  1. Well got home and read the thread and see it's all got a bit nasty. No need. Well done to Peterborough deserved to go through, the Bears never recovered from a poor start and , sadly, were carrying a few passengers. The replacement of Busch with Garcia has weakened us, as Garcia is way off the pace at the moment (think he's scored 8 or 9 lasts in a row at Redcar) and it's a shame we never got the chance to see the full original 1-7 in at least one home meeting. Needed Hall to step up tonight but the opposite was true and he was very poor. Panthers were very solid with Starke, UO and Holder having good rides. Lunna was good too so BWD wasn't missed that much. For the Bears Barker was the star man with Garrity and Wright not quite capable of recreating their form of earlier weeks. A few cracking races though and Heat 15 was fantastic. Glad it wasn't a league meeting ! (PS anyone know the official reason why Bukhave wasn't drafted in instead of Garcia? (Asking for a friend )
  2. Redcar to win on the night - but Peterborough to progress through. Think the changes (particularly the loss of Perks) will be too much for the Bears to overcome (happy to be proved wrong)
  3. I think Lunna is more than adequate replacement for BWD whereas the loss of Busch and in particular Perks, who has looked really good around Redcar so far this year, make the task much more difficult for the Bears.
  4. Don't think UO forgot (if as you are suggesting Busch took him out in the previous attempt at the heat) To paraphrase the old expression "revenge is a dish best served in the re-run"
  5. Failed to score in the individual event a couple of weeks ago and struggled a couple of times last year too around Redcar after having one very decent meeting. Hope he can recapture a bit of form.
  6. Bukhave has looked good so far around Redcar this season.
  7. Bears have agreed terms with a temporary replacement for Busch, subject to approval from BSPA. Hopeful he can ride Thursday. No name announced at present.
  8. Perks riding for Rye House too and Busch almost certainly out after his accident yesterday. Bears probably more badly affected than the Panthers.
  9. Great to see Ian (Aka TWK) last night after a few years absence (both for him and me), looking fit and well (if not a touch cold!) Agree with the comments about the whole feel about Redcar Speedway at the moment , looking good both on and off the track. Kevin Keay et al deserve a lot of credit for the work done so far. Took my 10 year old for the first time in ages and he had a great night. Given a fair run with injuries this team will be competitve in most matches, home and away this season.
  10. First and second bends were under a lot of water at the weekend. KK posted pictures on his facebook page.
  11. Just read on Twitter that the Clubhouse has been burgled and damaged. https://twitter.com/RedcarBears/status/832586135989784580
  12. S G Petch back as main sponsor - that's the announcement today. Just confirmed on Twitter.
  13. As someone who has only gone to a handful of meetings over the last couple of years - big changes were needed to get me to go back. Brian Havelock leaving ,a totally revamped team plus better communication from those involved in the promotion are a good start.
  14. Full team will be announced Friday at the Xmas party apparently.
  15. Confirmation that Jitendra Duffil will be manager home and away - No news on Promoter. Surprised none of the nationals are rolling with this breaking news story (apologies but after the build up I was hoping/expecting something a bit more exciting)
  16. The fact I can still quote pieces of his commentary 30 years after I first heard them tells you that he was the true "voice of speedway" Sympathies to his family and friends. Hopefully the fact he is so fondly remembered by many will help.
  17. So close yet so far. Given the problems Sheffield had (R/R then losing Bates) slightly underwhelming performance from the Bears. FTG seems to have been rider of the night.
  18. That's tomorrow nights team - this is a thread for the meeting at Sheffield.
  19. As a person who has been critical of how weak the Bears team is this year I actually think this is one meeting where they have a chance to put in a decent away performance. Bellego and Skidmore are ex Tigers, Lasse and Jonas have ridden well there in the past and Sheffield are running R/R for one of their best home riders. Might be totally wrong of course but no reason to expect a complete walk over as some are predicting.
  20. Havvy shows little interest in his own supporters or team so I'm unsure why you feel he would go out of his way to help another team! Especially you lot
  21. The sound of the engines might be drowned out by grumbling Jawdees by the looks of it. No fan of Havvys but why should he have to change the race night? Friday is the alternate night, but the Bears are being thrashed down at Somerset on that night. Diamonds guests are more than adequate replacements and they should still win comfortably.
  22. Judging by the lack of response on here - plus some of the comments on the Bears forum , by people who normally attend, then you could have just left it at your first 7 words. Things not good at Redcar.
  23. Not sure how that works but I'm sure you will win both legs easily actually.
