Looking at the two teams you have to think Glasgow will fancy their chances of an away win. R/R for Riss and a reserve replacing Mulford.

Tremendous win for the Bears. Guests were great scoring 14 between them (Riss and Mulford scored 19 between them earlier in the season so not all down to the guests). Charles and Danny were superb (best I’ve seen Danny ride for the Bears) and Ace had another good night. Heat 13 was a great race.

Ahem….

Given the Bears guests contributed only 7 points it’s very surprising that the Bears won. Couple of uncharacteristic rides from Lawson early on and an ef for a Kerr obviously crucial factors but we deserve a bit of luck going our way for a change. Well done to Ace, more of that please. Loss of Riss will more than likely scupper Bears season still but nice to beat Poole for once. Decent enough meeting with a few good races and came across well on BSN.

Losing both Edwards and now Riss is a massive blow to Redcars season. You need a lot of luck with injuries and sadly for the Bears this hasn’t happened.

Bandits deserved winners even without their top 2 riders. Excellent guest in Howarth and the rest of the top 5 all chipped in. Home team attacked the track much more. For the Bears it was meeting lost when King fell at the front of Heat 3 and IRR went into operation, but hugely disappointed in the overall team display, particularly Riss who threw away points in numerous rides. Hope Danny hasn’t damaged his wrist too badly. Not an enjoyable night from a Bears perspective .

Racing has improved but only from a Berwick perspective. Bears going backwards in most races.

Danny King out after his fall. Racing non existent so far, absolutely dreadful watch with riders strung out in every heat to date.

Bears aren’t winning this one without Riss and Mulford improving their scores from last night and getting a decent return out of Lambert.

Glad I went on Friday (for a number of reasons) but no denying that Zmarzlik was a worthy winner.

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it even from the East stand but there were issues with people being sold non existent seats and the PA system was a joke. Catering and drinks were also very limited. But we got in early with no queues for anything, had good seats and once the first few heats were over the racing was superb. We came out saying we would be going again next year. Definitely things to improve but on the track it was spot on.

Lawson almost forgot to ride Heat 15, left totally standing at the start to spoil his maximum.

Most Bears fans predicted a 10 point defeat so we weren’t too far off. Comfortable win for a strong Poole team who will only get stronger when Cook finds his form and Cairns comes in. The Team to beat as usual. For the Bears to win they would have needed everything to go in their favour and It didn’t. Losing the toss in Heat 1 and conceding 2 5-1’s was the worst possible start. Danny rode well , Thompson did ok (but the track would have suited Jason tonight) but Charles and Erik weren’t at their best and the tail was very long. Mulford needs to show more away from home. Couple of decent races early on but racing deteriorated as the meeting went on with very little passing after turn 2.

Wright just has 1 bike there tonight so that’s not ideal on top of everything else. Poole won the toss too. It’s all going to plan !

Yes that’s how I see it too. Bears undoubtedly weaker so keeping a Poole win down to 10 points would be a reasonable outcome.

Riss, Mulford & the reserves. Might get away with that at home with Scott riding but won’t away.

Jason Edwards just posted that it’s likely a fractured scapula so would assume he’s out for quite a while. Massive blow to Jason and the Bears.

He must have impressed with his 3 points in the junior meeting at Poole last week. No idea why Jody Scott isn’t riding. Was looking forward to this meeting, not so much now. With a full team I felt we could push Poole close, much more difficult if we are short handed.

Be a huge blow to the Bears if Jason isn’t fit, his form is one of the main reasons the team has looked good most of the season so far.

Feel sorry for the busload of Bears fans who travelled down but probably best outcome for the team in terms of result. Poor communication from Plymouth promotion though, no mention that the meeting was in doubt at any stage, even 30 mins before the start when I decided to purchase the stream.

Was considering purchasing the stream but given the cost and the fact the Bears have a much weakened team I’m not sure I will now. Unfortunate for the Bears to lose Riss at such a late stage and not be able to get a guest. If the Bears can keep it close for the aggregate point that will be a decent effort.
