World Championship PairsPaulco replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup Long live the speedway of nations , the world cup is dead . The qualifiers might have been average , but this is amazing . Come on Great Britain

I enjoyed last night too , very entertaining meeting which could have went either way . Was tight throughout and when we got to the business end you couldn' with any confidence pick a winner . Heat 13 was excellent , Harris and Worrall made the start over Nicholls , but exiting bend 2 Nicholls picked up some grip , lifted and went into the side of Worrall . Accidental it might have been , but it got Nicholls into 2nd place and triggered off the red mist in Worrall which contributed to a terrific race and also a bit of afters going back up the ramp to the pits . The same protagonists reappeared for heat 15 with the scores level , but this time the Tigers duo roared from the tapes and made no mistake to score the meeting clinching 5-1 , though Nicholls and Worrall still managed a long and intense looking conversation on the warm down lap . Exciting meeting with a last heat decider , it's why we love it .

It's always hit and miss with guests , every side's supporters have guest horror stories to tell

World Championship PairsPaulco replied to Mark's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup More to do with the gulf in class between the nation's rather than the track . The final is shaping up to be a cracking meeting and if it is we'll soon forget the turgid qualifiers . Every sport has these mis matches during a qualifying process .

I wasn't there on Friday as i had something else on , Fridays aren't great for me , but is that all we had ? With the time and effort , ok and money , that has been put into promoting the sport in Glasgow , and we get a crowd that small - then the game is up and there's really no hope for the future of team speedway in this country .

What a predicament . We're now in the position of actually wanting Edinburgh to beat Workington for us to progress . No self respecting Tigger ever wants that mob winning ......ever . But here we are in that very position . Our semi final place in the hands of the forces of evil . I suppose there is the possibility of Workington going to the dump on Friday and winning and us both qualifying , but that's too iffy . So through gritted teeth we have to hope Workington's miserable Armadale record continues on Friday .

Glasgow Vs Edinburgh KO Cup 27/05/2018Paulco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Font know who he is , but he was brought in during the winter . Between that and deputy Dawg the assistant team manager , is it any wonder Stewart got pissed off .

Glasgow Vs Edinburgh KO Cup 27/05/2018Paulco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway No that was 2 or 3 years later when Stancl ended up at the other end of the M8 as punishment . No the 2004 side steamrollered through the Premier Trophy group before underperforming big time during the league campaign despite having Parker , Stancl , Grieves, Bentley, Jones ( his retirement triggered the demise ) and two duff reserves until Carrillo replaced Jones

Glasgow Vs Edinburgh KO Cup 27/05/2018Paulco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway The downside of social media , folk quick to point the finger in the aftermath of disappointment . We dont want a Poole thread , so reality check time . Cup shocks happen in every sport , where the wee diddy team gets the big team on a bad day and springs an upset . That's all that happened yesterday , no need to panic just yet . It' how we respond to yesterday that matters , we have a toughie on Friday against Scunthorpe and that will be extremely tricky . AS for the cup ...........c'mon the Bandits

Glasgow Vs Edinburgh KO Cup 27/05/2018Paulco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway It's a bit like the 2004 team all over again .

Glasgow Vs Edinburgh KO Cup 27/05/2018Paulco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway Very very disappointing . To end up out of the cup after being 11 points ahead on the day is shocking . Saying that , Wells and E Riss were outstanding and our big hitters were found wanting when it really mattered .

That' s an understatement . Coty at the Dale .......... interesting .

Glad James had a decent meeting , hopefully he can kick on from this in both leagues . He's come in for a load of heavy criticism from fans of his own team in the Championship , most of it unjustified , and fans of a certain other team have shown great delight in sticking the knife in . Be nice if he could throw all the criticism back at them .

Neil Vatcher doing a great job.Paulco replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Speedway News and Discussions Did Woffinden not cut his teeth at that level with Scunthorpe ? Were him and Josh Auty not reserves in the 3rd tier together . Auty might not have reached the same heights as Woffinden , but he's still done ok . As has the retired Bridger , Stevie Worrall and Paul Starke . Add to that an Aussie with a British father who rode in the 3rd tier at Buxton - Nick Morris

Peterborough vs Newcastle SGBC Sat 19th May @7pmPaulco replied to StevePark's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway And away from Edinburgh , all you get from Wolbert is a 5 point rider .

Don't see my club sacking Harris , his problems are mechanical and surely its only a matter of time before they are sorted . You don't sack anyone when there isn't many suitable replacements out there that would improve your team . You seem did-satisfied with Lunna's contribution to the Panther's cause this season . I haven't seen Nike round the EOES this season , but unfortunately the lad's style of racing lends itself to the amount of spells on the sidelines that has hampered his progress . He was more often than not the only source of exciting racing at Glasgow last season and i would have thought Peterborough's wonderful track would have suited him perfectly . I hope the lad gets over this latest injury and has a trouble free run to show you exactly the exciting rider he is to watch .

The return meeting in Glasgow was more of a straightforward home win , with the Bears more or less a one man band . Tigers were solid throughout , with Claus Vissing and young Jack Thomas the home men of the match candidates . Jack's beating of Jonas B Andersen and Theo Pijper was a very impressive and mature ride . As for the one man band , Barker really is box office when he's on it . His never say die attitude on the bike got him in amongst Tiger's heat leaders , and on occasion , Bear's team mates alike . As Matej Kus found out in heat 13 . But on track he's never a dull moment , shame we never got that in his short spell in the stripes .
-
Hope none of you are planning on going up to ours by train , we're stuck at Darlington with no trains moving as someone has been hit by a train at Northallerton
-
Poland is allowed apparently , you got a facility for Andersen for the same thing when the Monarchs were at Glasgow
-
Sorry I missed you last night , I watched from the balcony at the bar . Stewart looks some prospect , as you say he had a slow start , just our luck to be down when he turns into Ivan Mauger lol . But seriously to be riding the way he did last night after only a month of our speedway , certainly augers well for the future . He was the difference last night .
-
James wasn't off the pace or owt like that , time folk got off his back , slagging him off won't help him
