  1. According to an interview given in local paper Nerikes Allehanda, Simon is still undecided on whether to sign the contract offered by Torun. http://www.na.se/artikel.asp?intId=1090996
  2. Don't worry Anders, I did not take it as a dig. If anything, I am a bit embarassed and apologetic as to breaking my own rule/promise. As for "Zombie", the rules regarding assesed averages are truthfully a bit beyond me. It sounds correct though, as you pointed out he's never ridden enough heats in the Elitserien. Cue more misery for Kaparna. Well at least there's never a dull moment whenever Kaparna are around, always stoking up controversy and always in some sort of trouble. You really have to give Rander credit for his never-say-die spirit! Merry X-mas to everyone on this forum reading this post!
  3. Serves me right for not being specific Let me rephrase, he has never achieved anything in the Elitserien! Bajen brought him in when they had an injury chrisis this summer, he only rode one match though away at Västervik and apparently turned up with rubbishty equipment and an equally rubbishty attitude, scoring a big fat zero including two stops from three rides. Let's hope he redeems himself in Gothenburg, for Kaparnas sake!
  4. Well I know I promised only 100% confirmed signings at the beginning of this thread but I got tired of waiting However, these signings were revealed by Tommy Rander in Race magazine, so it's not entirely without ground. Still, not 100% confirmed. That's interesting about the minimum points limit, and quite worrying aswell. Hadn't thought about it, just assuming they'd make it. I'm sure Rander is very aware though, and hopefully he has someone lined up. Svemo might let an understrength team pass without penalty for the odd match if injury has ravaged a team. But how would they rule if a team can't make the limit even at full strenght ?
  5. Szombierki's no1 average wise with 7.14 although he's never achieved anything in Sweden to date. Dobrucki's on 5.34. Kaparna could really have done with Matej Zagar. Still, it's early days yet and there are three transfer windows during the season. It doesn't look too good though.
  6. I'm pretty sure Anders is in the best position to answer that one
  7. Västerviks squad is now complete and will be registered with Svemo. Västervik 2007: Bjarne Pedersen, Niels Kristian Iversen, Tomasz Gollob, Sebastian Ulamek, Tomasz Chrzanowski, Chris Harris, Richard Hall, Roman Chromik, Mads Korneliussen, Billy Forsberg and Jörgen Hultgren. Riders available through partner-club Vargarna: Robert Johansson, Viktor Bergström, Stefan Ekberg, John Larsson, Kenny Olsson, Emil Lindqvist, Andreas Bergström.
  8. Kaparna chief Tommy Rander has announced the signings of a few riders, among others Rafal Szombierski and Rafal Dobrucki.
  9. New developments between Bajen, Västervik and Skornicki makes the transfer fall through. Sqora won't be joining Västervik.
  10. No worries, Iris Back to the Elitserien! Matej Zagar is planning to give it a miss in 2007. This spells bad news for Kaparna, who were banking on the slovenian to lead their charges. Well, at least that's what everyone assumed. Zagar has already been confirmed as a member of the Bulldogs side once again in 2007 and will also be riding in Poland, but plans to give Sweden a miss next year. http://www.speedwayworld.tv/en/news/a7213?...e6f5eefb95e951b
  11. I was at the Swedish Ind. Championship in Uppsala in 2005, and before the meeting started I was strolling around the pits, eyeballing the equipment and riders. Anyway, I happened to see Erik Stenlund and Posa next to eachother and it just hit me, that Stenlund who's something like 20 years younger than Posa is retired and still looking youthful and in good shape, and this elderly, grey little man is still tearing up the track, fast as ever. Amazing. Respect.
  12. You will be wise to do so Anders. Halvtum has come on leaps and bounds in only one season. His style of riding is, as you say, very controlled and smooth. He may well become a real attraction at Griparna this summer.
  13. Really? I read in the papers that Arendal has not been touched since the season ended.
  14. Yes, the detailed plan for the construction was finally greenlighted by the construction committee of Gothenburg on the 12th of this month. But there is still more red tape and ofcourse the question of funding before Kaparna is out of the woods. And even if everything does work to plan from here on, they are unlikely to have the new track at Säve ready for May 1st. According to Tommy Rander the educated guess is that Kaparna will start the season at their old track Arendal and finish at Säve. Still, this decision by the construction committee should give Kaparna some peace of mind to finish their teambuilding. Only 15 days to go now.
  15. Not much happening lately. Sqora to Västervik is the latest move.
  16. A beutiful thought. But how would the home produced riders achieve GP-standard if they're not racing against the best? Would the EL become a plant school, where when you become good enough you move on to the major leagues? That sounds a bit like Denmark, lots of good riders and reigning World Cup champions but with a weak (and now cancelled) domestic league. Good for the british riders, probably not so good for the british public.
  17. Born 1988-03-11 Season 2003 First season on 500cc Won swedish division 1 with Eldarna. Rode in 9 matches, 38 heats and scored 47 points + 10 bonus. Raised his average from 4.00 to 4.88. Season 2004 Allsvenskan with Bajen Speedway. Rode in 11 matches, 42 heats and scored 48 points + 8 bonus. Raised his average from 3.00 to 5.13. Season 2005 Won the Allsvenskan with Bajen Speedway. Rode 15 matches, 72 heats and scored 114 points + 17 bonus. Raised his average from 5.13 to 6.35. Won the Dutch Golden Helmet in Veenoord. Won bronze in the Junior European Championship. Broke his thighbone when practicing in Eskilstuna after the season had ended. Season 2006 Elitserien with Bajen Speedway. Rode in 3 matches, 8 heats and scored 3 points. Loaned to Team Dalakraft in Allsvenskan. Rode in 8 matches, 37 heats and scored 52 points. Drafted in with Masarnaavesta, rode in 4 matches, 4 heats and scored 2 points. * *bonuspoints were scrapped this year in Sweden. Member of silver-medal winning Swedish U21 side. Won the Dutch Golden Helmet in Veenoord again, defending his title. That's some info. Other than that I can tell you he's a real racer, and a gutsy performer and hopes are high for 2007.
  18. Well, what do you need to know? Ask me and I'll try and answer. I'm afraid there isn't much information available on the internet regarding Robert.
  19. I think probably Arjeplog and northern Lappland is the only part of the country which have snow and ice this strange winter. Can't imagine there's any snow as far south as Östersund right now. Use this link to see a map; http://www.hitta.se Type Arjeplog in the window labelled Var?
  20. I would say it's a very real threat to the EL should the russian league really catch on.
  21. Joonas finally signs on for another year with Bajen! I'm over the moon about this Such a quality guy!
  22. I'm sure you're right. Nicki seems to have taken young Bridger under his wing.
  23. Now confirmed that Lewis Bridger has signed a three-year contract with Bajen Speedway. Although in 2007 he will represent partner-club Griparna in the Allsvenskan, at least to begin with. A chance for Bridger to earn his spurs for Elitserien by impressing with Griparna.
  24. Yes, according to Race Magazine it is Kauko for Kaparna!
