  1. Oxford used to run a few Wednesday meetings in their elite league days.
  2. That's why I'm flabbergasted by the Oxford revival!
  3. Newcastle is under threat from redevelopment. ARC only lease Perry Barr. Who knows what the long term future is at either stadium.
  4. You missed a cracker there against Poole this season. It was one of the best meetings I've seen at Central Park.
  5. Shame, Len gave Kent's air fence to Iwade.
  6. It was too loud for my liking, although some people enjoyed it.
  7. Fingers crossed for you Brian. Hopefully someone will step forward and save the Kent Kings.
  8. I've had a bad feeling all season about Cearns selling up and new owners coming in. When they didn't want people phoning the stadium with speedway enquiries, the alarm bells started ringing.
  9. When i played in a schools cup final, i got a small plastic Subuteo football trophy as my prize!
  10. That's outrageous. Can you imagine a team winning the FA cup and buying their own medals.
  11. Personally, i think 2023 is too long to wait. Speedway needs a track in the South East and Eastbourne could fill that space.
  12. Exactly. These deadlines mean very little. What about Oxford, are they going to be denied a place, if the stadium works are completed on time.
  13. Have Birmingham commited to run in 2022. It's all smoke and mirrors to me.
  14. I really enjoyed the Conference league era at Iwade, but it was never well supported.
  15. Len has given the air fence and track equipment to Iwade. Seems pretty final to me.
  16. The stadium owners don't give a monkeys about the history of the speedway clubs or their value to the local community.
  17. Good luck with any potential return for the Rockets.
  18. I'll reserve judgment on any revivals, until i see the bikes on the track. Talk is cheap when there is no money involved. British speedway in 2023 could be in a vastly different place.
  19. The end of speedway in the South East is almost complete. Lakeside, Rye House, Eastbourne & Kent potentially disappearing within four years is beyond belief. Add this to the IOW dropping out of the league, will almost finish me with the sport. 2022 will mean amateur meetings, grasstrack and the odd trip. A far cry from the 1970's, when it was speedway every night of the week in my neck of the woods.
  20. So why do they want the speedway out. They don't own the site. Have they got other uses planned for the stadium.
