German Gp Wildcard
Liverstam replied to rickmiller's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Tobi Kroner has got the wild card, from what I hear. Bit shocking to me as Martin Smolinskis' been excellent for Hammarby this season against top opposition. -

But then, how come we were able to view the European U-final online on that page a couple of weeks ago? Was it on another channel? Here's to hoping -

Robban can sometimes be this damn good. It doesn't happen regularly...but when it does he's awesome. Hope he keeps it up! -

Billy Forsberg apparently took a spill in heat 7 and was excluded, he is now being replaced by Jonas Messing in heat 10. Hope it's not too bad Billy Edit: Seems Billy has withdrawn from the meeting altogether. Shame! -
The 2007 Swedish Individual Champ. Finals

Gustafsson will certainly have the backing at his home track and is in my view on par with Jonasson and Forsberg as a rider, although the latter is seemingly in the form of his life! -

Because they have qualified. -
I can see what you mean, but know that Gapinski in particular but also many of the others have really gone to school and done their home work on that second bend and quite often you will see passing by the home side there.

Thank you Anders. I hope you were still able to enjoy some of the great racing on show, and your special mention of Smolinski tells me you did, even though your team was losing. At least you can't have been as gutted on the way home as I was in June driving home from Vetlanda? Were you with the large EVS-contingent in the VIP-section?

The 2007 Swedish Individual Champ. Finals

I was really impressed by Thomas H. Jonasson last night who among others beat Scotty Nicholls. Not sure how he usually fares around Sannahed though but I'm sure he can give Forsberg a run for his money. Never realised how tiny he is close up before either! -
Hiya Sandie, long time no see

Wasn't on the pace. Much like in the GP's this season. He was however pleased to be back at the track where he made his swedish debut, at least before the meeting

The 2007 Swedish Individual Champ. Finals

This event is so watered down it's unbelievable. No one really seems to care who wins, least of all the riders! However the junior title is always a great event with young guns really wanting to win. -
'fraid not Scooby. But there's a couple of friendly swedes around this section of the forum who won't mind to translate or tell you what you want to know.

I might be wrong here but isn't this the third meeting between the Liga 1 clubs? What's this, best out of three? I thought it was contested over two legs? Can anyone clear my confusion? -
Ofcourse, Bjerre won't have to look for a new club for long. Already last week he mentioned he had already been in contact with four other swedish clubs regarding 2008. I'd love to see him in Stockholm any day
-
No, he's not a dirty rider. But clearly there is some problem with him and Piraterna that goes far beyond this unfortunate accident. As team-mates, manager and fans all agree he should not be in the team.

Sweden Elitserien, Round 16

True. Nicki currently not at his best in Sweden. What really cost us today though, I'm sad to say, was Adam Shields below par performances. It was a great night of racing though! -
Local media reporting today that Kenneth will not be with Piraterna next year, this is dead certain according to father Ivan. Also, a mention that team Bjerre has been in contact with four other clubs regarding next season. This is rather infected by now, I would say. http://www.corren.se/archive/2007/8/17/jc2uc6d0tpb1d0q.xml http://www.motalatidning.se/sport/artikel.asp?id=58344

I think the main thing in this story is not the incident itself, for which Bjerre was at fault, but these things happen. What people are getting upset about is Bjerre's attitude to all this. He didn't check on Kostek, he refuses to get in touch and apologize etc.
-
Cost is a lame excuse for a league that boasts squads the likes of ours, especially in the eyes of foreign observers, don't you think? Although this is off topic. Seems little Kenneth isn't making too many friends around the tracks...

I'll cut and paste my take on this from the WWoS which I posted the other day. Just to 'beef' up the thread "Also, a very unlucky Robert Kosiecha managed to break the very same right arm that he broke in the first match of the season in Motala. To make matters worse, he was taken off by team mate Kenneth Bjerre who sent him flying into the fence. After last weeks sulking and negative comments regarding being dropped, Bjerre did his popularity among the Piraterna faithful no favours with this move. Especially as "Kostek" is a real crowd favourite... "
