  1. Even with AJ in, I'm not sure that Sweden have the strength in depth that they had a few years ago. Lindback has not had a good year, Max is nowhere near the rider he was pre-accident and Magnus Karlsson is a gamble at reserve. If AJ rides and then has to pull out, Magnus will have to take his rides. It is interesting that the strength of Speedway nations always seems to go in cycles. The Danes were so dominant with Olsen, Neilsen, Gundersen, Knudsen, etc. Now there is a resurgence with the younger good ones coming through. Sweden seems to be on the wane at the moment, but perhaps GB's fortunes are on the rise again? I hope so!
  2. Thought he had terrible problems to start with in his first season in 2004 and actually left the team for a few weeks, before coming back...and doing a bit better. If I am wrong, sorry.
  3. He most certainly is NOT a "gating tart". You are entitled to your opinion of course, but it is not fact! We have watched him at Poole all season and he can and does come from the back...often! Furthermore, in his last heat he was against Greg Hancock (ever-present in every GP that has been held and former World Champion) and Peter Karlsson ( former Gp rider, No 1 for Wolves and a very experienced rider). Eddie is 20 years old, his first year as a full time EL rider and this was his first senior GB event. Give the lad some credit for what he achieved last night. To say that he paid Middlo for his place is insulting to Eddie and to Middlo and to all British fans...and does you no credit at all !
  4. Thanks. Thought it was me, knowing what a clown I am on these computer tasks!
  5. Don't think they were excuses...he really was very nervous. He also said that he didn't usually ride Coventry very well (true, as all Coventry supporters pointed out prior to the match), but was hoping to do better tonight. And he did!!!
  6. What was the Kasprzak case? I have not heard anything about that! Do tell!!
  7. Not the first time you have noticed Richardson rolling at the start, is it?? He always rolls the starts...and usually gets away with it. Have seen it time and time again. The Starting Marshall moves them up to the line and as soon as he turns away to start the race, Richardson rolls back and then starts moving forward just before the tapes go up ! He'll get caught out one of these days, but he seems to have it off to a fine art. Tatum said last night that he got away with it, but basically, it's cheating!
  8. Sorry, no chance at the Stadium. It's Greyhound night!!
  9. A very gracious post, SCB. Eddie did himself, his country and the Pirates proud tonight. Now you have proved that you CAN ride the Coventry track, Eddie!
  10. Well done Team GB and a special Congratulations to Eddie Kennett. You proved you CAN ride Coventry and you did yourself, your country and the Pirates proud tonight.
  11. I managed to delete the old and insert the new, no problem. But when I put it all into the printable sheet, there is not a single No 5 listed in the heats from any team. It is fine on the computer sheet. I then deleted it all and started again and got exactly the same thing! Can't understand how this happened! Where did I go wrong?
  12. The Race-off was Thursday and the Final on the Saturday, just like this year and last year and the year before that! Yes, the sun did shine. Can't you remember AJ's "wall of death" with the airfence?
  13. Great wasn't it? I could happily watch without the (unnecessary) commentary, although for newcomers it helps?
  14. Nonsense. Boycey can't ride the bikes for his team and it is NOT his fault that the track was a disgrace!
  15. Well, Ole's theory is that slick tracks make for better racing ??? No racing on that track tonight, spread out like pearls on a string!
  16. That was also my opinion on the Finnish team, especially since Kauko and Joonas ride over here! Does Belle Vue know that Rory Schlein is a member of their team??? Edited for sp mistake.
  17. They could surprise us all and win!! They have as much chance as any other country; it's all down to the day itself and having that little bit of luck!
  18. £33 to sit in the Grandstand though. That IS a lot of money!
  19. A real shame for David for this to happen. Get Well Soon David. Unfortunately, it won't be in time for the WC now!
  20. Yes, the line-up can be changed as long as the replacement rider is named in the squad when teams are declared.
  21. Very well done to all those who qualified tonight for the Final in September. Many Congrats to Bjarne on winning the meeting and to KK. Brilliant by Kyle and Tobias...both surprise qualifiers. What happened to Hampel????
  22. I see that Troy Batchelor rode for Leszno tonight. Glad to see that he has recovered from his collar bone injury.
