  1. Agree with boz - didn't agree with those 2 decisions but Garrity was twitchy at the tapes in his rides. Nationality has nothing to do with it - refs get decisions wrong sometimes. Plus we apparently had a trainee there too last night.
  2. Poorly worded by myself, the accusation is that Coty wasn't recieving treatment whilst the air fence was being repaired, and to quote the Glasgow website "The only thing I would add is the timing of it – the fact that it took 40 minutes to repair the air fence and the rider in question was fine up until then, but the minute the air fence was repaired, he suddenly took not well" I'm not agreeing with what Glasgow say, just trying to clarify what the accusation is.
  3. For balance no-one is actually saying it was a "conspiracy" before the race to get the meeting abandoned. The accusation is that after the 40 minute delay fixing the air fence Coty was getting seen to by the Paramedics. Any update on how Coty is today?
  4. I thought Lawson was at fault and should have been excluded. This is different from saying it was a deliberate act of dangerous riding (as JBA was accused of on the Glasgow v Redcar thread). Not accusing Lawson of "flicking his wheel" or any such thing. It was a racing incident but , in my opinion, Lawson was the cause of the crash.
  5. I think it's fair to say he's taken it "not well" I am sure Kevin Keay will give his side of the story.
  6. Hope Coty is ok - worst looking crash I have seen in a long time, he was catapulted way up into the air and over the safety fence onto the grass behind. Truly shocking to see. Couldn't believe he was excluded as well - Lawson seemed to straighten on the inside of him which resulted in both of them crashing. After seeing Lawson's histrionics when JBA had the temerity to outgate him at Glasgow god knows how he would have reacted had Coty been on the inside of him. Four panels of the air fence were damaged in the crash which lead to a good 40 minute delay as there were only 3 spares and also quite a lot of damage to the wire fence behind. Then when that was fixed it was announced that Coty was still receiving treatment and eventually, with no paramedic cover, the curfew was reached. Can understand Glasgows frustration as they were giving us a good tonking, much faster out of the gate and helped by Garrity not keeping still and going off 15 m in every ride. Lots of accusations from the Glasgow camp that the Bears were deliberately delaying things - Kevin Keay publicly refuted those in the strongest possible terms. Quiet night all round really. https://twitter.com/_tigerslive/status/870370715031265280
  7. Very tough ask for the Bears tonight against a Glasgow team featuring our old top 2 plus old friend RTR. Lunna rides our track well and Bewley seems to be riding well too. Perks is the biggest loss - having to replace him with a NL rider means the likely loss of considerable points scoring, particularly as we are also using R/R for Jonas and Ellis would have taken one of the extra rides. Typical that Perks average will change after tonight and we could have at least got a better quality of replacement Williamson is the best possible stand in for Ayres. Hugely frustrating that we are not able to field a full side against one of the leagues strongest teams but not the Promotions fault.
  8. As a bears fan I'm moaning because we are losing an excellent rider for a meeting and nobody else appears to be (for whatever reason) . Plus there is a chance Ellis won't even get a ride in Germany. Coupled with the fact that he is missing a home meeting against excellent opposition who are at full strength whilst our team is 3 riders down. Apart from that - no complaints
  9. I assume it's a logistical thing, rather than being allowed.
  10. Excellent win for the Bears but hope all those injured riders (and track staff by the sounds of it) aren't too badly hurt.
  11. As RR states IF we can get a full 1-7 back, fully fit and riding to their potential this could be a very strong team. Superb performance from the reserves- Ayres was great and battled superbly in all of his races and fantastic to have Perks back (makes all the difference). Felt for Garrity with his bike troubles whilst comfortably leading and then locking up on the last bend after a fantastic ride in Heat 15.
  12. The only "back wheel flicking" in evidence was Lawson after the race. Glad to see JBA shown not to have done anything at all wrong apart from ride a hard first bend. I was amazed at some of the accusations being levelled at him as having seen him ride quite a lot I'd never consider him to be a reckless or overly aggressive rider.
  13. Can someone post a link to the video so we can all witness this "typical Dane" behaviour for ourselves.
  14. Hopefully Charles Wright will be fully fit this week - noticed he had missed a couple of meetings for Somerset after riding for the Bears last week. Interested to see how Ayres and Perks go - Aarnio normally goes well around Redcar.
  15. I see that Charles Wright has pulled out of riding for Somerset tonight - could tell last night he wasn't anywhere near 100%.
  16. Perks was ill when he rode at Workington but that aside his form at home has been fantastic and I'm pretty certain he would have contributed much more than his replacement and been more than a match for Williamson. As previously stated Comets caught us at a very good time and deserved their win last night.
  17. It's almost as if I know what I'm talking about! Charles was clearly not 100% and his scoring was well down (he's been Mr Consistent at home up to now) and we badly missed Perks at reserve (although I thought Bacon battled well). Against a poorer team we might have got away with it, but the Comets have a few track experts and solid back up and deserved their win. Frustrating that we have never fielded our best 1 - 7 yet but injuries always play a part during the season.
  18. With a full team I'd be confident of a home win but without Perks and not sure if Charles will be 100% it's going to be tough for the Bears I think.
  19. So who rides at reserve on Thursday - assuming Perks is injured and Hall doesn't ride?
  20. Don't think Richard will be riding given his response on twitter. To be fair a lot of Redcar fans have been saying that a team change needed to be made so hopefully, whoever the new rider is, it will improve the team.
  21. About the result I expected given the side we had out. Always going to be difficult against a strong Tigers line up at home.
  22. GIven our injury issues (as a Bears fan) I hope the weather isn't kind and the meeting has to be re-arranged.
