Nice to know that my scribbling in the Speedway Star SGP race card is more accurate than the official one!

I hope our K.C. Is better than their K.C.

Thank you for the information but sorry I didn’t see it before we went although it was no problem. Really enjoyed the meeting. Good weather, good crowd. Lindback was really enjoying himself. He rode very well and had a few good tussles with Pawlicki. A last heat decider too and a new t-shirt for my collection !

Your Worst Rain-off Experiences
oleoleole replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Warsaw was the final straw! No more SGP’s for me, not even Cardiff even though we’d been to all of them up to that point. However we did go to Toruń in 2019. -
Your Worst Rain-off Experiences
oleoleole replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Like all speedway fans I’ve experienced quite a few “rain-offs”. I’ve been to about 15 continental SGP’s and managed to cop all the postponed/abandoned ones; Gothenburg, Gelsenkirchen, Riga and Warsaw. Also Berlin which was a complete farce! I also experienced the first ever England international football match to be postponed at Wembley! England v Bulgaria (21st November 1979). From Rugby on a coach with my local football club. We got all the way to the Wembley car park only to be told that it was off due to fog! We then spent hours trying to get back out of the car park. Never got off the coach! I’ve read since that Kevin Keegan missed the replay the following day because he had to be back in Hamburg …. and no we didn’t go back down for the replay. -
Bugger! Bugger! Bugger! Spent ages planning a Swedish speedway trip to tick off another two tracks. Piraterna v Smederna on July 18th and Vargarna v Valsarna on July 20th. Everything booked for a ‘speedway week’ and a holiday week further north. While checking who is riding for who this year I see that the Piraterna meeting has been changed to Wednesday 21st June!!!!! Bugger again!

** PLEASE NOTE** Unfortunately the NSSC have had to cancel tonight’s meeting due to the obvious difficulties in Stewart Dickson travelling down from Glasgow in the current weather conditions. -

The NSSC season never stops! We have two great nights coming up in November. Everybody is welcome to all our events with all proceeds going to help Neil Vatcher and the Young Lions. First of all we welcome Martin Smolinski back to the Brandon Club on Thursday 10th November. A rare UK appearance by the very popular Bee and Brummie. Then on 24th November we are pleased to welcome Peter Collins and Tony McDonald. A special night ahead with Peter and an opportunity to purchase his new book. Unless otherwise stated, all NSSC events are held at the Brandon Club in the village of Brandon. (Just down the hill from the stadium on the Rugby side). The Brandon Club offers some fine beers, together with hot drinks and light snacks. There is a car park at the rear of the building and also plenty of street parking. We are looking to visit Sweden next year for the first time since Covid struck and take in a few meetings. Can anybody advise if there’s a regular pause in the season at peak holiday time that we need to be aware of? It looks like there was a gap this year between 21/6 and 5/7 (or was that just a very wet week?) We fell foul of this the last time we booked before the fixtures came out. We had a week in Sweden and did two meetings and then went to Denmark for a week but they had a high season break! We have been to 10 Swedish league tracks and Stockholm & Gothenburg for SGP’s and are keen to get a few more ticked off. Thank you if you can help.

The NSSC is pleased and proud to announce that Peter Collins and Tony McDonald will be the guest speakers at the Brandon Club on 24th November. (Start time tba) The Peter Collins Autobiography will be available to purchase on the night. So if you want to meet Peter and get that personal message for yourself or a Christmas gift here is your opportunity. Everyone is welcome with a small entry charge of £4 for non-members. All proceeds from entrance and the raffle go to help GB Youth Speedway. The NSSC is one of the Young Lions main sponsors and this year donated £2000 to help young riders in national and international meetings. Come and join us for what promises to be a fascinating and enjoyable evening. You will find all details here; https://www.nuneatonspeedwaysupportersclub.co.uk

Apologies if I’ve missed it elsewhere but is there any news on Tai? They said on tv that he withdrew with stomach & chest pains and after assessment an ambulance was requested to take him to hospital for further checks. That sounds pretty serious to me but I can’t find any reference to it. I hope it is nothing serious after all.

British Final 2022
oleoleole replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
The biggest complaint from me was the total unpreparedness of the BPSL to have plans B, C & D in place before the meeting started. Everyone in the stadium knew that rain was due to arrive between 8 & 9pm depending which forecast you favour. The BPSL should have known exactly what to do as soon as rain stopped play. Added to that us fans waiting in the rain were the last to find out what was going on. Pathetic !!
