The NSSC are hosting a special event on Tuesday 7th May at the Brandon Club. Starting at 8pm, Paul Ackroyd, David Norris and Gary Havelock will be discussing the work of the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. Although at times it is a solemn but necessary subject there will be plenty of opportunity for David & Gary to entertain the audience with tales of past adventures. It promises to be a great event with all proceeds for the SRBF. Everyone welcome only £4 entry. All details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk

Our first Ice Speedway meeting. Amazing, fantastic, terrifying !!! Didn't expect so many close races. Heat 19 and the Final stood out from many others. Also, no practice starts and faffing about at the tapes. So refreshing. Brilliant and going to do it all again tomorrow!

Apologies if I’ve missed it somewhere but are the Swedish fixtures out yet? I’ve just spent ages stumbling around the internet and can see that the 2023 Elitserien fixtures were announced in November 2022 and the Allsvenskan in mid January 2023. But haven’t found this years fixtures yet. We managed to go to Piraterna and Vargarna last year and will be trying to organise a holiday to take in some or all of Ornarna, Griparna, Solkatterna and Vikingarna this year. We will then have visited all the Swedish tracks …… as they stand.

Nice to know that my scribbling in the Speedway Star SGP race card is more accurate than the official one!

Thank you for the information but sorry I didn’t see it before we went although it was no problem. Really enjoyed the meeting. Good weather, good crowd. Lindback was really enjoying himself. He rode very well and had a few good tussles with Pawlicki. A last heat decider too and a new t-shirt for my collection !

Your Worst Rain-off Experiences
oleoleole replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Warsaw was the final straw! No more SGP’s for me, not even Cardiff even though we’d been to all of them up to that point. However we did go to Toruń in 2019. -
Your Worst Rain-off Experiences
oleoleole replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Like all speedway fans I’ve experienced quite a few “rain-offs”. I’ve been to about 15 continental SGP’s and managed to cop all the postponed/abandoned ones; Gothenburg, Gelsenkirchen, Riga and Warsaw. Also Berlin which was a complete farce! I also experienced the first ever England international football match to be postponed at Wembley! England v Bulgaria (21st November 1979). From Rugby on a coach with my local football club. We got all the way to the Wembley car park only to be told that it was off due to fog! We then spent hours trying to get back out of the car park. Never got off the coach! I’ve read since that Kevin Keegan missed the replay the following day because he had to be back in Hamburg …. and no we didn’t go back down for the replay. -
Bugger! Bugger! Bugger! Spent ages planning a Swedish speedway trip to tick off another two tracks. Piraterna v Smederna on July 18th and Vargarna v Valsarna on July 20th. Everything booked for a ‘speedway week’ and a holiday week further north. While checking who is riding for who this year I see that the Piraterna meeting has been changed to Wednesday 21st June!!!!! Bugger again!

** PLEASE NOTE** Unfortunately the NSSC have had to cancel tonight’s meeting due to the obvious difficulties in Stewart Dickson travelling down from Glasgow in the current weather conditions. -
