  1. Well the Aussie Championship final A final had about as much excitement as a final in the PL pairs at Somerset, what with Rohan having been excluded in the B final after falling when out front and Brady being excluded for touching the tapes in the A final. Congratulations to Brady for winning it (in so un-dramatic style) and Rohan for taking fourth. Have I missed something though as the big boys weren't there?
  2. I just hope we don't have the situation we did a few years ago with two graded reserves at 6 & 7 tootling around at the back. At least we only may have half that situation now. Could destroy a few riders confidence though in the process. As for the in's and out's of the rules, who knows until they are published/changed.
  3. "Youll get contribution-based JSA if youve paid enough Class 1 National Insurance contributions (NICs) in the 2 tax years before the benefit year youre claiming in." Straight from the horses mouth; Google types of jobseeker's allowance. The £16K is for income based JSA. But hey, I was only having a laugh. (No smillie faces as I'm on the phone). BTW £6K is the lower limit below which you get the full amount. Thus between the two it is graduated. If you meet the criteria for Contributions based JSA make sure you claim both.
  4. Actually, if he signs on he should get contributions based jobseekers! You see Shads, him talking sense didn't last long, just one post.
  5. Well my way of remembering Josh's surname is Graj-cz-onek. Following on in the same vane it has to be Waj-tk-necht. There you go 'oldtimer'. You can have that one for free. Spell checker has a nightmare on both!
  6. You have all got my total sympathy. My dad had this little known disease which also left him disabled to an extent.
  7. Not this weekend. Monday starting at 7:30.http://www.somersetrebels.co/news.php?extend.1615
  8. So here's what we are doing. Pretty good I would say.
  9. What a shocker. Wishing you all the best in your treatment Ian and hope you are better soon. Take it easy.
  10. Got me all excited there Cb thinking we would hear 3 days early. Back to sulking now.
  11. Oh you little wind up merchant. It makes me laugh how Ipswich fans are now gloating about not having a rider.
  12. How can I be accused of being greedy. Other clubs supporters have been fed with at least three riders while we are starving on zero! From what we know neither Brady or Richie are back next year so I disagree with the "roughly" bit too. Knowing those two aren't back next year makes it less "obvious". Add our NL 3 pointer to the list and that makes roughly half a team change. The trouble with not having any announcements is that we are slowly getting to know by elimination unless the management have a big surprise for us. Yet again, by elimination we know the surprise(s) will likely be from a list of Holder, Howarth and Tungate for a heat leaders. We are uncertain about our no. 1 too! Actually after all my ranting I'm not too concerned as I have the faith that the management will put together another competitive team as they have for some years now. I'm just enjoying the banter. Fills in the wait for the new season. Roll on March. Oh and a Merry Christmas to all fellow speedway supporters too (as there is less than a month to the day to go).
  13. Well it doesn't really matter when exactly teams announce their teams, e.g. it could be February, but if all other teams announce early as seems to have happened this year, then it somewhat frustrating that your own team don't. I always thought I was a patient man but the Rebels are trying me this year. Not too worried though but I just want to know.
  14. But it is all relative. Even the Bandits were way ahead.
  15. Many thanks for bringing me up to date. You don't fancy explaining the 3 point NL rider rule, do you? Only joking as I'm sure you have much better things to do with your life. Actually I'm not sure anybody definitively knows in any case.
