BSN can only broadcast one match at a time and also people may decide to stay at home to watch the other meeting
-
Stewart Dickson confirmed at Leicester on Thursday on the microphone before the match that it will be 1st vs 4th on first 21st then 2nd vs 3rd on 24th and same way round the following week. All should be confirmed early next week ( Think he meant Thursday) Unless any last minute deals done very unlikely though, play offs will be on BSN not on mainstream TV which is disappointing and Leicester are looking at best guest options but complicated due to outstanding matches (Before tonight’s meetings ) as some riders averages may change which would rule them out of guesting on play offs for Leicester
-
Unless Kings Lynn were to get home and away wins against Leicester then Max would be in the play offs for Kings Lynn with Leicester still facing Sheffield
-
Max has never been a rider keen to do guest bookings especially with his SGP place on the line but may want to keep himself race fit

Let’s see how they feel on Wednesday as bruising can feel worse after a day or Two but would say more likely Dan will ride but Nick may be out a little bit longer to recover -

If it’s the Radial nerve need to hope it’s not a career ending injury and that surgery is successful but even then recovery with full movement and strength can be 12 months plus so may be optimistic to be looking at Wildcard SGP place in 2027. It now appears the original reports and leaks from Poland after the accident were correct even though Chris said don’t believe everything you read

British final 15th August
flagrag replied to Neila's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
The on screen presentation and comms have been fine but is not coming across as a professional production. This is more to do with equipment used and people using them . They were given a price for BVTV to produce it and provide the facilities then another for SGP team and a higher quality production. As others have said do like the onscreen graphics and timings also second back of races seems to be better -

What a shame that BSP decided to go cheap on the production too much views of the floor or random shots along with out of focus at times during racing. Replays are limited and slow to be processed They did all the hard work getting the platform but then decided to go with an internal production -
My understanding is that he has got a very well paid job in Denmark and would be quite happy to do just Danish league and Poland at weekends . When Leicester spoke to him he made it clear at that point they would need to cover the large amounts of money that he would lose if gave up the work in Denmark to come over to do the Premiership matches
-
Have until the end of the 28day facility to make the change need to then look at what the team average is before announcing the new rider . A couple of possibilities were interested but not until the end of August as had other racing and work commitments

This will be updated this evening as it couldn’t be put in EPG until announcement this afternoon otherwise it would have ruined any surprise. As this has been agreed a while I am unsure why they have waited until 4 days before the event to announce it but hey it’s British Speedway and keep your eyes peeled for more Speedway on tv later in the year With regards to presentation this is being done by Emma Jones from SGP and comms are Kelvin and Olly so should come over well on TV just need more fans to attend -
Lions v Witches, Monday 6th July

Richard let the Ipswich management know he was running late and that he would miss the track walk and asked another mechanic to fit a tyre for him as would be there for the parade but then at 6:25 rang back said he was feeling ill and had turned around to head home. They advised him to continue to the track and just get there when he could so the medic could sign him out the meeting officially I assume they could then use IRR but he wouldn’t do that so then frantic phone calls were made to get Freddy Hodder to ride who did a decent job and looked on the pace . I have it on good authority that Richard Coleman was not at all impressed with Lawsons attitude so will be interesting to see if any action is taken against him. -
Various clubs in Premiership and Championship have tried to get Beau Bailey to ride in the UK since the season has started. He has had some very good offers along with opportunities to be taken under the wing and live with more experienced Aussies and their families (Not Poole ) but his parents are quite strong in their views not in 2026 There is an outside possibility that he may slot into a Premiership side just before the cut offs for the playoffs in August but that will depend on how his Polish team progress in next few weeks

Sheffield v Leicester- 25th June
flagrag replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Dan T would much rather have been at Sheffield and would have earned more riding at Sheffield for Leicester instead of paying for flights for him and mechanic ,hire car, airport parking and two nights hotel accommodation all to not ride and get his guarantee and then has to fly back again on Saturday to be messed around again . Maybe it is time that the ACU get involved and refuse British riders start permission if they have a clash of meetings in the UK as the PZM have done previously to Polish riders -
From what have heard it’s a bit more than a straightforward broken arm that was quite a mess with damage to muscles and tendons and will take quite a bit of sorting out. Delay in surgery is waiting for the specialist to arrive from another area of Poland . Hopefully get more positive update after the procedure has been completed but will be out most of the season now

Lions vs Witches PL R1 11/06/2026 19:30 OFF!
flagrag replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
As others have said with current crowd numbers, No mainstream TV deal and costs of travel now clubs have to make early decisions based on a variety of weather forecasts. Quite a few Leicester fans on here and on Facebook complain about these call offs but these are the same people that if drizzling at 4-5pm Thursday night then don’t come Speedway anyway. I don’t believe any fans like standing in the rain with long track work delays then watching slow boring strung out races. Nearly all forecasts are showing significant rainfall on Thursday some saying up to 7cms onto an already wet and waterlogged track if the meeting had been tonight it would have been called off -
Not sure how the Max 3 leagues works as Dan Bewley was doing UK,Poland,Denmark,Sweden and Czech League

Foxes vs Lions PL R1 21/05/2026 19:30

Joe was only signed as a 28 day injury replacement, If they had signed him as a replacement then dropped him he cannot be introduced. I tend to agree Dan Gilkes seems to have lost some of his confidence on the bike and am sure the falls tonight will not have helped. I don’t think he can but Gilkes could probably do with some NL meetings to get his confidence back Northampton at present is a difficult track to ride and is very inconsistent as Nick Morris and Ryan Douglas found with holes and bumps appearing -
Lions vs Stars - 14th May - Prem R1
flagrag replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Heavy rain last night and most of the day today has already left the track flooded. The planned work this evening on the track couldn’t be done so surface would just worse The forecast for Thursday is poor and there is planned heavy rain between 5 and 8pm. Riders need to fly in for this meeting and a call off in the morning would be too late to change plans so an early decision was made -
Think maybe this is a result of cost cutting measures as well, Like SGP the money available to each team is significantly lower than what has previously been offered hence why the qualifying has been tagged onto GP weekends to keep costs down. My understanding is that Will Cairns offered to attend for experience and cover the costs himself where as riders like Dan T would have to miss meetings in UK along with high travel costs especially with cost of diesel at present

Lions vs Tigers KO Cup 🏴23/04/26🏴 19:30
flagrag replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Ryan was fine just a bit battered and bruised, However Jack Holders foot could be a worse thing after getting it caught in Dan Thompson rear wheel in heat 15, photos of wheel are on social media and Jacks foot looked rather sore . -
I heard an advert on Greatest Hits Radio that covers Northants,Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire last week for Northampton Foxes and there has been a couple of mentions on the news as well. I would imagine that they may up the output more once they know they are open and any gremlins are sorted out so on opening night will just be happy to Speedway fans in and then will target others which may work as Football season will be finished and Rugby Union not far behind
