just a thread to see who has been going to speedway longest on the forum just so another member doesn't start 'hinting' threads, just get it over with please
i lost both football and speedway too, i grew up going to both as plenty of others did, so it's very much a mixed bag of feelings.
i went to Plough Lane a few weeks back to have a look and was shocked at how much had been done in a short space of time, time will tell if it's a success or not but i wish the Dons all the best.
4320 scoring has, for me at least, made the PL Pairs an exciting meeting to watch for a number of years, with good races at the back trying not to finish last.
the biggest downside i see with it though is when there is an exclusion/fall especially come semi final time
anything to get the Poles involves i guess, so they can take over that sport too.
i remember Diener at Schessell in '94 or '95 when Tatum won his first title, he was no spring chicken then! i've seen him at the Poacher in the last few years too
not a good GP, but the riders that are letting the pressure get them are at fault, not the track, they have the clutch.
i'm still in the camp that thinks as long as you don't touch the tapes then you don't get penalised
heard talk of some riders spraying their air filters with something just a couple of years ago, allegedly helped them at the start if they didn't do a practice start on the way to tapes .. just a rumour though
i also rate his longtrack win in '81, incredible style for that size track (as mentioned by Dave Lanning in commentary), up against a good lineup but with a fast DOHC Jawa too
no speedway but photographed 4 ladies football matches, couple of hundred spectators at one of them, and around 80 at the others with no noticable distancing, couple of restaurants, Brands Hatch, Snetterton, both no noticable distancing, couple of photoshoots, trips to London .. no problems at any
