  1. So you think that because a track requires grading or rollers you have to call it off? Whose to say this would be required after every race? I've seen far worse tracks than this and I bet you have.
  2. Joe what would happen if the riders couldn't all agree if the track is fit or not? On the opening night we were all stood about freezing for over an hour while they made their minds up.
  3. So regarding the opening meeting the promoters thought the track was OK,the SCB referee thought it was OK or why let riders go out on practise laps.I was there and was amazed they called it off.The track might have been a bit soft in parts but no way was it any worse than some of the GPs on artificial tracks. It was the riders decision not to race, using the rideable not racable excuse. This is fine if they are consistent but I don't remember the riders doing this when Poole rode at Belle Vue and insisted on riding in far worse conditions than the opening night.I'm confused can the riders refuse to race even if the referee deems the track fit? I never saw the referee leave his box and inspect the track on the opening meeting and nobody seemed to have any problems on their practice laps.I honestly don't know the answer as to who has the power to call a meeting off, riders or referee?
  4. Yes and who passed the track as fit for racing,I'm sure I have read in the speedway star an independent body someone from the SCB maybe will do this. Not just Belle Vue but any future new track. This makes sense and would have maybe stopped the opening night fiasco.
  5. Starman it won't be long now just needs your mate Shaleshifter to finish it with off with his wackerplate!
  6. Pirates Pirates Pirates the truth is the NSS does exist and will be the best speedway facility in the country your comment about it ain't happening is frankly absurd.
  7. Just goes to show how inaccurate the Chinese whispers are.I heard from a mate etc do no good whatsoever. The truth always comes out in the end.Let's hope we can finally see some racing soon and move on.
  8. I get where your coming from regarding the official web site. The unofficial site Belle Vue Army is very good and probably more informative.I think the official site has to be careful what is put out with the recent problems. The delay to get racing at the NSS has been really frustrating for all fans.I watched some of the practice session before the first league match was called off and I thought the track was great, what do I know? Hope you make the trip to Manchester it should be a brilliant race track when finally sorted out.
  9. What are you finding mysterious about the situation at the NSS? Its been well documented what the problem has been and what's being done to rectify it.Same as the Loch Ness monster in as much that some people won't accept the truth.
  10. Yes let's get back on track .What we've learned so far is that the management at Belle Vue are not to blame for the state of the track, which is now being sorted out.Poole's track meanwhile which Starman kindly informed us was laid in a week and has come in for some criticism looks like its not going to be repaired any time soon. The money is probably earmarked for the main stand and back straight terracing which Shovvy informed us is in a bit of a state.Meanwhile some posters think the new NSS stadium is a waste of time and we should have stayed at the dog track!Oh well its nice to beg to differ I suppose.
  11. The last sentence of your post sums you up perfectly!
  12. Come on someone take on starman on an intellectual debate he's seeing us all off at the minute!
  13. Its going very well thank you.Fact is it will be the best speedway stadium in the country why don't you come up and see for yourself.
  14. Yes but he left a hole on the first bend allegedly!
  15. Didn't Swindon run a farewell to Blunsdon meeting and then start again in the same stadium. Is that not a con?
  16. I didn't travel far to the opening meeting I actually went by bus.Of course I don't have proof the promoters new the track was unfit same as you can't prove they did.We can both agree that a massive cock up was made I just don't think it was a con.I originally thought that the opening meeting was too early but if the wrong materials were used on the sub base then the problems would only have appeared further down the line. I am no more in the know than you are.
  17. I went and due to the information now released don't think I was conned at all.Have you any proof that the promoters new before the riders did there warm up laps that the track was not fit?
  18. All those supposably conned can get refunds where's the con? Don't think you actually went to the opening meeting did you?
  19. Most Belle Vue fans have accepted whats happened and are right behind the management. What's a few more weeks wait when we have waited 9years for such an exciting future. The moaners on here will probably never visit Belle Vue anyway. One fan I was stood with on the opening meeting fiasco was complaining about the acoustic stand on the back straight was made out of metal!! Then he said he used to watch at Cradely Heath years ago. Yeah right that was some back straight stand wasn't it.We should all be grateful for any new stadium at speedway these days!
  20. All the riders who hated riding at the dog track are going to love riding at Belle Vue now.The track looks superb very fast and smooth. There will be some exciting speedway in store this season for sure.
  21. Called in at the stadium earlier today loads of riders practicing including Zagar,Cook and the Worrall brothers.Richie told us the track was holding up very well and they were flying round it wasn't even wet at all even though we have had a few heavy showers.
  22. Do you know him personally to comment on his personality? You are probably judging him on post race interviews etc. The only part of his personality that counts on track is that he his a born winner, thats why he has won his two world titles. I see him every week at Belle Vue, he gives 100% in every race, almost never misses league matches and rides in as as many testimonials etc has he can. Crump is already one of the greats, as is anybody that wins modern day world titles.
  23. Second in the world nowhere ? If thats the case your two favourites Bjarrne and Lindback are going nowhere fast.
  24. Agree with your point about more Brits coming through but how can this happen? Im not having ago at Poole here but the team that will turn up at Belle Vue tommorrow will have one Brit in the team Tacey. You are already rumoured to be signing two more non Brits for next season so its going to be very hard for English lads to get a team place at some tracks. I think the time has come to cap the number of foreign riders in the Elite league. Its awful when young lads with real talent like Andrew Moore are packing the game in.
