What an unnecessary comment. Do you get some kind of a kick out of going onto different threads and being so cynical?
-
There's talk of a USA Team (Dream Team they sometimes call it..) coming over in April/May next year - would imagine that side will be taking on NL sides?
-
I would say Birmingham look significantly stronger on riders named so far... The NL is covered extensively in the Speedway Star and all results on the Updates . Plus the BSPA site. Not exactly difficult to find out about the division and its riders!
-
Oh okay - thanks. That's a relief..
-
If Brum get Perks too they will win the League by winning every match... Which was NOT the intention of the rule changes..
-
But those two are the best heat leader and more than likely the best three pointer. That's what I call a good start!
-
No over 30s rule anymore
-
Been pretty quiet on the Cradley front - but their landlords at Perry Barr look already nailed on title favourites.
-
Cheers Richard - no play offs in the NL in 2015 though!

I don't think the Kent team will seem top heavy in comparison to others because three 3-pointers will be something a number of other teams shall have to go with too. I can't really see what the alternative was? Remember three out of the top four scorers from last year have had to be jettisoned; are you suggesting more needed to go to in order to have a balanced side..?
-
Kent aren't really top heavy.. Ben has one of the higher averages but every team does need a number one and considering Morley's been with the Kings from the beginning it would've been wrong IMO to consider anyone else for that role. The other signings pre-AGM were James Shanes, a rider nailed on to increase his average; Danny Ayres, improving so much he's also certain to improve his scoring; and Aaron Baseby, who does have perhaps an average about the level he's likely to continue scoring at but then again what's wrong with that. No-one would've called that quartet 'top heavy' until the decision to set a 36 points maximum.

Certainly fantastic news that Zach is to ride in the NL. It looked for a bit like he wasn't gonna...
-
The question is, under rules which may or may not have been tweeked at Tuesday's meeting, can Adam double between the PL & NL or not..? Last year he wasn't allowed to but at his young age I think he should be allowed. If he's (still) not allowed to ride NL when at a PL club it is indeed risky for the Brummies to have him as their no. 1 because the way PL clubs chop and change their line ups it would seem nigh on certain one will come a-calling before too long for Adam. Or has he agreed a financial package good enough at Perry Barr to see off other suitors..?
-
Well there's been team equalisation/rider control for as long as I can recall. Which won't be as long as you clearly gustix! If every team could just be as strong as they wanted/could afford the competition in the leagues would be very one sided and crowds would be badly affected.
-
Doesn't mean 'Magic' shan't still be riding NL... I've heard he will be

Scunthorpe have always before fielded strong sides in the third tier which is why they've won it three times. They most certainly could've done so last season if they'd chosen to. What makes you think that for some reason they were excluded from having better riders? Their TM Richard Hollingsworth explained many times that it was a deliberate policy last year to pick a 'development' style team. Why do you want to ignore the facts about this?
-
The 'argument' as you put it, was me pointing out to you that Scunthorpe did NOT get forced into picking a weak side due to a lack of heat leaders. They picked a side of the type they did deliberately - they mentioned this as their policy often enough during the year, which suggests to me perhaps you don't know that much about the NL? Buxton's method of team building was not under discussion. I was simply pointing out that what you said about the Stags was completely wrong!
-
Yep if held in late October Cold Cup might well be an ideal name for it!
-
Aron Mogridge & Danno Verge have artifical averages really because of their involvement with the very poor Scunthorpe side of last year. An indication (if they were to miss out as a result with teams needing three pointers) on how that Stags experiment did them little in the way of favours..
-
You are 100% wrong about Scunthorpe. I never mentioned Buxton.
-
Absolutely NOT the case. Ask Richard from Scunny - he deliberately picked the level of riders he had as a point of some principle. He said it often enough during the season! Not sure what you mean? Morley doesn't have an average anything like as high as the one Boxall had. What kind of a line up in terms of rider averages would you have preferred to have seen then?
-
Well if your scenario was something which could actually happen I'd happily agree but the reality was seen last year with a woefully weak Scunthorpe Stags side which was shocking box office when a visiting team. As someone else said this is without doubt a proper third division now that Easty and Brum are also on board, so we don't need team line ups like the Stags of last year.
-
Depends on how many sides enter the NT I guess . Last year there were just four - including a make-weight Leicester - but with seven 'stand alones' this year could be more...
-
The latest on Lakeside's 2015 intentions. NT now seems unlikely too.. Looking at NL-level challenges against the local sides... http://www.lakesidehammers.co/content/?p=8870
