I would think synthetic tracks will be even slicker!!! Why not just lay concrete?? Olsen's opinion on slick tracks? "It makes for better racing!" !!!! Racing? Riding a bike maybe, but definitely not better for racing!

Really? First I've heard of that! Where did you hear about/ read that SCB?

What is so galling is that every GPs the riders say the same thing, i.e. "The track was completely different in practise". Why? I haven't a clue about Speedway track preparation, but why is it so different one day to the next? I realise they have to prepare the track again after practise, but why isn't it done the for the Friday and then again for the actual event in the same way? Do they remove some of the dirt after practise? Every GP is the same for the first few heats...no passing, very slick track, etc. Sometimes there is passing later, but this isn't the only GP this year to have a disaster for a track. Hardly the way to impress newcomers to our sport! Anyone watching that would have said it was boring (which it was) and first out of the gate wins (which was almost the case, apart from the ruts which sent riders off line, picking up, etc. ) Very disappointing for what was billed as the showcase for Speedway!

The only thing I feel that will give Hampel the nod over KK is the fact that Hampel has been unfortunate and injured for three of those GPs. No guarantee that he would have got into the top 8, but having missed 3 rounds, who knows?

Has anyone the results for the Lubos Tomicek Memorial meeting held today in Prague? Can't see a thread for this anywhere.

I think there are too many GPs now. Ten of them in a season were quite enough. The more there are, the more our Speedway season will suffer.

Many Congratulations to Nicki on his second World title. He fully deserves it. He certainly wasn't 100% fit tonight, but he took the title in style.

Why not use Steve Boxall? He is only 20 years old. Scored 11 points in Sweden last night and is a good rider.

Lukas was leading the GPs in 2004, until he had that really bad accident. Not sure he will get in via the qualifiers, but anything can happen in Speedway! That's why it's our favourite sport!

Well done to Krzsyztof Kasprzak. Brilliant riding and a well-deserved second placing. Nice to hear that he mentioned Poole and Gordon day and Arena Essex as well.

Damaged the knee he had surgery on recently. Rode through the pain barrier for Poole last night, but pulled out of the ELRC as knee is badly swollen. Sees his Specialist in London on Thursday, 29th.
