan.
  22. But, you're not RR and don't know who he is! Jack Smith hasn't been the problem. The way the side was put together, there was no choice but t have the lowest average rider in the league at number 7, and whoever was there was never going to score. The problem was more inconsistencies in the top 5. If everyone had scored consistently at what they could, the lack of a number 7 would have been covered. There were no obvious replacements out there either - the posts of a poster who writes in a similar style to yourself but, quite obviously isn't you because you said so, prove it. Whatever options came up for possible changes, none were any better than what we had. And that includes at number 7.
  23. We still have the Ko Cup left to get knocked out of, I believe.
